What Insiders Are Saying
Toca Madera, a healthy Mexican restaurant on a trendy stretch of W 3rd Street, is the place to go if you want a scene but you also want decent food.
Best experience ever for my boyfriends birthday!! Toca has amazing service and great experience all around :) thank you!
One of the best Mexican places I've ever had. So much fun, amazing ambience. Just all around awesome!
First trip to LA! Amazing food and atmosphere!
The vibe and atmosphere was amazing. Despite it being a Monday there was a DJ and it was relatively packed. The food was alright, we got the verde ceviche which was way too lemony for me (however my friend loved it) and then the tacos which were subpar. The sweetcorn was phenomenal however. Definitely would recommend as the restaurant is beautiful and the music amazing, however do not go there expecting incredible food.
Very fun and vibrant autmisphere. Live DJ spinning sets the mood. Although I didn’t think food or service were great, the drinks were yummy and the place super sexy. I will certainly go back on a Friday/Saturday night.
The back patio was beautiful! We had a great time.
Hubs and I are regulars. Great date night location. Good food, good vibes, good drinks. Definitely worth it.
Service, food and atmosphere was phenomenal. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
The design and deco is amazing. The food (we ate the hot rocks was fine). It was definitely noisy though, my suggestion is to sit at the back. The waitress we had was fabulous, she was ultra nice, not pushy and even allowed us to move tables. Had a good evening.
It was fantastic. The food was amazing. The service was great! I can’t wait to go back. The street corn was phenomenal!
From the exterior reminiscent of an after hours club or speakeasy. Once inside a fun space with front and rear dining (rear on two levels). The scene fun and energetic. The food very, very impressive; Mexican with a sense of modernity. Varied menu, many items perfect for sharing. Strong beer and cocktail choices. Some of the best chips and salsa in LA. Excellent service, attentive and informative. One issue could use more time between courses to facilitate conversation and enjoyment of the surroundings. In in WeHo on 3rd or shopping in the area make a point to visit. From the exterior looks closed, the party is inside.
the music was really high and then was turning even higher not a place for dinning experience. Also took forever to order convinced our waitress had forgotten about us.
From cocktails to tapas, large plates, and dessert, delicious and oh so beautiful. Best margarita ever. Bonita Margarita. omg. Everything was delicious and ambiance is outstanding. Can’t stop talking about it.
It’s a great app lace to catch some edgy Latin food, I’d definitely go back
Outstanding restaurant, delicious food and incredible service!
Sacha is your biggest asset
The food was delicious and our server was wonderful. It is noisy inside, which is exactly what we wanted but just as a heads up to others. 5/5 would recommend!
It was great !!
The food and the service were great. A fun place to hangout and people watch, or mingle. Food was a bit pricey. $7.00 for a side of rice seems a bit extreme to me.i ordered Enchiladas de Mole I got 2 enchiladas for almost $20 plus the extra $7 per side. But food was good.
Great ambience with amazing food. Really good vegetarian options.
Food was great, busser’s were great and attentive, drinks good. The wait staff, didn’t speak well when regarding questions about the food. They didn’t speak bad of the food but just were not able to speak descriptively about suggestions and recommendations.
The wait staff, seemed amateurish and disinterested in there work. It may have been the age of the table, and maybe the wait staff converses better with people there age but certainly poor sales skills and limited vocabulary regarding the menu.
Absolutely lives up to the hype! We went for a girls night about 5 of us and couldn’t have asked for a more fun place to hangout! The cocktails were great, DJ was awesome and the food was delish!! Highly recommend it!
It’s was so great only problem was we had a table in the back corner away from everything but other than that everything was past excellent
This was a very unique and fun experience. They have an awesome indoor patio with sky lights and plants. The food was amazing, so delicious. The drinks were very yummy. Just outstanding dining experience.
Thanks for a great birthday celebration! Service, food, ambiance, and drinks were spot on. Surprised at how busy it was on a Monday night.
The quality & taste of the food were good but the portions were somewhat small for the price. The drinks were delicious but also on the expensive side ($16 a drink.) I think there are way too many other Mexican options in this city to make this a regular place for me and I eat out Mexican at least 1-3 times a week. I must add the service was very good. This is definitely your high end Mexican place.
Great trendy place, delicious food, loved the chips and banana chips they serve while you wait for your food, friendly waitress, love all the wood decor and art.
Awesome waitress ! Cool vibe, bit noisy on a Friday night but great corner spot upstairs. Try the empanadas and guacamole for sure.
It was my birthday everything was great. Thank you!
I found the drinks to be weak. Food was good but the serving portions were small especially with the price.
It was great, everything was on point.
Great experience. Good food.
So noisy you can’t even hear he servet
Mother’s Day Brunch, 2018. The Huevos Rancheros were excellent and the Adios Felicia cocktail was very refreshing. Love the popsicle! Always a good time at Toca Madera.
Service was really bad this occasion. I’m a regular there and i took my wife to celebrate Mother’s Day there and our food took over 30 minutes, server missed one meal in my group so that took 10 minutes more, on top of that the food was cold, I also ordered a side of corn tamales and they were still undercooked. It was just a terrible experience overall.
Brunch at Toca Madera was a great experience. The chilaquiles are amazing! It was served artfully in a deconstructed manner that allowed all the ingredients to shine. The churro waffle had a perfect balance of sugar and cinnamon. It was served with an ice cream that coated every bite. Toca Madera has a beautiful sunroom in the back which adds to the ambience of the restaurant. Overall, a great choice for brunch and I can’t wait to return.
May 5th,,,, duh!! the place was filled and a lot of fun. Food was good too!!!
We celebrated Cinco de Mayo there! It was outstanding! The service was great as was the decor and as I eat no animal products, there was plenty of options for me!! Definitely go back! Plus our reservation was totally on time and I love that!! All in all, a definitely 5 star!
