The service is always excellent and we consider this the best seafood in Dallas. It’s always fresh and well prepared.
My very first impression was not good. We had an open table reservation, showed up right on time, so one was waiting to be seated but the restaurant was very full. I was asked if we had a reservation, yes, and my response was well we have tables outside. Hmm, it's summer in Dallas, 97 degrees - no thanks, how long is the wait for in inside table? Oh, we have one , we'll seat you right now. Really? Why did I have to ask for an inside table? I found their craft coctails interesting, and enjoyed one, their wine list was good. Our server was excellent. Starters, gumbo ++ shrimp coctail, sauce too spicy, and dressing on mixed greens burned the esophagus. Main dish, crabcakes and fish tacos ++. Especially the crabcakes, solely lump crabmeat - excellent. Would go back to try some other tasty sounding dishes. Very noisy, tables less than a foot apart.
Good food and pretty good service. Expensive but this is Dallas.
They do a great job preparing and serving fresh seafood with friendly service. I have eaten there about 4 times and it is always good.
Wife and I celebrated our 8th anniversary with a great meal and great drinks
I was unsure about whether I would like this place. Being from Rhode Island, I tend to be dismissive of Texas restaurants claiming to serve fresh seafood. I must say, TJ's was a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent, and my wife and I both agreed that we need to go back to try other items on the menu.
Very good food
Service and food outstanding very casual atmosphere. I will be back.
Excellent Seafood, Fresh and tasty. The lobster roll very good but pricey at $36.00
Our only complaint was the noise level was way over the top...
Very fresh ingredients. Courteous service, knowledgeable wait staff. Relaxing environment. Highly recommend fish tacos and crabcakes. Freshest seafood market in Dallas. Lobster for cooking at home outstanding.
Just meeting friends
We are and continue to be a fan of TJ's. The fish is fabulous, as you would expect, and so are the truffle fries - a perennial favorite. The style is casual but the food and service is top notch.
Super great seafood and nice service
Although they did alter the lobster roll as per my husbands request , my salad did not have two items on it that were listed in the menu!
TJs was not bad by any means but it won’t be my first choice when we are back in Dallas!
Always fresh fish! A bit on the pricey but worth it.
This was me and my husband's first time to come here and they did not miss a beat. 😄 James was very attentive and informative about the specials. We will definitely be coming back here for occasions and just because days. 😀
Great, I am always pleased to visit, even when they run out of certain foods! :)
We had s wonderful dinner, and great service.
Never a disappointment. Keeps us coming back!
Excellent seafood. The best in Dallas, I'm pretty sure. Elegant presentations that delivered on flavor. I hadn't been for years, and the restaurant is much larger now. My son-in-law recommended it after reading about the owner's obsession with only the best, sustainable fish. Rather brilliant of him, I think! Our server was excellent: pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. The ambiance is bright and clean. We'll go back for sure! Thank you!
Champagne needed to be colder.
Frittata was too hot and could hardly eat it.
The booth was too small for a four course meal for two.
Didn’t like the last course choices.
The best item was the oysters on the half shell.
TJ’s was definitely overrated to me. The portions were entirely too small. I like AnberJax better.
The tuna poke bowl was very good. Coconut rice was the best I’ve ever eaten! Salad was cold, crisp and delicious. Great lunch today at TJ’s.
This place is always reliable for a really good meal. This visit, they had a new chef/cook, so the food was very slow in coming. Good when it arrived, but took way too long. Lots of folks complaining. Once they work out the kinks, should be back to where they’ve always been.
Will be back. Great place!
The grilled salmon was perfect. It was cooked exactly as I requested.
The meal was very good. The salmon burger was excellent, but the best part of the meal was the Brussel sprouts. Seriously good stuff.
It was a wonderful experience. Our waitress was a gem and was very attentive and the food spoke for itself. Absolutely amazing!
Nice local place for us. Seafood is featured as advertised. Food was very good, service was superb. A little pricey but that's to be expected based on what is featured. I'd recommended for anyone looking for quality seafood in a local place.
Everything was fine for a Tuesday night, except they were 100% out if lobster! It was my b-day and we came specifically for the lobster roll. ☹️
The seafood was not all that. Thought it was way too pricey for what you got at a brunch. Should have had better deals. The shrimp was over cooked. The salmon was almost over cooked. For an appetizer of a few shrimp and some arugula it was $16.00
Bloody Mary was $14.00. We will not be back.
A weekday night out as the halibut season begins. Preparation was simple and excellent. Other recent entrée and side changes are further improvements. Always solid raw oyster offerings. Wine list is very short, but can typically find 2-3 good choices on both red and white lists. Still working on their dessert menu. Simply the best seafood in Dallas for some time now. Have been here many times and have never been disappointed. About how many places in Dallas can one say that?
Excellent! Gumbo and shrimp po boy. Just a really cozy and comfort place. Excellent food. Highly recommend.
Great brunch location. Super fresh food and great service. Love the white cranberry mimosas.
Lets start with, food was good. Well presented. Would strongly recommend an improvement in seating comfort. Cushions on bench seats offered no comfort. Caused us to leave early and with wine on the table. One person zipped by to ask how our meal was. Felt like an obligation rather than a genuine question.
Fresh seafood. Great cocktails. Fantastic service. We will be back.
Always Great Service & Amazing Seafood !!!
As always , perfect .
My husband and I heard about this gem of a restaurant through Open Table and decided to give it a try. Well...let’s just say we have been there twice in a week. The food was amazing, service superb and atmosphere quite friendly. The Smoked Salmon Board was phenomenal (both times) and both versions of the Lobster Roll were mouth watering! And then there were the Crabcakes...AWESOME!
You definitely have to try this hot spot!
The food was great, the service even better. Loved the ambiance. Options for vegans!
Very fresh ingredients and delicious food. Terrific wait staff makes excellent recommendations. It’s a very friendly atmosphere. The owner was sitting across from us at the bar, and our waiter introduced us. His goal is to be a neighborhood restaurant where you’ll see your neighbors.
