Fantastic brunch experience in a charming, country family style setting. Met with friends, one of which had her 2 year old.. Loved that they had seating for the baby as well as fun drawing activities. Definitely still an upscale experience and the servers and hosts were attentive. We actually were flying out that afternoon to Miami and had some small luggage pieces with us. We were seated at a table that had a wonderful space for our luggage so that it was not in anyones way. Classy yet friendly environment.. I would not hesitate to come back! Bloody Mary's and all drinks ordered were impressive.
Enternaing with a menu that covers all tastes and tasters; kids to discerning adults. Very good but way short of great.
The service was slow, and our waiter seemed distracted— the layout was a bit disorganized. But our food was amazing and the environment was upscale and buzzy; it had a great “New York” feel. Don’t miss the dumplings.
Food has gone bad compared to previous years.
Don’t get the chicken, so dry and bland.
No more lobster sliders in menu. Pretty bad.
Almost everything was good. I was disappointed only by sitting on high chair on a communitarian high table.
Most delicious Rib-eye steak I have had in a long time...Great friendly service. Very enjoyable evening!
The food, honestly, was mostly fantastic. Our paella only had a single shrimp, but was otherwise delicious, as was the pasta. The serving sizes were perfect for us, and wonderfully prepared. The service was a little slow considering how empty the restaurant was, but what ruined our experience was being seated at a shared table with a loud party when there were several empty tables around us. We’d definitely be willing to give it another shot and hope for a better experience.
This is always a stop for us on a NYC trip.
Best flat bread pizza I have ever eaten. Totally delicious. Excellent service.
I've not been a fan of other Todd English restaurants, but we had good food and service. Nothing fancy, pub food type menu. Very good sliders, though the full burger ordered by a tablemate was overcooked. Disliked the communal table seating and noise level, but to be expected at this sort of place (located in a food court type area). I would go back.
Very energetic atmosphere (read:loud), but so worth it. Casual, come seating, 6 kitchens provide a great variety. This does mean your meals won’t all come out at the same time. But it worked out our surprisingly well. I had the most incredible hamburger (the Food Hall burger). Huge & cooked to perfection: medium, juicy & so flavorful. I almost was able to finish it. My husband had the chicken & Ginger dumplings- My daughter & her BF shared veggie sushi & sautéed broccoli. Clean plates all around.
Wish I lived closer!!
My wife and I shared the CHINESE CHICKEN SALAD and the SHRIMP NOODLE dishes. The shrimp noodle dish is no longer curry, contrary to the online menu. Service was very good, and the two dishes were surprisingly good, verging on excellent. We wanted a relatively quick, but not a "fast food", dinner, and this filled the bill nicely. My wife had a glass of the Newton Chardonnay and I had a glass of the Villa Antinori Toscana Sangiovese -- both were very nice.
My husband, two 13-year-old daughters and I made a reservation for lunch at Todd English while staying at the Plaza. We were surprised when we were directed to be seated at another table at which 3 men were dining. I requested a private table as the restaurant was virtually empty. We were refused by the hostess who explained this was a “communal dining” restaurant and they had to save tables for larger parties. Of course, no one was there to be seated. We were there, with a reservation, but they were more interested in the potential future patrons who weren’t there.
We explained that we required privacy. We were there with our two children and did not know whether the men they were proposing to seat us with would be having kid-appropriate conversation. I don’t think those men should have been forced to eat with two teenage girls and likewise don’t think we should have to eat with strangers who might not be good dining mates for us. Totally absurd, especially in an empty restaurant, with just two or three other tables occupied.
The manager grudgingly agreed to put us at another table but said he could not promise that he wouldn’t seat someone with us. He explained there would soon be a 1:00 lunch rush. We ate quickly (service was fast, food was adequate, and frankly we wanted to get out of there). When we left just before 1:30, perhaps two additional tables had been seated. No big rush. Again, the preference for customers who might come in, over customers who were there, with a reservation, is baffling. We won’t be back. If you want to be treated like cattle, this is the place for you!
We ordered pork buns and Gyros. The meat was inedible. All FAT. Also the gyro had
some sort of inedible leaves on it. Had to take all of that off. I have had Gyros many times
without fat. This fat was stringy and inedible.
Went for Happy Hour - we had a great time - the oysters were great and the Frose was delicious after a hot afternoon. Great service too. Would definitely return.
High chair tables... service is just okay..
They put us at a counter. It was empty after 9pm.
Service was terrible, food recommend a wine because he'd "never had any", kept leaving for long stretches, we had to ask to order, yeah to ask for the bill, good came out at intermittent times, I wouldn't recommend
There is a variety of menu items so everyone will be happy.
20 minutes later no one had ever approached the table to pour water. Waiters looked right through the table. We got up and left.
Bad experience for a place located in the Plaza which evokes all kinds of thoughts of hospitality.
Kids Mac & cheese was a huge serving.
Gnocchi was excellent!!!
Fun place in the Plaza Food Hall
Great place the food is really good and yummy...ISSUE the food was NOT served at the exact time to everyone in the party. Everyone got their food at different times which made it a little bit uncomfortable. The reason why - It's a food plaza (open kitchens) so the meals are cooked at different stations so there is no communication with the waiters and food staff at the various stations. When something is really they simply walk it to your table, there should be someone to coordinate everything.
Las atenciones excelentes!!!
I went here for a birthday dinner with daughter and spouse as it was convenient to where we needed to be and was recommended. I reserved a table for 3 hoping that being a restaurant rather then the food court we'd get a table to sit at so we could talk. The hostess saw my reservation and then put us at the bar which is not where we wanted to sit so I asked to move and she moved us to one of the high tables begrudgingly. We did not realize there were no regular height tables and chairs, so unfortunately my husband ended hp having back pain after dinner which he still has 2 days later. The alcoholic drinks were way to expensive for us so we didn't order any. The waiter was very nice and attentive at first but once we got our food, which was very fast, we didn't see him again until time to pay. The food was tasty but many choices were overpriced in our opinion so we were limited in choices due to that and my gluten free concern. The one dish my husband was planning on getting was the ahi tuna and he asked for it without the scallions or onions but was told it was already in the tuna, so he eneded up choosing the fried chicken sandwich which is not what he wanted but did say it tasted good. Therefore, we had mixed feelings about our experience and would only recommend it to some individuals based on what they were looking for.
VERY OVERPRICED FOR THE QUALITY! Located in the Plaza Shops on the lower level of the PLAZA HOTEL- cute place BUT there were other resturants that might have been alot better! We had the burger- which was OK not great with limp fries- bill was $75 for 2 burgers, 2 fries, 1 beer and a coke! We are willing to pay for excelltnet food but in this case go get a burger somewhere else in NYC- other food look ok also- Waiter was really nice and gave good service-
Overall decent, but we picked this based on the seemingly good kids menu. The kids menu is good as far as options, but a paltry 2 chicken fingers are not nearly enough for a kid (6-10y) after a day in the city, maybe a toddler. Same feeling on 2 sliders. If I'm really reviewing this, from an industry insider eye, they should also know that 2 is not ascetically pleasing. There needs to be more food on the plate, with few apple slices, and more options for kids desserts, other than the $13 Eloise Root Beer Float, aka tummy ache. Fun to go 'to the Plaza', but probably will not go back.
We had an amazing server and the staff were so attentive and diligent. We had young children with us and were able to have a pleasant dining experience because if their great service. The food was amazing each dish that was brought tot he table didn’t disappoint. Every bite was better than the last.
Noisy. Great food. Evan is the best! If he isn’t working, rebook!
Always a peasant experience eating here! Nice wines, salads, flat bread pizzas. The air conditioning was so cold when we were there, but overall a great experience!
We love this restaurant and have been fans of Todd English for a long time. Every time I come here, whether with friends, family or coworkers, the experience is fantastic. It is often the first time for the people we bring and they are always impressed. Our server, Jessica, was one of the best we have had. Truly great food and always a great choice.
Consistent good food. Good for different occasions.
This place never disappoints! It is great because the menu showcases all different types of cuisine so everyone at the table will be happy!
Risotto tater tots were fantastic! Prosciutto, fig flatbread very good- quite large for one person. Central prk punch was delicious! A cozy gem under The Plaza hotel. I did not have room in my belly to try the other food stalls but Todd English’s restaurant was great! I will go back on my next NYC visit.
Great Dining, Great atmosphere, Service was very good and the meal was excellent.
I’ve been here several times. This visit was the first time with my (picky) family and the best yet. Our server, Boris had great recommendations for food and wine. Everybody enjoyed their meals as well as the friendly service. We have finally found a spot that we can all enjoy.
It's just like any of the other 250 Todd English locations around the world... Except perhaps with inattentive NYC service added on for good measure. Try the Bolognese.
this place was noisy, only good for tourists or to eat , it is upscale food court.
Great food. Excellent service & great drinks! Prompt seating. Overall great experience.
The place is nice. We wanted to have this great seafood dish but unfortunately it was taken off the menu. The seafoid tower was fresh.
