Ting Ratings and Reviews
Ting was a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding and our waiter Chris was excellent. He was very friendly, recommended various dishes and his service was impeccable. My partner and I were there to celebrate our six month anniversary and we certainly chose the right restaurant in which to celebrate this happy occasion!
My husband and I went to Ting for dinner over the weekend. The food was satisfying, but not particularly interesting, and it had too much salt. Our server was very good and attentive. The best dish that we had was the pork fried rice, although it was unnecessarily salty. I had the chicken with soy ginger sauce and broccoli. It was fine. My husbands dish was supposed to be spicey, but it was quite bland.
Ting does not disappoint! The food is excellent, the service, ambiance -- everything is just the way I like it! I go there all the time. I think it's the best Asian Fusion for miles around. My favorite dish is the tuna pizza - a wonderful concoction - beautiful to look at, wonderful to eat! I like sitting at the sushi bar -- these sushi guys are so talented! It's quite entertaining just watching as they prepare the gorgeous dishes. I have but one complaint about Ting -- even though I am a regular customer, they still, after 3 or 4 years - do not have Bloody Mary cocktail mix, so I "suffer" and have a Margarita instead. On the other hand, Colin, the manager - is the cutest restaurant manager in town!
We started with a 'large' saki, which appeared to be small (we each got 2 saki cups full), so we ordered another during our meal. Our first dish was the avocado salad, which was delicious, and very generous in size! Then we had the tuna dumplings, which were unique, and absolutely yummy! Off to a good start! We were excited for our next dish, which was the fried calamari with a spicy Thai dipping sauce. We were underwhelmed with both the size of the portion, and the actual taste. A let down after the two great dishes we ordered first. Then we got 2 rolls, the Playboy and the Poseidon. They were GREAT! The sushi was fresh, and the Poseidon roll had a generous piece of actual lobster inside. We enjoyed every bite of each roll. We decided to share the mango/ginger creme brule for dessert, and were told it came with a scoop of ice cream. We picked the cappuccino ice cream, and I'm glad we did. It far out shined the creme brule, which was creamy, but we couldn't taste the ginger or the mango at all. I would recommend, as a table of 2, to ask for a table along the perimeter. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, which was loud and the bar noise bounced off the high ceiling and seemed to land right at our table. I would've preferred a table in back part of the room, or along the wall. It was a roller coaster ride of terrific, and mediocre, but we'd come back again, as the good definitely outweighed the meh, and the sushi was fantastic!
While we love the food at Ting, the service the last few visits has been very slow. Too long between courses, have to ask for serving spoons and clean plates for our second course and waitress wasn't around much for us to order a second round of drinks. I do enjoy the food - shrimp pad Thai with jumbo shrimp and chicken lettuce wraps were both delicious. The rock shrimp had just enough kick and the specialty rolls are all yummy. I'll be back but hope service improves.
We have been to Ting several times and the food is always very good - especially the sushi. We came this past weekend for an early dinner at 5 pm - there were not many people there when we first arrived but by the time we left at 6:30 the restaurant was full. It can get noisy but we could still carry on a conversation. Our server was excellent, very friendly and helpful. This is a good place to come with a group.
One of our favorite go to places with our son and daughter-in-law. We all have our favorites there. Especially enjoy their sushi rolls, the Rock shrimp and dumplings. I'm particularly fond of their no rice rolls the Eraser and Naruto. Unfortunately this visit their preparation was not as usual and didn't hold together or look as visually appealing. We think based on the wait staff comment that the sushi bar staff was new. We hope they address this issue before our next visit. Otherwise the other selections were delicious such as the "sandwich" , "Sex on the Beach" and Pad Thai We had a table in the back area which is much quieter than the visually beautiful double height space up front. The cocktail choices are innovative and delicious We will definitely go back
We were a group of 12 women who were out to relax and have a few laughs. I have eaten here many times and wanted to share the experience with my friends. We went during Restaurant week and all ordered off the pre-fixe menu. There was a nice variety and good size portions. The restaurant is very pretty and very comfortable. They were very accommodating considering the size of our group. We had wonderful service and a great time was had by all. We will be back!
