This was not our first visit to Tisha's. As always the food was a delight. However, the service was very slow. Uncharacteristically, the restaurant was not full, but there seemed to be a sense of the staff being rushed. ???? WE'll go back in the fall after the crowds of summer are gone.
Wonderful specials. The crab cake is absolutely the best I've ever had. My wife tried to stab me with her fork after I tried to steal a bite of hers! It was that good.
Good food. Nice service. No bar. Sterile but sophisticated atmosphere. Not particularly kid-friendly but not too bad. Pricey. Always visit once on our annual week vacation to Cape May.
Have dined here several times and the meal is always fantastic!.... Although we do miss the sorbet between courses....
we came back for a second year in a row because everything was excellent the first time. This time, not so much. I got the dinner potion of the pumpkin gnocchi. Pricy dish. Not only was their hardly any gnocchi, but it was overcooked a slightly burnt. This dish is not worth the cost. The salmon is by far their best dish and worth the cost. Service is also excellent here.
Excellent. They accommodated my allergy with no problems.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We can always count on superb food and service. We like the feeling of not being rushed. We like that the plates are cleared when everyone's meal is finished.
Mushroom soup is outstanding. Also, Oyster Po-Boy was tasty on a nice, soft bun.
This was not my first visit to Tisha's.......nor will it be my last. As always the food was fresh and prepared delightfully........ We originally were going to take advantage of the Cape May restaurant week menu...... However we were pleasantly surprised to find that on the regular menu was several additional options offered at the same price. Do you yourself a favor and try out this hidden Gem!
Although the service was excellent, I would have to pass on the food. The food was average. We had calamari served in a strange sauce and the entrees were just ok. We sat inside, in the back room and the ambiance is lacking with a stained drop ceiling I would see in an old basement. The outdoor tables would be a better choice for ambiance.
Been there several times and have never been disappointed. Food and service, terrific!
You can always count on good food at Tisha's no matter what meal or time of day
Get dinner establishment. Food always great. Highly recommend.
Tisha's remains a go-to standout on the Mall in Cape May. Excellent fish--don't miss the halibut when offered as a special and the lobster risotto appetizer is always a hit Great lunch with lobster salad sliders and gourmet burgers. Service is polished at attentive without being obtrusive.
Cute little spot on the main shopping drag in Cape May. Outside dining offered. BYOB. Great food, decent prices. My husband and I shared the lobster risotto appetizer that was devine . My husband had the polenta with shrimp and hot peppers. He loved it. I had the pasta with the seafood that was amazing. For dessert we shared the ice cream filled cream puffs. The portions were generous. Would definitely return.
We had dinner during the Memorial Day weekend. Place was busy but with Open Table not problem. Deanna was our server. She was attentive, friendly, professional and funny, the kind of mix we really appreciate.
Food was very good, Curry Scallops Risotto are one of a kind and delicious, if you like spicy, which I do. Also the Scampi Carponata was extremely good. We didn't byob and enjoyed a good Cape May Riesling. Everything was rounded out with a perfect double Espresso. When reviewing the check we noticed that considering the high quality of the food and service this was appropriately priced; a good deal we would recommend again.
Tishas never disappoints... the appetizers and entrees are so incredibly tasty, we wanted to lick our plates clean but managed to restrain ourselves. Their halibut, and Thai curry dishes, are by far the best we've had anywhere.
Normally a great experience. Service seemed rushed and unfriendly this time. No smiles, no eye contact which is unusual for such a popular restaurant. Overall food was fine but like others, surprised that salad was no longer included. Our kale salad was very very salty. Maybe because of anchovies. Would have been nice if waitress gave us a friendly hint. The halibut special was good but not worth $44. Getting only 3 string beans does not qualify as being served with a vegetable. Couldn't even mention anything to waitress because she was never around long enough to care what we thought. Dining here this time was not as good as in the past.
Rockin seafood risotto! One of the best seafood meals I've had. My Wife had the scallop special which she raved about. Tisha's is on the higher price side but I don't have a problem with that when the food is excellent and so is the service, which they were. BYOB is a good idea. You can't get a glass of wine, it only comes by the bottle. We sat outside on the mall and enjoyed some people watching. They also have a outside patio in the rear .
A must stop when in Cap May for us.
This dining experience was perfect for three old friends. We were seated promptly for our 7:00 pm reservation in the larger of two dining rooms. Service was courteous and quick. My companions raved about the New England clam chowder. We traded thoughts about the entrees, and each decided on the filet au poivre. Great choice, perfectly prepared to each persons request, on a heavenly bed of mashed potatoes with a serving of crisp tender green beans in a rich jus, topped with Gorgonzola butter. The ambience was busy but quiet, lighting romantic, very unrushed. I would definitely try this place again to explore their brief but varied menu of American classic dishes. Good value, paid what I would have expected for such good food!
This is the second time we had lunch here and both visits were outstanding. The food is excellent and the service is equally great.
Looking forward to going back for dinner.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
I have found Tisha's to be a very comfortable place to dine. I have had both lunch and diner there several times and have recommended this place to many who have found my finding to be favorable, however, I was surprised to find that the complementary salad was no longer included. It was a nice addition to the meal. I will have second thoughts about returning partly for this reason.
Our entrees were delicious!! Loved the fact we could bring our own wine or buy from their wine list. Would definitely recommend dining here!! We'll be back for the filet which was cooked a perfect medium and so tender!
I made reservations for Tishas after being told it was a fantastic spot in cape may for dinner. Turns out, I was less than pleased. The staff comes off as very unfriendly. It was clear from the moment our server came over we were going to be rushed out. Although the food was exceptional, I do not like feeing as though I'm less important than the next customer. Both the mushroom and lobster bisque were delicious, as well as the shrimp and polenta. Seeing our server looking impatiently over our shoulders waiting for us to finish each course really took away from the experience. The veal saltimbocca and halibut were fantastic, and when we were done with that we weren't even offered dessert. The server asked if she could bring us the check and we asked to see the dessert menu, she looked less than pleased. When she came back to take our dessert choices, we almost didn't have the chance to ask for coffee. Again, the food was delicious, but I'd consider trying another spot in cape may before returning here.
Last year we went snd loved tishas. We went Thursday night excited to go back and were so disappointed. We had to ask for bread and received two pieces of hard bread. We got our dinner which was good, no complaints there but then instead of being offered any coffee or dessert like last time, our server brought our check and said have a nice night. Very disappointed this time and won't go back.
My husband & I come for special occasions thru out the year. It is one of our favorite spots. Food is good and the wait staff is superior.
We ate inside and overall I thought it was comfortable and had a relaxed atmosphere. The menu was limited and had more seafood choices but the food was good. The house salad was almost too large, and the chicken entree was delicious. My husband had a polenta appetizer and the special which were both good. Our waitress seemed very rushed which changed the relaxed atmosphere a little, but we still managed to enjoy ourselves.
came for lunch on Mother's Day and it was fabulous! The lobster salad alone was well worth the trip. The only down side was that it is BYOB and we weren't aware of that. BUT we will most definitely go back again (with our bottle of wine!)
This was our third time at tisha's the food ,service and overall welcoming atmosphere is always the same just a great time.
P.s. Our server marybeth could not be more helpful in granting our every need.
this is our go to place for special occasions! My wifes birthday, our anniversary or mothers day this is the place my wife loves to go to. The riisito's that we've had are the best we've ever had. The staff is always warm abd friendly. The outside seating areas let you people watch the walk in cape may. Its was a great meal .
