Tino's Italian Bistro
The pizza is good (if you compare to American pizza and not Italian). However, the pasta is mushy. We got the Chesapeake sauce with shrimp and the pasta, on both our dishes was over cooked and mush. We should have complained in person but we didn’t want to ruin our celebration (which is why we went). I would expect more from an pasta place. Service is attentive and friendly.
My girlfriend and I arrived for our reservation but we didn’t eat Tino’s. When we arrived, we spoke to the host about our reservation, he confirmed that it was in the system, and got menus prepared for our table. As we waited for our table, there was a tall white lady with blonde hair who approached us and yelled to us that it would 10 minutes before we would be seated. She didn’t speak to the host who was assisting us first about our reservation. She basically came in hot. She was yelling at us as if we didn’t speak English, like we foreigners. The host told her that we had a reservation. I don’t know what her deal was but she made an absolute fool of herself. Our interaction with her created a weird vibe for our visit. We eventually got seated outside near the fire pit and had to wait forever for our waiter to introduce himself. We were left waiting so long we decided to leave. The reviews had me really excited to experience Tino’s for myself. I did not experience the warm welcome others have described. I hate to play the race card but I honestly feel like my girlfriend and I were not given adequate service because we are minorities. It’s unfortunate but that was our experience at Tino’s.
Tino’s continues to be our go-to place for our Friday night date night. The food is exceptional, excellent bar staff/great cocktails and a very good wine selection. Very attentive service. Thank you, Tino’s!!
The food was excellent as was the service. If you enjoy Italian cuisine, you can't go wrong with Tino's!
Excellent food and service.
I love Tinos. Food is excellent, the service and staff are always welcoming and really nice and the prices are very reasonable for a sit down restaurant
Tino's is our favorite Italian restaurant in Howard County. The food is always consistently great, service is always great and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
This is the 3rd time I've dined at Tino's, each time with different friends and always enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. The food is always fresh and plentiful at a reasonable price. And kudos to the servers who are knowledgeable about the menu, ensure special prep requests are fulfilled, and are overall very pleasant and courteous.
My brother in law’s family enjoyed the food and liked the live ambiance. The only thing I noticed was my pasta is a little dry (with little sauce) and bland compared to the last time I had that was tasty. Overall, it’s a great place and the service was fast!
Great food and service
Love Tino’s. Amazing authentic Italian food, great ambience, and wonderful neighborhood gathering place for family and friends.
Always great food and service!! Lance and his team provide a most enjoyable experience!
Tino's food and service are usually very good. However, this visit we were quite disappointed ...as we were seated, we were told (by the hostess) we must vacate our table within an hour and half. We have never been told to leave a table by a certain time- especially having had a reservation! It's a shame the hostess ruined our experience, as the food was delicious. Hopefully, this is not the new way of treating diners with a reservation, and the next visit will be as remembered.
The service was excellent and our food was outstanding. There are plenty of delicious gluten free options for those who have Celiacs Disease. I will continue going to Tino's for the best Italian food in Columbia!
Very disappointing. Pleasant but inexperienced server who forgot soup, beverage refills and much else. Steak and cheese sub with little steak. Greek salad mostly plain lettuce. Brioche toast so dried out it was chewy. Chicken and broccoli with thin dried-out chicken. No wonder the place was almost empty at the height of brunch/lunch time on Sunday late morning.
The food was spectacular as usual. The server was not as attentive as we would have liked and as is typical at Tino’s.
Great food as usual!! A bit noisy due to a lot of people-but it was a Saturday evening. Love the Gluten free choices and excellent service.
first time visitor and will repeat! both my wife and I had chicken parm and it was excellent. house red was just OK, so will likely change it up next time
One of the better Italian restaurants in the area. Great cocktails, great food, great service. Highly recommended.
The food and waitress service were excellent!
This was our first time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was good, well plated and filling. The staff are very attentive. We had a reservation and we were taken to our table immediately. The manager of this restaurant is outstanding. Saw her several times walking around the restaurant to see how customers were doing. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like Italian food.
We had a great first visit! Our waiter, Turner, was wonderful and very attentive. The food and dessert was great, we will definitely be back!
I made a reservation for 6:30; my wife and I arrived on time and were told that our table wasn't quite ready and that it would take just a couple of minutes until we could be seated. We stood for about 7-8 minutes when another couple entered who had also made a 6:30 reservation and were told the same thing. It was quite busy and there were two hostesses who ended up spending their time on the phone. After about five more minutes, one of the hostesses escorted the other couple to a table in spite of the fact that we tried to tell her that we had arrived first. When she returned, we complained to her and she said she'd been on the phone and that was why she didn't realize the situation. She asked if we wanted to speak with the manager, which we said we did. We saw her go over to a woman who was talking to people at a booth in the corner; the manager acknowledged the hostess and yet continued to speak to them. Finally, as we were being seated, she came over to explain that the people she had been speaking with had not been to the restaurant in a while and she wanted to make sure everything was all right for them. We told her what had happened and she told us that it was very busy, and she had been talking to the other people, but that she would comp us desserts. We felt we had been invisible to the hostesses and were quite upset. In spite of that unpleasant experience, once we were seated, the server was quite attentive to us and the food and wine were excellent.
It's a shame that what could have been a wonderfully memorable night out for my wife and me was marred by the neglect of the hosts and the dismissive attitude of the manager.
Tino’s deserves to be in a higher-end location than the strip mall- but I’m glad they are in my neighborhood! Lovely ambience, delicious food, well-made drinks- thoroughly enjoyed our evening. I highly recommend Tino’s- way better than many Italian places in DC metro.
First time eating here. Food is very good! Service was Okay. Would have given 5 stars, but I received an email from Open Table on the day of my reservation stating that the restaurant had canceled my reservation. Had to call to confirm. Will eat there in the future. Probably will not use Open Table!
Good food, fun Valentines dinner. Service was outstanding, good value with large portions. Will definitely return!
Very glad we went to Tino's. Great food, great wait staff, great atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Wonderful as always. It was Valentine’s Day and our anniversary- we picked the right place to celebrate. Unlike other places, not only was there a special V-day menu, but the regular menu was also available.
The food was delicious, the server pleasant and attentive. Our table was available at our reservation time. The noise level at the booths on the bar side was quite high but bearable. The Bombay sapphire martini tasted as if were watered down, not good
The only item I felt was not up to par was dessert. It was just okay but what I expected.
1st time in a very long time - really happy with the service and food
As always the food and service was excellent! Never a bad meal there...
This was the first time we visited. We will be going back. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was amazing. We each got a different menu item so we could taste test more. Everything was very good! Portions were large, so we all had lunch for the next day!
Always a Great experience at Tino's! Everything on the menu is delicious! Well crafted drinks. Fast and Superb customer service. Fair pricing. I share my experience every chance I get. If you have not been, what are you waiting on? If you have, get back there... Thank You Tino's for such Great quality overall ❤❤
We were delighted to discover it was Restaurant week. The menu included great options in smaller portions but still more than enough.
It started GREAT. The hostess was super friendly. The waitress started well but then seemed to disappear for long periods of time. I had to enlist help from other wait staff. We love Tino's but I felt this time the service was quite as strong as I usually experience. Next time.
Wonderful food. Delightful waiter and nice owner. Salmon was delicious.
Food and service were very good.
The food was good, the wait staff friendly and efficient. We were seated in a booth on the bar side of the restaurant which does not lend itself to a quiet meal and conversation due to the coming and going of bar patrons and the loud conversations at the bar. I was surprised that we were seated there considering we had a reservation and were on time. The hostess initially went to the other side of the house to check on our table (there were several empty ones) prior to seating us by the bar.
Our 2nd visit of many! The bread with oil and spices is the best ever! The tortellini bolognese was delicious! The sauce has outstanding flavor and the best I have ever eaten! The buttery garlic spinach is the best I have ever eaten! My husband had the Chesapeake ravioli. It was marvelous! Fantastic restaurant!
