Waitress was vey slow and food came out slow too. Asked manager for receipt and he told us to wait for waitress to get it for us, which took 5 min even though reataurant was half empty.
Very enjoyable meal and a nice quiet atmosphere.
Our third visit
A group of 4 of went to Tivolis $30 Dine Out which was great value. Often Dine Out meals are tiny, but all 3 courses were full size with plenty of tasty food. First time I was there for dinner, but I'd definitely go again.
They called me 10 days before my Christmas Eve reservation to cancel said reservation... Leaving me no time to make alternate arrangements. Ridiculous.
This review is tough. The food was good but we waited a long time to be seated and it seemed like our server didn't have time for us. She had to come back to verify one of our meals, and it was good she did because in the end, both meals were very good.
The restaurant was modern and bright but because of the location in the hotel, parking required front desk validation and the desk was busy.
The restaurant is empty at 7:30 and we were the only table. Hotel guests entered the pool from the restaurant and u can hear the door open/close and people from the pool too. In addition, they told u 15% tips will be added to your bill it doesn't matter how many people are dinning. The food is average if I paid this kind of price other Italian restaurant taste better .
Great food and great friendly service.
Service on this night however was very slow. Apparently an employee called in sick. While we understand, they should have a backup plan for this.
My husband and I went there for dinner with a Groupon. I bought the Groupon for $55 which consists of two appies, two entrees, & one dessert. Tivolis has a $21 three course deal thats effective everyday.. if you want to try Tivolis' - go without Groupon. Anyways, the food is good (not that big of a selection which makes it fairly easy to choose), the atmosphere is nice (even though there were lots of kids playing in the pool outside, my hubby and I were still able to converstate w/o needing to scream) - that's a plus, the service was great (very nice & friendly). The only bad thing was the mandatory 20% (or whatever it is) tip that apparently is applied when using Groupon.
Very average food. Paso Bucco was quite tough, as well as the lamb shank. Actually the 2 dishes taste about the same really, they added the same meat sauce. Entrees were quite underwhelming. To be fair, butter garlic prawns and turtle molten cake that we had were good.
The waitress told us that we had a mandatory 15% gratuity that would be added onto our bill and it would be based on the total food cost not the Groupon amount. There was nothing mentioned on the Groupon about this and we would not have chosen this place had the Groupon stated that the gratuity would be based on the full amount. I don't agree that the server should tell us how much we should be tipping when it is a family going out to eat on a Groupon. That alone left a bad taste in my mouth and although the food was good the ambiance was very lackluster and hardly anybody eating there
Disappointed by our first dinner at this hotel's restaurant. The servers were all new, as were the cooks, which explained the poor service. The food was okay, though over priced. I wouldn't recommend it with betters options nearby.
We had dinner reservations for 5pm. Waited until 515 and they still hadn't opened the doors. We went around and let ourselves in. Staff seemed surprised to see us. Wait staff were lovely , food not so much.
Ordered the steak bites and antipasto platter. Steak bites were okay. Overcooked and drowned in sticky sweet bottled sauce. Antipasto platter was lacking. 2 kinds of salami ( one was slightly green) a little tiny bit of prosciutto some lettuce and carrots for decoration. And two slices of field tomato with tiny pieces of mozzarella on top.4 olives.
Main dish didnt get better. My husband had the osso bucco and said it was tasty but not amazing. Risotto was just gummy and over cooked.
I had the veal cutlet which was tough,soggy and lacking flavour (i think it sat under the heatlamp too long) It had no crisp to the breading and was soggy
Served with 3 potato wedges ( not herbed roasted potatoes as the menu said) - could of been mccains. Just underwhelming.
Dessert was okay.
All in all it was a disappointment. We went on a discounted coupon and we're glad because full price would have been over 100 dollars for dinner.
Also the restaurant is right next to the pool so lots of yelling and shouting and kids coming through the restaurant in wet swimsuits. And they decided to prop open the door to the pool? Putting a water dispenser and some cups out by the pool and closing the door would help, as would some nice music. The a/c would work better with the door closed too.
Plus sides. Attentive staff. Nice looking place. Free parking (register your plate at front desk)
Negatives. Expensive, food is overpriced and underwhelming and they didn't seem to care that people were waiting.
Won't go again.
I can't fault the effort or politeness of the staff present, but apparently they were very shorthanded on the occasion. Service was very slow as a result, and our waitress repeatedly drew our attention to the slowness with self-deprecating remarks and apologies, which sadly only made it harder to look past and just enjoy the evening.
Of the food, the main meals were enjoyed by everyone there; no complaints at all. One person in our party ordered a dessert however - a tiramisu - and on the menu, the description is exactly as you would expect; no restaurant specific twists. Unfortunately, what arrived was nothing like it: a medley of whipped cream, sponge and raspberry coulis; no hint of coffee, cocoa powder, custard or liqueur in sight. We sent it back and the waitress briefly insisted that it was in fact their version of a tiramisu, before agreeing to remove it from the bill. She also applied a ~10% discount for the slow service which we thought was a kind gesture, but certainly wouldn't encourage us to return.
This place was quite disappointing. It was less a restaurant and more an extension of the lounge/bar. With only two servers, service was quite slow. Worst part was - the most expensive item on the menu - the steak - was poorly cooked and had to be returned. I can't imagine why I would go back for any reason. I really tried to be positive, but unfortunately it went downhill from the time I entered the "restaurant". Sorry Tivoli's...
We went for Mother's Day brunch. The buffet offered plenty of variety and even pleased my mother, who usually sticks with Chinese food when eating out.
Although the food items were not labelled for any special dietary restrictions (my wife is allergic to wheat, and can use the gluten-free options on a menu), the chef was very accommodating to my wife's needs and brought out a couple of different desserts that were not on the usual brunch menu.
Overall, a very enjoyable brunch.
The restaurant was woefully understaffed. The server was new and was not well acquainted with the menu. The food was just ok. Wouldn't eat there again unless snowed in and unable to leave the hotel.
Sunday buffet brunch was good as usual. When server came to offer refill of coffee, I asked for a fresh cup (it had been sitting too long and coffee was cold) he continued to refill. Another server came and replaced the coffee with a fresh brew. Sorta disappointing the first server did that considering he is the manager/owner. Other than that the restaurant as good.
Food was acceptable, nothing special about this place . Waitress was on alone and not happy about it. I had been here in the past and it was much better
My friend and I met there for Dine out Vancouver. Food was average, service was terrible. The server was hurrying needlessly as we were the only people in the restaurant to start with as we got there at 5pm. He kept rushing us to make decisions. Seemed very flustered and then when he brought the bill didn't ask if we wanted it split first. when we asked him to do so he rushed off without a word and when he came back he seemed to have great difficulty with the fact my friend wanted to pay by Amex. When it didn't work he said it must be her card and could she try another, which she did with the same error message on the wireless terminal. As both my friend and I work in IT we advised the server that the terminal needed to be returned to its base station to pick up a wireless signal. He told us that was not the case and that there was a problem with the cards. He then wanted to try mine to which i refused and said he needed to get another terminal. He said he didn't have one. So then he dragged us outside to the hotel foyer to pay there. Very bad experience. Would not return. The tables are also so crammed in that you cannot walk between them and we found it very difficult to actually find a way out as by now there were more people and we couldn't move chairs around to get through.
Went for dine out Vancouver. Both the Chicken and Fish dish included meat which I think should be taken out so that people who don't eat red meat have more options.
All food had to be sent back as it was very cold. Took 2.5 hours for dinner. Was so much better last year but you are only as good as your last meal.
It was closed and there was no update on opentable nor website. This was a Reservation to nothing as didn't get a dining experience only disappointment. The group showed up and we had to make last minute plans on the spot. This was frustrating on a Friday night to find another place to celebrate.
The experience was a disaster right from the time I arrived. Didn't get as far as ordering food. Will never go back.
Great service and ambience! Our waiter super friendly and assisted us with fresh waffles right from the kitchen! Excellent service!
This was a great Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet ! Great food and a nice place for families to celebrate together. We will be back
My wife and I had a great experience here last night. We had their Thanksgiving dinner which consisted of a three course meal.
The soup or salad was good to start, even more so the quinoa salad. It was served on a small crepe kind of wrap in three small portions. The butternut squash soup was a bit too sweet for my liking.
Next up was the Turkey dinner, quite a generous portion with the stuffing served in the form of a sliced cake. Really juicy and not dry at all.
Dessert was scrumptious, though the pumpkin pie was quite tasty the Rosemary Raspberry sorbet was to die for. The Rosemary enhanced its taste to which is difficult for me to describe.
Overall an excellent experience.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu ordering. The ambiance was nice as we were able to have comfortable conversation along with some good food and a bottle of wine. I would highly recommend it and look forwards to going back.
It's located in a hotel so it's typical of that type of scene. The food is awesome. Went back the next morning for breakfast and it was great too. Their brunch deal looked really good so give it a shot. Good for a business meeting.
I came here to try out their Wednesday pasta night. At first, it sounded like a good deal - build your own pasta for $10. We arrived at about 6pm, aside from us, there were only 2-3 other tables occupied inside and 1 outside. As we perused the menu further, we realized that none of the pastas included any meat, except for the carbonara which had bacon. You have the option to add meat, but at an additional cost (e.g., chicken for $4, meatball (singular) for $3, or prawns for $8). The "deal" wasn't much of a deal after all.
Our server was really frazzled and all over the place. She took our order (with pen and paper): 1 carbonara penne, 1 carbonara spaghetti w/ chicken, 1 linguine curry w/ meatball. IMO, not a difficult order. But for some reason, she still came back to our table a total of 4 times to clarify some mix-up. I would have been more understanding if she were new, but it didn't seem so. And if she was, it wasn't made known to us. Even after repeating our order 4 times, it was still wrong. Both carbonaras came with no meat and the linguine curry came with chicken. I don't blame our server, she never gave up and was trying her best; that's all we could ask. I blame the lack of training provided to her. While she was constantly running around, the other server was socializing with other patrons, and at the same time, giving her orders to tend to various things. If that was her "training", there's something very wrong here.
We waited a very long time for our meal, and seems we weren't the only ones. Someone from a table outside had to come inside numerous times just to get some service.
At the end, we were brought the meatball on the side. We found the add-on portions to be very inconsistent. The meatball came as 1 meatball, slightly bigger than a golf ball. But there was ample chicken in the other dish, at least 6 chicken strip sized pieces. The food was actually quite delicious. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I'm not rushing back.
Restaurant was ok. I've had better. The location wasn't what I expected. The waitstaff seemed very short handed and our waiter was the only guy servicing about 8 tables at once. He seemed a little stressed out but he did a good job and was very nice. We received our food in a reasonable amount of time. The food was acceptable but not great. My pasta was really heavy on the garlic. My husband had the osso buco and said it was dry and not "falling off the bone" as it should be. It wasn't terrible, but if you're looking for an amazing Italian meal, you might want to look somewhere else.
The food was amazing! It was artfully presented, fresh and loaded with flavor. I had the baked salmon, which was cooked to perfection (not at all dry). The risotto was exceptional and plentiful. The rest of the plate was covered in a light, herbed lemon butter, which was hot and had a completely distinct flavor from the rest of the food - a perfect compliment to the fish.
When I sat down, the waiter did not bring water or offer to take a beverage order, and although the restaurant was not at all busy, I had to draw the waiter's attention away from chatting with another staff member. Once both of us were seated, the service was excellent and again, the food was excellent.
The restaurant itself is understated (simple elegance, not showy) but quite nice. Linen napkins would add elegance. We did not have wine but I did notice some good selections in a display case. The menu focuses on 2-topping personal pizzas with a few mains and a good selection of appetizers. The calamari was not the "pretty" rings that most restaurants use (which makes me suspect they were actually hand-made) but the batter was light and crunchy, and the dipping sauce was out of this world. I would have gladly eaten the dip with a spoon.
I would definitely recommend Tivoli's for lunch, especially for a business lunch, where it's important to not have to yell to be heard over the noise of other patrons.

The food tasted like previously as though it was frozen and then "microwave " food lacked flavor.
The starters - calamari and beef bites were palatable but our main courses were disappointing, we would never eat there again.
However, our waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive.

Went for Sunday brunch. Food was cold, tasty, but cold. Ordering a fresh omelet or fresh waffle was the best choice. Lots of salads and meats and cheeses. Good variety of desserts. Coffee service was poor. Host was rude to some people who wanted a table for 4. Acted as if it was am inconvenience but the place was only a quarter full.
The portion size of the food at Tivoli's was quite big. We went for dineout menu. The dessert was great. Also, our server was very nice and helpful.
Nice relaxing environment with large glass windows looking out back to the swimming pool.
The bar in the distance looked quiet but probably anyone sitting in there could have a nice friendly conversation with the bartender.
Our servers were friendly and attentive and the prawns and lamb were both delicious.
The steak bites appetizer was also very good. The chocolate bundt dessert was fabulous!
I didn't even feel guilty eating it all...
That made up for the tastless soup broth...will definitely go back again...
I have been going to Tivoli's for lunch and often brunch for several years and the food is always good and the price reasonable. It's a great lunch spot if you actually want to be able to hear what your companions are saying--- a nice quiet atmosphere.
