TJ's Seafood Market and Grill - Royal
Excellent food, friendly service, perfect for date night.
Food is great. Atmosphere is comfortable. Staff is attentive. Highly recommend.
Great local spot for fresh fish and traditional seafood restaurant favorites. We eat here regularly.
The food was good and the service attentive but I think it was overpriced. The portions were on the small side compared to similar restaurants.
Nice place, I think I caught them on an off night. I will go back again and make different selections from the menu.
This was our first visit to TJ's Royal location. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. Sophie was a great server. All entrees were excellent. On our next trip to Dallas, we will be back at TJ's.
Excellent seafood neighborhood restaurant!
Loved it! Great food and service!
It was very loud. We had a reservation but we were seated at an odd-shaped table in a corner. One of our guests was very far from the rest of us and we had to speak really loudly to hear each other. Food was good but won't return at that busy time of day.
Everything was very nice. Ashley rocked!
The food was spectacular! Incredibly delicious. My wife had sea bass and I had the daily special which was cod. My only suggestion is about the noise level. With hard floors and surfaces it was loud. But overall I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Immediately spilled two full drinks and the staff took care of everything immediately. Food was awesome
Disappointed that I reserved a table for valentines and the establishment was not honoring reservations. Waited a little bit over an hour to be seated. Recommend on big days like this the establishment disable reservations on the app. Very disappointed with the wait but once we were seated everything was great.
Overall everything we had was delicious and the service was great. We only have one complaint- the portion sizes for the sea bass , cod, and cocktails, were small for the price point.
We eat at Tj's a lot!! The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. A favorite spot near our home.
We went for Sunday brunch with high expectations since TJ’s has been voted Best Brunch. We both ordered a White cranberry mimosa; it sounded delicious but it was just champagne with 3 cranberries floating in it. Nothing special. The Lake Austin Migas were very good; there could have been more tortilla strips to the amount off eggs. My friend ordered the lump crab frittata but was disappointed by how little crab there was in the dish - it was mostly just an egg dish. She ate very little of the dish and when the waiter picked up our dishes she never asked how it was. One could see she did not care for it and left 80% uneaten. We were really hoping for a better brunch - had brunch at a nearby restaurant the day before which was much better and less expensive.
Overall a pleasant experience. The service was good and the fish preparation above average, although both my and my wife's entrees were over salted to our taste.
Shrimp appetizer was really good.
The ambiance was more casual and functional - I was hoping for a slightly more upscale feel as were entertaining a friend from the west coast.
Having said that- we would go back - the fish is good.
It was just ok. I’m from the east coast so I know good seafood and while the seafood seemed fresh, the preparation was just ok and not as good as I had hoped for the value (seemed slightly overpriced in my opinion). Staff seemed a bit scattered but very friendly and service overall was ok to good (like they were trying hard but the follow-through wasn’t totally there).
I’d go back to try their happy hour but probably wouldn’t highly recommend as a go to spot for good seafood.
Ambiance was nice!!
I will not be back as this was an extremely average experience for over average prices. Portions were very small given the price. The scallops dish had 3 medium sized scallops only. The fish and chips had 2 pieces of fish that were about 3 inches long each and less than an inch in diameter. The chilean sea bass was not thick and buttery like most of chilean sea bass. It was not even 1/2 inch in thickness. I'm suspicious they substituted a different fish, even though I double checked. The room was VERY noisy. It was difficult to hear the person across the table. A disappointment.
The food and service was great. Sean was our server and took great care of us. TJ's exceeded our expectations
We waited a long time for our meal and then one person in our party had to wait even longer. We all waited with our food getting cold. We were offered free dessert, which was appreciated but our food was a BIG disappointment.
Always reliable for fresh seafood and fun atmosphere.
This is one of our favorite regular places. The food is always excellent and service friendly without being intrusive. The menu changes with the season and there are seasonal craft cocktails along with a good wine list and stocked bar.
Great family meal! The oysters were fresh and delicious. My fish tacos were tasty and my husband’s lobster cioppino was outstanding. Our server was super friendly and attentive to our needs. We would highly recommend TJ’s Seafood Market!!
Love TJs. Had the fish and chips today and the fish was soggy today. 🥴
TJ's had great, hight quality seafood. The service is always good as well.
Food and service were great as always! Very fresh and creative cuisine. We are fans!
Great fresh Fish!!! Freshest around the area! Service was fantastic! Will be back!
My wife and I were on our way to a show at the Winspear. We were looking for a new restaurant to try and TJ's was listed as one of the top seafood places in Dallas. The food was good, but not extraordinary. I would recommend it, but it didn't knock my socks off like I hoped and expected. We will try it again, but it didn't have the WOW factor.
I was in town for 3 days. Ate the first night at TJ's and returned the next night to eat again. The red fish was wonderful.
This dinner was for my son’s birthday and going away family dinner before my daughter went back to college. It as a perfect family dinner!
Reception sent us to bar to wait while we stared at our empty reserved table. After 15 min of her confusion we were finally seated at our waiting empty table.
Lobster Chopino had rancid shellfish. Shellfish had not opened and the ones that did open contained tough inedible shellfish and smelled strange. Manager refused to admit the dangerous shellfish and turned it into a negotiation vs make the customer happy. We left very unhappy and will not return.
My friend and I had a lovely dinner here on Saturday! We got to sit at one of the adorable two-person booths by the bar. It was the perfect place to catch up with a friend over some awesome food and wine. Sophia our server was such a sweetheart! The manager was also a super helpful when it came to picking out our wine for the evening. We love TJ’s and can’t wait to go back. Also- get the crab cakes! They’re amazing.
Both locations are great! The Royal Ln location is a bit bigger - both are very cute. Perfect for a date night. They had a 1/2 off wine bottle special on NYE which was wonderful. The Caesar salad is the best I've ever had.
Nice for New Years Eve!
Continues to be a high quality seafood dining experience. Some change in wait staff, but both food and service continue to be solid.
As always excellent. It’s becoming our “go to” family place.
