Food was good. Waitress was helpful and patient. Loud, party atmosphere.
Great food and service, excellent beer selection..will be back again
The Turkey Club would have been amazing, if not for the limp tomatoes and under-toasted bread, but at least the turkey was plentiful. We were early, before the lunch crowd, so we may have gotten yesterday's tomato. The fries were crisp and dry - excellent! The home-made veggie burger was OK, could have been more flavorful. Service was attentive and we would return.
We took out of townnguests here and were embarrassed. Our server was terrible, he messed up 2 of 7 food orders, and was rude on top of that. Never again!
Good Irish Pub food. The service was good. Nice atmosphere.
The food was great and the server was sweet and attentive.
Joe our server was terrific.... we were there to pregame for the big Eagles NFC championship. It was perfect... Thanks
The only thing worse than the food was the service.
Our order was not correct, we waited so long for dessert that we finally told our waitress to skip it, and it was so loud we couldn't talk. Food was good but lots of places have good food. We won't be back.
Nice atmosphere. Food was pretty good. Good value for price. Service wasn’t so great.
If you're looking for an after work drink, by all means go. It's a typical pub. We went to eat and were seated promptly, but after that...
We ordered an appetizer that never arrived. I ordered the fish and chips, which should be good here, but it was soggy.
Celebrating running the half marathon
BAR DRINKS WERE EXCELLENT. FOOD TASTED GOODS BUT PORTIONS WERE TOO SMALL FOR THE PRICE. SERVER RECOMMENDED TURKEY POT PIE. IT CAME IN A SHALLOW DISH WITH, MAYBE, THREE PIECES OF TURKEY AND THE REST SAUCE. DISAPPOINTING. SERVER STATED SALAD WAS INCLUDED. ENTRE CAME WITHOUT SALAD. SERVER RECANTED STATING "I GUESS NO SALAD". OUR BILL WAS $125+ AND WE TIPPED OUR SERVER $31...WE ARE GENEROUS PEOPLE. THE FOUR OF US ENJOYED YOUR PLACE BUT WERE NOT HAPPY WITH PORTION TO PRICE RATIO. I EMAILED YOU THAT NIGHT FROM HOME ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE BUT NO REPLY. WE WOULD LIKE TO TRY AGAIN BUT ARE HESITANT.
Great service. Excellent fish and chips and Magnus on tap
Philly Marathon weekend
Kirsten was great and food and atmosphere as well
Great place for comfort food lunch with work friends. Good food, great service - nice experience!
Decent enough for a drink and a quick bite on a late Friday afternoon. Food was not anything above bar quality. Decor was a terrible mock of Ireland. Tap lines have not been cleaned in ages based on taste of draft beer.
Disappointing. This was my second visit, about one year apart. We ordered one of the specials (not very special) pot roast. Meat was dry, tasteless, and had a lot of fat. The restaurant, normally crowded, was not crowded at all - good for date, so we could talk, but not very lively. Two mistakes from the kitchen on a slow Friday night. Oh well
Good food, food place to watch sports.
A great pub. Good food, nice beer selection, fun place to watch a game.
Good menu friendly service.
Quick turn for lunch.
My friends and I randomly chose this spot because it had an open table for 7 people on short notice. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was good and everything we ordered came out in a timely manner.
We went there for lunch after my son's graduation from university. Booking a table on Open Table was very easy but it was also very empty so we had our pick of tables when we got there. The waitress was friendly but a little slow and given the lack of crowd that seemed odd. But when the food came out it was delicious as always and I would always recommend Tir Na Nog to anyone visiting Philadelphia.
Great lunch place. Nice atmosphere and good food. Wait staff was attentive but not overly so.
Good selection of beers and a lively bar atmosphere. Good location with nice outside dining available.
I took my work team here for dinner on Tuesday night. We had a 5:15 reservation for 8 people, and we were seated promptly. Our orders were also taken quickly, and the food came in a reasonable amount of time, but once we had our food, our original waitress disappeared, and we didn't see much of the one who replaced her. Most of the team seemed to enjoy their food (fish & chips, shepherd's pie, tacos), and the beer selection was very good. I decided to order the nachos rather than the fish & chips, which was probably a bad call on my part. Given that it's an Irish pub, I should have gone with the fish & chips, but the description of the nachos sounded good. They were too heavy on the refried beans and too light on the salsa. They also used a combination of real cheese (good) and cheese sauce (bad), the guacamole was pretty tasteless, and jalapenos would have been a good addition. The refried beans and cheese sauce quickly made the nachos very soggy. Stick with the more traditional pub foods.
Air na Og is a good standby for meeting friends for lunch - especially if they are coming from the burbs on the train as it is very close to Suburban station. The food is well-prepared and although not haute cuisine, it is very good comfort food and with good ingredients. I love the Shepherds Pie, and others recently had hamburgers, fish and salads that they said were excellent. It's very reliable and consistent in quality of food and service.
I know it's an Irish pub and therefore great wine is not a priority, but man, the two of the four reds I had were both just ugh. Other that that, a charming place in a convenient location that hides the fact that it is a chain very well. They have a remarkably good veggie burger and the service was very good :)
The food was good. But the service was the worst I've ever had (no exaggeration). In all my life, I've never walked out on a bill. But, I did at Tir Na Nog (note: I did leave money to cover the cost of my food.). The waiter simply ignored me the entire evening. He waited on all the tables around me, but consistently ignored me. I was a single diner. Not sure if that had something to do with why he didn't wait on me (but I don't see that as a reason for ignoring me). After my food was delivered (by a food runner), the waiter NEVER came back to check on me. Didn't leave me a bill. Thus, why I left. Too bad.
We returned to this pub because we'd had a good brunch experience and wanted to a place where a family group of 7 could talk and enjoy a meal together. The dinner experience was disappointing. The Irish stew was not authentic and didn't even taste good. Hamburgers and salad were passable, but one would expect more authentic dishes at an Irish pub, especially one named after a mythological land of Irish enchantment. The pub was very crowded so ambient noise unfortunately interfered with conversation.
Loved my time there, great food, great atmosphere. I was there during live entertainment.
The food is good. Nothing spectacular and not overpriced. Just good and very basic.
The staff is ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. The service is on point.
It's probably what keeps me coming back above all else.
First, very hard to find entrance. Listing address is misleading. Wings were good and generous. Shepherds Pie was tasteless. Service was erratic.
Perfect not-so-hangover brunch!
Had a lovely lunch. Had the fish & chips and my sister-in-law had the fish tacos. We also had wine with lunch and Irish coffee. Everything was delicious and very nicely presented. I felt it was a little pricey. $3 for a cup of tea seems a lot and our wine as about $7 a glass. The entrees were $17 each. But it was a nice day. Would go back again.
The food and drinks are always good. It is a very busy and loud restaurant but fun.
While the staff is very friendly and accommodating, the prices here for drinks are simply absurd. $15 for 1.5 ounces of a rye whiskey that I can get for $35 a bottle? Please. They have a great selection but clearly have no understanding of fair pricing for their top shelf stuff. The food is good, not a place to go for the food, per se. Atmosphere is quite beautiful.
I had the house burger which was awesome. I added the egg too! I wish the egg was more runny! But overall an amazing place to eat!
TIr Na Nog has a cozy neighborhood bar feel with a young clientele, but the bar did not overwhelm the rest of the restaurant. We were at a pleasant, quiet table towards the back. The food was good, solid casual fare. My husband, friends and I collectively enjoyed the beef stew, fish tacos and corned beef special. We chose it for its convenient walking distance from the Convention Center.
quiet dinner with my wife, the food was delicious and service was great would dine here again.
