It started out nicely- I had a good cocktail. My husband wanted tequila and they were out of his first two requests. No biggy. Everyone was super attentive in the beginning. The black bean and toast was mediocre, cold and not eventful. The stone fruit salad was okay. The meatballs were good. I really like a glass of wine with dinner and it took several attempts to get someone's attention to get it and by then the pork dish was cold and not as good as it could have been. I used to really like Toast but not super impressed this time.

The bloody marys here are on point! Food options are better now than they were in the past -- less sandwich-centric. Service was good during the food service, but after we finished, I would've really liked to have been asked if we wanted anything else. I wanted some dessert, but we were presented with the bill, so I guess they wanted us to leave. :(

The server was nice but not knowledgable about the food. The two ppl at the food pick up window talked all over the food while it sat under the light awaiting delivery to tables. Also, they were frequently seen touching their hair, faces, noses, etc,.

Great food. All the food was excellent and the drinks were wonderful Slow service getting started. This may have been due to our conversation but we would have loved a drink while we were waiting to decide on our food. Wonderful service during the meal. Awful trying to order dessert. We were seated outside and we were the last table, we decided to move inside to get service and for warmth. Ou waiter had left but had not informed us that we had a new server.

Toast has become our "go to" neighborhood restaurant. This visit did not disappoint. We sat outdoors even though it was a bit chill. The outdoor heaters helped. The food was a treat as ever. The truffle french fries! Service was spot on. All in all -- another wonderful experience.

Was our first time, the food was great, the service excellent. I am a bit picky about my food and even a picky person could find the menu with foods that were excellent and very good.

The bar was complete and good with old fashioned drinks and even better with a more avant garde drinks as well. I think anyone would enjoy their drink selections.

Hope that you give it a try!

We made reservations for brunch. Unfortunately they had music incredibly loud on the patio and were only seating in the bar! The bar was also super noisy. 2 of us had french toast (good) but the smallest amount of syrup you could imagine and 2 others frittata (good), 1 had fried egg sandwich which was relatively good but served on super thick roll rather than toasted bread. In fact when 1 person asked for toast with their meal they said they did not have it. We also ordered Bignets. These were dense and chewy. Either they were very over mixed or the dough had sat for a long time. Either way they were not enjoyable.

Went there on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy - there was even a party going on but the service was still very good and food/drinks came out in a timely manner. We ordered several small plates to share - best was the slow braised oxtail. The meat was very delicate and fell right off the bone with a robust flavour-very balanced combination! Great casual spot.

Toast is slipping a little bit. The meatballs (which are delicious) were sold out by 6pm on a Saturday night. The avocado/black bean toasts were tasty and the gumbolaya was great. The stone fruit salad, a bit underripe ad disappointing. Nice happy hour specials.

We came to Toast with a gift certificate for dinner for 4 with wine that they very kindly donated to our kids' school auction. We weren't sure what to expect - would they bring a set menu? Would we be given a limited choice off the daily menu? Well, they treated us like royalty. They brought us a multitude of dishes based on our expressed interests, made fabulous suggestions, and our server, Will, was the most attentive, respectful, and professional we've experienced of late (and hubby is in the restaurant industry so we are old hands). And the food was, 9 out of 10 dishes, absolutely wonderful (with the 10th being just good). The Brussels sprouts, pork belly, and oxtails were especially good but the winner was the bacon mac-&-cheese. Critically, for us, the cocktails were also spot on, and the wine suggestions were very good. We hadn't been to Toast since it first opened, but this will now be in our regular rotation.

Have not been here prior to last weekend, and I have to say, why didn't I go sooner?? Everything from the atmosphere, to the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, to the food and wine list, was great. It's a bit noisy, so if you're looking for a quiet place, probably not the best place to go, otherwise great spot for brunch and catch-up with friends!
