We dined there for Thanksgiving. The service was excellent as well as the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

TJ Stone's was a fantastic surprise as we looked for a close dining experience. Was originally going to try to dine at a chain restaurant, but weather conditions prompted me to look within a block of my hotel. The experience was fantastic from the moment we walked in with inviting customer service. Our waitress that I will affectionately refer to as "Harliquinn", made us feel super special! To top all the great attention, the food was fabulous. All three meals (beef brisket, salmon-corn risotto, and grilled meatloaf) were exceptional and had us talking about them the next day. Definitely will return next time in DC area.

Always good service from Chelsea and very nice gourmet seasonal specials ! Had scallops with a mashed sweet potatoe and red cabbage and a creamy sauce with bacon. Amazing !!

Good menu, good food, good service, good prices. It's off the main King Street drag, which is a good thing. Very popular. Get there early on a Saturday night.

The atmosphere was very nice. My wife and I enjoyed the food with no complaints! The brisket was the best in my opinion. The wait staff was great and our server really helped make my wife’s birthday feel special. We will go back anytime!

Definitely on the outskirts of Georgetown, about 5 mins drive from the main shops, bars and restaurants. Great food and service. Typical bar ambiance, with an adjacent dining room if you want to get away from the bar / TVs. Cool space, great place to hang out with a friend or group.

The atmosphere was a bar, basically. There were a couple of large loud groups. The food was fine, but not delicious.

I've been to this place a lot, but never for brunch. There was a great food selection and it was easy to snag a table. The service was outstanding, and my friend and I really appreciated not being rushed (as a lot of brunch spots try to get you out the door quickly). I'll definitely go back.

We were there on trivia night, so it was quite lively and loud in the bar area, that spilled into the dining area. The dining area also had poor lighting, and 'old' eyes had a difficult time reading the menu. But the food and service were good, and we had a nice time.

Came in for a evening dinner date with my wife, and enjoyed a basic repast with our daughter (age 9). Kid friendly dining was available, and we played tic tack toe while waiting for the food to arrive. The Gouda tater tots are pretty good, as is the seafood. My wife's chicken was said to be good as well, and the chicken fingers were good sized on my daughter's plate. Most importantly is the beer and wine selection, which is excellent. While the Boddington's came in a can, the Guinness was draft, and my mixed drink (local blackberry whiskey-mint julip) was pretty good. We never made it to dessert, but I would expect it to be good too. The noise level at the bar can be loud at times, but the restaurant moderated the noise level well, and there was a private dining area for a small group of up to twenty, if needed. For me, this is a safe bet, and one I will return to often - especially for people from out of town who don't want to go to old town or into DC. It can be private, or good for a small dinner group if desired. And the food options are pretty good, and "basic americana" in origin.

I love that this place is blocks from my home. I have never had a bad meal. Mondays is half price burgers and half price bottles of wine...whats not to like. I would ask for Chris as a server, while not very chatty, he is awesome and quick, very attentive and you never have an empty glass when he is around. Justin is great too, and also really tall! Kitchens open until 11pm, so late night fare is game on!

The service wasn't great, we had to wait a long time for our check (with kids it's a hassle) and the food wasn't bad, it was just very bland. The ambiance was nice and they have a huge beer list. It just felt like any chain sit down restaurant.

 (Baltimore)·Dined on March 13, 2017

The service was very good, very quick and yet not too pushy. The beer selection was great, something for every taste I'd say. The atmosphere was nice, and clean, not a typical bar setting, with booth seating and table seating as well as seating at the bar. The booths were also nice wood high back benches, but yet comfortable with proper cushioning.

The Caesar salad was very good, not too much dressing but enough to cover everything. The lettuce was also not wilted or warm as can sometimes happen in other places.

I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf as an entre; here is where the experience was somewhat lacking. The ground beef was somewhat chewy in texture, giving the impression it was lower quality meat. It may not have been but the texture wasn't the best. The bacon wrapping was good enough I suppose, slight hickory taste so that was good. It came with a side of cheese topped mashed potatoes which were very good, clearly homemade (with real potato lumps) and not from any mix.

The meatloaf was unfortunately topped with a rather spicy red sauce of some variety. This is what I found most disappointing, for me meatloaf shouldn't have anything spicy associated with it. I'm not much for spice anyway so maybe others wouldn't find it too spicy but I thought it was, again especially for meatloaf. It didn't make it inedible but it wasn't as enjoyable a "comfort food" experience as I'd hoped. Later I had heartburn.

Overall though a better experience than I feared might be the case in a bar/restaurant. Fortunately the seating with tables was separated by a wall from the bar itself. Otherwise, the noise level may have been too much for a pleasant meal, especially since there was music playing in the bar area.

Some noise thus did spill over to the dining area, so it wasn't very quiet but it wasn't obtrusive. It was worth going back (not for the meatloaf but perhaps to try something else). It was still an enjoyable experience.

We have been regular patrons of TJ Stones for several years. Their chicken skewers are fantastic! The burgers, however, leave a lot to be desired. The meat had no flavor, nor did the cheese. Even at 1/2 price the meal was incredibly disappointing. We won't be back anytime soon.

2 of us had the kicking brisket hash with sunny side up eggs. Food was room temperature and eggs were too runny for sunny side up. Also too much hollandaise sauce that was bland and very little hash. Had to search under a sea of sauce. Manager aware and was nice and removed the two entrees. The Buba hamburger was the only entree that was worth it, wish I had known. Atmosphere was on dark side and an odor of fireplace. Will not visit again.
