Food was delicious and our server was wonderful!
Unfortunately we cannot remember his name but we sat in the front on 12/21.
A few things were off from what we had ordered (sugar on rim instead of salt, flour tortillas instead of corn) but nothing huge and still delicious!
Ambience and service was good but the food not so much. We have had better Mexican food elsewhere. Chicken fajita was sour and the Mexican street corn was too salty.
Amazing first time visit for our family with our mixed experiences with Mexican restaurant authenticity. For now, all five of us are aligned on Tocolo as a revisit option when the hankering hits for Burritos and the like. The Covid partitions are great for reducing noise and allowing easier conversations. When the Covid-crazy ends, would still keep the partitions!
Great food and the staff was so friendly! Will be dining there again soon!
The food is consistently delicious. I had a pineapple frozen margarita, house guac, carne asada rice bowl and churros. The carne asada is very juicy. The churros come with a caramel sauce for dipping and is absolutely amazing.
Olivia remembered us after a few months. She was amazing as the first time she served us!
I used to love this place. Went after many months..seemed a run down place. Food was ok. Service was good.
Fun atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff. The margaritas are also amazing! Very clean and pretty decor inside.
Good food and service. Friendly staff.
Phoebe was great! Very attentive and suggested items we hadn’t had from the menu before. We always enjoy going to Tocolo! Food was delish.
Food was delicious. Drinks were strong which is wonderful. Plantains were on point. Would be cool to have some live music in there!
It appears that they have downgraded the type of meat used in the steak fajita. Certainly not the gold standard skirt steak. It was very chewy and low grade. You shouldn't expect that for the price they charge which is more than the average price for a mexican restaurant.
We were running late for our reservations, we called and they were able to accommodate a later time. We were immediately seated by the hostess, received water and chips/salsa. For a Saturday night and a relatively small venue in comparison to other restaurants you have the option to dine in, we didn't understand the wait to be serviced. We waited over 15 minutes and not even a, "hey, I'll be with you in a few minutes!" We were passed by multiple times before our waiter came to speak with us. When our waiter came and took our drink order, we placed an appetizer order at the same time because we didn't want to risk not seeing someone again for a while. Another 15 or so minutes later, appetizers arrived but we were waiting on beverages.
Food was good, they were able to accommodate an allergy at the table so that in itself was greatly appreciated. The staff was extremely nice when they were being attentive, just wished the service was more frequent so we could conveniently ask for things like utensils. Would visit again though.
Great for a kids bday dinner especially if your kid loves tacos
The food was ok, menu limited. The waiter service was ok, but average at best. Wait for waiter to get bar drinks was awful. The drinks were not bad. We both ordered entrees and several drinks. My wife asked for a llittle bit of sour cream for her steak fajitas, which were the second highest priced item on the menu after my short ribs. It took a while but finally came, When we got the bill, there was a $1.50 charge for "crema" for the 1 oz. of Sour cream. I spoke to the hostess on the way out and expected an apology, but only got, that's mgmt policy. I emailed the restaurant and got a reply from the "Proprietor" as follows:
"I am sorry that you were dissatisfied with being charged for something that you ordered. It is simply a business necessity that we charge for Crema. It is a very expensive item for us. If I gave my servers latitude to not charge for “good customers”, what do you think would happen? They would give the store away in hopes of better tips. "
Retail Sour cream goes for about .10 an oz and we were not even told that when we asked for a bit of a condiment that we would be charged $1.50. At this point, I would never recommend or return to this establishment!
Service was not what it used to be. The bathrooms were dirty. The fajitas did not have onions. Our plates were not cleared. The cappuccinos were forgotten until we reminded the waitress. I used to really love this place.
Came here after the Van Gogh exhibit and it was SO good. I’ve been on a taco kick ever since but nothing has matched up.
Amazing margaritas. Very diverse music. Great tacos. Amazing waiter!(forgot his name; could of been daniel or Danny)The host we’re very friendly too.(Forgot his name) I would definitely recommend the birra tacos & the classic guacamole.
Always a great time here. Food and drinks were amazing and service was top notch! First time without the kids and I had a great time. Kid friendly and perfect for a date night as well
Great date night with the wife. Good COVID spacing
Food was great, definitely recommend the birria tacos!
Take the Birra tacos off your menu. Its an insult to traditional Mexican cuisine.
Everything else tasted good though 😁
Met two friends there for lunch on a Sunday. Food was good (tortilla soup) and my white sangria was delicious. Service was ok. Server was pleasant but took over 15 min to bring out more chips (after having asked 2x). Vibe was laid back. They have great HH drink specials 12-5pm daily which was a bonus.
Great experience .
very good food and service. drinks are a little weak for the price (13$)
I went for my Wife’s birthday and food was great, waiter was awesome! Overall experience was super!
I will come back!
Great time as always!
Drinks and food were amazing - definitely recommend.
A fun place to eat! Very nice staff.
The food at this restaurant was just ok. We ordered wings and they had no seasoning at all. The steak , chicken, and shrimp dinner for two also no season at $45 . The shrimp tacos were good. I had a fresh mango lemonade that was great, but the raspberry lemonade was horrible!! The waitress was on point., and the music was good.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to eat Mexican food for the prices they are charging . I have enjoyed much tastier Mexican food in Longbeach, NY
Tocolo has some good drinks and food. The guac was good and the chips here are really excellent. We had the tinga empanada, not bad but surprisingly bland, would not recommend. We had a mix if tacos, steak, pork and fish, all good. I dont think Tocolo is at the level of a Besito or a Dirty Taco, but its good and solid Mexican food.
Tocolo is simply an amazing place! The food, the drinks are delicious. We love going there. Highly recommend! Thank you for such an amazing time always!
Amazing food quality service and price.
Best Margaritas I have had in a long time. Service was great. Food was good. Would return for drinks any time!
Food came out wrong then when correct food came out it meat was dry onions burnt. Very surprised used to always have a good meal. Off night for Tocola
Food was great, definitely recommend the tacos. And churro sundae!
