Always Great Service & Amazing Seafood !!!
My husband and I heard about this gem of a restaurant through Open Table and decided to give it a try. Well...let’s just say we have been there twice in a week. The food was amazing, service superb and atmosphere quite friendly. The Smoked Salmon Board was phenomenal (both times) and both versions of the Lobster Roll were mouth watering! And then there were the Crabcakes...AWESOME!
You definitely have to try this hot spot!
The food was great, the service even better. Loved the ambiance. Options for vegans!
Very fresh ingredients and delicious food. Terrific wait staff makes excellent recommendations. It’s a very friendly atmosphere. The owner was sitting across from us at the bar, and our waiter introduced us. His goal is to be a neighborhood restaurant where you’ll see your neighbors.
While the menu is somewhat limited, it has great choices and the food and presentation are excellent. Top quality service as well. Definitely will be a go-to place for us when we are craving seafood.
I have had better meals at TJ's...the fish and chips was a very disappointing dish.
Best seafood in town. And fresh too. Its hard to beat a good bargain and you definitely get what you pay for
Excellent as always. The drinks here are well prepared and consistent. I highly recommend the old fashioned and the pimm’s cup. The truffle fries with the old bay aioli were an amazing starter and the lobster Mac and cheese shareable will never be a health conscious meal but quite delicious!
I had the simply grilled fish of the day with two sides. Very well seasoned and tasty. Will definitely go back.
Got there and they lost our reservation. Took over 15 minutes to get a table.
A wonderful place to celebrate with those close to you while enjoying some fantastic seafood!
The food and service was excellent.
We will be back.
Small space, can be very loud and cramped but food is well executed and service is excellent. I’m really surprised the waitstaff doesn’t crash into each other more often as they are buzzing around endlessly. Still though very efficient and attentive. The inside is dated but clean. You dont even notice it when the food arrives. The dishes are simple but again well executed. Will definitely be high on my list for seafood!
Terrific seafood with prompt and friendly wait staff. A must visit in Dallas
great food, excellent service- acoustics horrible, noise level distracting
restaurant was just okay service was inconsistent
wouldn't rush back
Tried to celebrate birthday valentines dinner. I don’t mind price fixe, but the food was cold, portions super small and they ran out of dessert. Service was hurried and for the value it was abominable. Usually this restaurant has delicious fresh fish and this was poor quality and disappointing. Guess they were just trying to capitalize on the day and fleece its customers. Not sure we will ever go back.
Tasty Seafood, nicely presented, varying seasonings and textures, with for me perfect portions.
Noise level OK and Happy.
Paleo type options of seafood.
Wait staff helpful.
Fantastic seafood! We had the Mahi and the crab cake. Both were awesome and the service was great too.
Great neighborhood spot. Fresh seafood abound and great service. Lively atmosphere, reasonable prices. We will be back.
Good as always!
It was a busy evening and yet the food and service were both outstanding
The seafood was amazing!
We went specifically for the food – it was absolutely delicious. We had the collar and salt fries to start with and the shared the seafood tower. The seafood was absolutely delicious. The oysters are the the freshest from the northeast I've had so far in Dallas. It was unpretentious, casual, and relaxed. Our server was very accommodating as well. We look forward to returning.
Delicious and fresh seafood. Professional service, good ambiance, clean, clean, clean
I am a fan of T.J.'s but this visit was truly awful. The wait for service, for salads, for dinner was all incredibly long. Add to that the wait for items that were forgotten (i.e. sauces, side plates, etc.).
My husband got the new linguine with clam sauce - $25 for 4 clams! We complained and the waiter said it should have been 7 (which is still not worth the money). To the waiter's credit, he did bring a free dessert to help make up for it but that was not something any of us wanted.
I ordered the special Branzino. I guess "special" stands for "tiny fish that is overcooked because we have had it too long."
So, I will go back to T.J.'s in hopes that this was a one off bad experience. Hopefully it will be better next time because in the past it has been a highly dependable seafood meal.
Great food and service. Fresh catch with eggs and spinach was outstanding for brunch.
Can never go wrong at TJs. One of my all time faves. One thing I will note, I am currently doing the whole30 challenge and had read that TJs had many options. I told the waitress about my dietary restrictions and ordered the shrimp and fish tacos on bibb lettuce. My meal was brought out with aioli on top, however that was not mentioned on the menu. Just something to be wary of for people that are trying to watch exactly what they eat and want to know all the ingredients. Thanks!
Cocktails, food & wine selection were excellent. Fish cooked perfectly. Will definitely be returning!
The food was very good but the Branzino fillet was very small.
Food was dietary perfect, noise level was a little high to visit but they let us stay late without running or rushing us off. Waiter was absolutely superb - top notch!
For sure coming back again
Great seafood!!! Great service. TJ's has the freshest seafood and creative in design.
I have shared some personal concerns with the restaurant in private - The restaurant was clean and food was good. A little pricey for the presentation. They absolutely ascribe to the principle that if "you have to ask the price you probably can't afford it" as the market price of a lobster dish was never disclosed until I received the check. I don't think they care that I am a Open Table VIP. If I was treated so cavalierly I'm a little concerned about Tyne average joe😕
Perfect spot for celebrating family birthdays. Good food and service and not NOISY or loud with music!
Took a little long to get our food even though the restaurant wasn't that busy.
TJ’s is amazing!! Love eating there! The service is phenomenal!
First visit. Excellent service and food. Will definitely be back.
TJ's does it again great food, knowledgeable waiters. I also forgot to mention the oysters, they are excellent! We just discovered this little gem about 6 months ago and we love it. Make sure you make a reservation, even at the last minute.
Service was good although the waiter seemed a bit pressed. Calamari was excellent. Cobia was dry and overcooked. Crab cakes were good but the presentation was boring. Desert very average. We had the panna cotta. We would probably give brunch or lunch a try before dinner again.
I read the recommendation that TJ's -- one of the best "neighborhood" restaurants in Dallas, so we went with "expectations." We found it to be no better than lots of restaurants that serve seafood. Not as good as many. The waiter was good, pleasant and tried to be prompt and helpful, but we found TJ's way over priced for what you get in quality, elegance, and atmosphere.
Consistently fresh and simply but well-prepared seafood. A family favorite.
