Table was not ready. Server was slow to take order.
Went with a dear friend to brunch. Enjoyed very much!
Staff was all pleasant. Took a long time for food and then it was cold when it arrived.
The eggs benedict was not a hollandaise sauce as mentioned on the menu but something else.
Had a lovely dinner with wine. Service was excellent! Nice wine selection to choose from. We will be back!
It’s a good place for
I really like the ambiance of this place, but their menu is very limited, and the portions are very small for the price.
They also charge a corking fee for the wine bottles on their menu which seems unnecessary - and I don't believe is included on the menu (it's possible I missed it).
Overall, I probably wouldn't go back as there are better options with more exciting options for much less than we paid.
I had brunch and the food was delicious! Also, reasonably priced.
We both had the Michigan Omelet and pancakes. Loved them! Darrel was our server and was wonderful. We will be back.
Everything was fantastic as always, from the food to the service!!
I had a bone-in pork chop with grits and borderlaise sauce that was outstanding! Would definitely enjoy ordering that again!
Great! Though the blueberry, ricotta, lemon pancakes should become a menu staple.
This restaurant is inside the Baronette Renaissance Detroit-Novi Hotel. Upscale ambiance and good service. Our party ordered three Steak Frites and one Seasonal Fish (Salmon). The Steak Frites was delicious; done nicely with great fries. The salmon was delicious and a generous portion. We would go back to the Toasted Oak.
Nice lunch with my son. Yummy burger, excellent fries, and a nice glass of wine
Brunch was amazing. The cornbread bread pudding was to die for. Our service was phenomenal as always. We’ll be back soon.
A little disappointed by this season menu, many meat dish
Limited fish or vegetarian optiond
The chef went above & beyond creating the perfect meal for me following the AIP autoimmune protocol. Amazing!!
Said they would like to create a book to help people with food sensitivities. Really appreciate the support!!
Great food and service. Creative menu and big wine list. I'll be back.
Great brunch great service. They update there menu so call before going just in case your looking at something specifically to order.
Family weekend go out dinner event.
The food was bland and over priced. I heard mixed reviews going in but I was disappointed. The best thing we had was the cheese board and the wine.
Scrumptious food, attentive service and inviting atmosphere!
Lovely dinner! Had such a great experience. Tim was an awesome server and made us feel invited and welcomed. We had the Chateaubriand for two. It was prepared perfectly and we ate the whole thing! Also had a lovely bottle of wine suggested by the manager/sommelier. It was a perfect match with our dinner. Highly recommend!!
Always a great experience. Food and service are top notch. Highly recommend.
Used to be a great spot with good food and service. Slowly went downhill and is now not worth visiting. We waited 20 minutes for mimosas that were all orange juice. We asked why there was no champagne and they said that the drinks had always tasted like that... definitely not true. They did bring over “extra” champagne but we had finished eating at that point. They forgot a side dish and when it arrived the plate was HOT, but the food was cold. Clearly forgotten and then heated up in the microwave. The rest of the food was tough/over cooked and not any where near the quality expected. This place used to be my go-to for special occasions but now I feel that I can get the same experience at a Coney Island.
Alyssa was our waitress. She was excellent. She explained the menu and we all enjoyed our orders. Scallops, filet, lamb chops, eggplant, bread and duck pate.
I had a reservations and 80% of the tables open, I was seated in the corner. When I asked for a better seat, I had to track down the greeter, when I found her she was working on other patrons. The fact she just left me standing there for 5 minutes and did not immediately return was insulting to me. I finally asked for the manager, who resolved the situation.
*When I left there were 50% of the tables open. I was there early and have no when to register for a particular seat on the web site I set the reservation on.
**My suggestion if your 80% open and its 530 pm ask the patron where they would like to sit.
The manager comp'd food and we are happy to be back. Our first date was there and we returned on the anniversary of that date.
Always love the menu... especially the torta. Our server was super friendly and didn’t rush us, chatted with us - really enjoyed our morning.
Lately the meals have been very disappointing. The last three times we have been there it’s been declining in value and taste. On Thursday my steak had no taste and my fries weren’t fully cooked. I complained about my wine but was told there’s nothing wrong with it.
We are here often but it wouldn’t be my first choice anymore.
Terrible value. Small portions. Cheap cuts of meat price at a very high premium. The lamb was rubbery. $18 for a woodford double oak on the rocks. Menu said $14. They charge extra if you want it on the rocks but don’t list that anywhere on the menu. $9 for a potato soup. It eas a work paid meal and I still feel ripped off.
Very good very tasty and very pricey! The server was super nice and the food was good but there was some sticker shock when we got our tab!
Food was mediocre. The brunch selection was limited. The only thing good was the fact that the mimosas were reasonably priced after the initial drink. If you are a swine type of person then the sausage patties are what you want to order. Also when ordering the potatoes, be sure you tell them not to over cook them.
We’ve been here several times. Foods always good and the preparation is careful and creative. Areas that could be improved. If it weren’t for the fact that they have a wide selection of wines for sale the choice for wines by the glass is rather limited. The other: the place is just too loud and it wasn’t even full not sure what it is but it’s hard to have a conversation. Lastly, the place is a bit dim and the ceiling light right above us wasn’t working.
Service wasn't up to par this visit. Our server was slow and we had to ask for bread three times; it was finally brought to the table as we finished our entree. A large party nearby was also extra loud, making it nearly impossible for us to have a normal conversation. Overall the food is very good.
Wife and I loved it. We did not know restaurant was in a hotel. When we arrived, we gave each other a quizzical look and said 'what the heck' and went for it. We absolutely loved the dinner. Only way we knew we were in a hotel was that the restrooms were off the lobby. We will be back!
Friendly wait staff. Marginal food. Do yourself a favor and find some other place to eat.
A friend and I met at Toasted Oak and our dinner was amazing! We had Matt as our waiter and he was fantastic! He was attentive and so helpful! We will definitely be returning!
We had a reservation but wasn’t seated for about 15-minutes. I was very surprised they didn’t have a breakfast meat that wasn’t pork. Our order was messed up but they corrected it quickly. The potatoes were good & the French toast was tasty. Overall their brunch menu was very limited & not many options I wont be back
Service was wonderful. The food, particularly the pate with bacon jam and cheese plate was phenomenal. Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner.
Limited menu; service was marginal. Charged my friend $3 more for a different vegetable (squash) because she couldn’t eat fries (aren’t they both vegetables?). Should have been just a substitution. Waited forever to order and forever to get our bill. Restaurant was not busy at all, either, many empty tables.
