Tir Na Nog Irish Bar & Grill - Times Square
Our 6,000 square ft space boasts several intimate dining areas with two fireplaces and two stone cottages. Choose from dishes like the classic shepherd's pie, pan roasted cod with lobster mash or a tender New York strip steak.
Everything was great.
Love this restaurant! I have come with 2 or 3 people and have had great food and service and I have come with my large family (13 of us) and have had the same great food and service. This is a fun, relaxed place and I highly recommend it!
The food was good and the environment very welcoming. Our server (unfortunately don't remember her name) was somewhat lacking in enthusiasm, in my opinion.
We had an awesome time before the show. Visitors here from Ireland and were very impressed.
Trish was amazing and attentive. Had plenty of time to have dinner, drinks and dessert and still make it to the show and get settled. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks so much for a great time.
Thank you for the wonderful review. Hope to see you here with us again!
It was so hot in the space it made for an uncomfortable meal. The service was great the food was just ok.
Don’t buy the so call New York strip steak, half was grisly fat.
Bar staff very good
Nothing special. I don’t know why they call it an Irish Pub, there was nothing Irish about it.
If you want a real Irish pub go to Playwrite Tavern.
Never disappoints - Love this place. Try the fish-and-chips....excellent!
Thank you for the great review! And we absolutely love the fish and chips as well with our homemade tartar sauce. Delicious! Hope to see you again ;)
Been here several times. Always a great experience with great food and ambiance
Hope you come again soon Thomas! Thanks for the kudos! :)
This is the second time I've had dinner at Tir Na Nog and it was just as good if not better than last time. The branzino was perfectly cooked, spinach and potato sides were delicious.
Thank you for the wonderful review Diane. The branzino is one of our personal favorites and it is our newest addition to our menu. We are glad you enjoyed it! Till next time! :)
Pretty standard Irish pub-style restaurant but less crowded than those closer to Times Square proper. We had a reservation but there were plenty of seats (Thursday, early pre-theatre dinner). The food was adequate nothing special but good enough. Service was friendly and attentive. Nothing to write home about but fine meal near Times Square.
Thank you for the review Christine! Hope to see you again soon. :)
The short ribs and potatoes were to die for. Absolutely loved our experience this weekend. Delicious food, a relaxing atmosphere, and attentive service.
We are looking forward to seeing you again. Thanks for the great review. The short ribs is one of our favorites as well!
Had a terrific St Paddy’s Day here! I love this restaurant because it’s so big. The design is beautiful and quirky, feels very Irish. Food was amazing! We all loved our dishes. I had the fish n chips. Best I’ve ever had. Service was a little slow, but excellent. We’ll definitely be back, but this time not just for St P Day!
Thanks for the wonderful review. We can't wait to have you here again soon! Till next time ;)
We went here before the Big East Tournament at MSG. It's the best pub before games at Madison Square Garden because it's close by - about a 5 min walk - yet it is not nearly as packed as the places just two blocks closer. We sat at a table in the bar area and Linda took great care of us - every time we finished a beer she was right there with another. We split of bunch of appetizers and as always, they were tasty and filling. This place makes the best chicken fingers in the world.
We had lots of drinks a great food here. A perfect date night! Plus the music was really fun!
Good food, nice selection of beers on tap. Service was very good and attentive
Thanks for the wonderful review John. Service is what we strive for, as well as you having a good time. See you next time! :)
Great Irish pub feel with the ambiance to match. Service and food was good and no delays in service. Overall a good experience
Thank you for the great review. We pride ourselves in delivering great food with great attentive service. Hope to see you again. Till next time!
Nice to know that this restaurant exists near Port Authority. I will be back!
We hope you will be back too!
Waitress was inattentive to us and the food was not anything to rave about, plus there was a nice long piece of hair in my spouses burger! Nasty!
Best Guinness outside of Ireland. Excellent service by Patricia. Best pork chops I’ve had ever!
Patricia enjoyed your company as well. The pork chops are one of our favorites too. Hope to see you soon. Thanks!
Always a good time. We go every few months since it never disappoints. Love the fish and chips! Risotto also gets high marks
Thank you for the great review! We are happy that you enjoy your time with us. And guess what? We enjoy hanging out with you too! The fish and chips and risotto are some of our favorites too. Till next time!
Fantastic food, very friendly staff, lain out of Restaurant is great, with having some very cosy places to eat in.
Thank you for the wonderful review Deborah. We thought you were fantastic too! Hope to have you here with us again soon!
A real find. Just off 8th Avenue. Very large pub with separate dining areas away from bar noice. Very welcoming staff and service with a smile. Watched the Pats Rams game and thought I was in Boston with all the Tom Brady shirts. A good raucous crowd.
Thanks for the kudos! We strive for the best atmosphere and service possible as well as great food and drinks. We are definitely the place to be to watch the Patriots play and for big games and events. Look forward to having you around again. Cheers!
Best place in NYC to watch Patriots Football! What a blast and a great crowd! Travel from Maine just to go at least once a year!
We also think it's the best place to watch the Patriots in all of NYC. We are a proud Patriots bar and welcome all Pat's fans to come join us! Thank you for stopping by and showing support!
Came in pre-theatre on tues. 1/8/19. Everything was GREAT! I had the pork chop, that was moist and DELICIOUS. Dining partner had the roasted chicken, DELICIOUS as well. Would highly recommend
Our Pork Chops and Roasted Chicken are some of our favorites! Hope you come back and try some of our other delicious food.. Thank you for the lovely review and we look forward to having you with us again. Cheers! :)
Great food and great service!!
Wonderful meal and waitress was very personable, Francesca
Always a great experience!!
Great service and lovely meals on Christmas Day. Was a little quiet in the bar area but the restaurant filled up as it got later-we had booked a table for 6pm as we were jet lagged!
Christmas Dinner offered several good options. Great service and a fair price. Steaks and cod were excellent.
Great ambiance and super staff. The second time we went to watch the Pats play.
Sunday brunch was a unique experience that included Irish bacon and sausages as well as the British breakfast tradition of baked beans. It was supposed to include black and white pudding, but we got toast instead. The British-pub ambience was cozy and the service friendly. Arriving for our 11 a.m. reservation, we were the first ones there which was relaxing after a crowded few days in New York. Brunch comes with a mimosa, bloody Mary, or screwdriver; my mimosa was delicious. I felt as though we found a hidden gem not far from Times Square.
We chose this place because it was literally right next to our hotel and had an interesting menu. The choices are far more than typical Irish Pub fare, with some different things like a corned beef arancini appetizer and Thai mussels which were both good. The double barreled old fashioned drink was very good, the rum punch only ok. And while we had a good experience for dinner, we went back after a show for drinks and ended up simply leaving after about 5 minutes because nobody came to seat us or even acknowledge our presence.
I HAVE BEEN TO BOTH LOCATIONS AND FEEL THEY ARE OUTSTANDING. MAITRE DE IS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND SERVERS ARE ATTENTIVE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE MENU. I HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS RESTAURANT MANY TIMES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES IN NYC!
If I knew it was patriot bar and they were playing at 1 which was when I made reservation I would not have come, I was getting together with non football fans all women. It was a little distracting , we all loved the food but too noisy for what our lunch was about.
Awesome place to see if Pats game
Very enjoyable, good food, nice atmosphere, staff very helpful, perfect table for my group.
My family group of seven went here for Thanksgiving dinner and were overwhelmed by the superb and inspired treatment of that traditional menu and the superior service. Highly recommended on every level for a solid dining experience of standard cuisine.
This is our ‘go to’ pre-theater restaurant because the 39th St location is on the way uptown from Penn Stn but not a tourist trap. The beer selection is great and the food selection is too. There is something for everyone from Irish menu items (which we recommend) to burgers and salads and a Sunday brunch. We came back again today so twice in one week!
