Ting Ratings and Reviews
Hard to understand how a restaurant cannot allow BYOW when after ordering a wine on their list you're told they don't have it and are phasing out their white wines. Who drinks red wine with Asian cuisine? Guess they want to push fancy cocktails. And that's after we sat for 20 minutes before we asked a manager if someone would take our order. Food was okay, but the "modern take" on Asian food is not necessarily what you would expect to receive in a true ethnic Asian restaurant.
Late reservation due to opentable not giving me earlier than 9pm, got there, ting was virtually empty, we ordered, food was great , we were rushed by the staff as they want ed to close early, loud and disrespectful staff clearing and setting tables. Very disappointed. Not attempt to fix, waiter was sub par, made 2 mistakes and didn't fix. Have been 6 times before, never had an issue
Ruined my wedding anniversary.
One more chance to go there again, if it's less than great, never again and will be happy to give them a seriously negative review
Our waitress was arrogant, unprofessional and inexperienced. The manager had very little customer skills in dealing with our complaint and shrugged it off by lowering our bill, which he felt should cover the poor dinner experience we endured.
I hope the upper mgmt. of this restaurant gets to read this review and checks the actions and procedures of their staff.
The four of us in our dinner party will never visit this restaurant again.
Three of us had food from the Japanese side of the menu, sushi and sashimi; and it was very good with a lovely presentation. The fourth had a Chinese dish and it was not wonderful. We had been there before and the people who had Chinese selections were very happy with their choices at that time, so perhaps this was an aberration. However, I would not hesitate to return and will.
When travels bring us to the Huntington area we usually consider dinner here. Even when travels don't bring us nearby we make the trip when we feel like having some of their specialty rolls such as the riceless "Eraser and Naruto" or "Sex on the Beach" or the assortment of appetizers especially the Rock Shrimp. We also enjoy the Pad Thai and Peking Duck. Service is attentive and food is served in a timely manner without feeling rushed out when you dine early.
This definitely remains one of our go to choices - the food preparation is consistent and doesn't disappoint.
we went for mother's day...ting is a great place to eat ...we spend many holidays there (including birthdays and anniversaries) because they do not have select dining times and pre made menus, they also do not rush you. they have a select dinner menu, but at the same time their regular menu, which my husband and i love is available at all times. we were 2 with the possibility of another joining us . the restaurant always seems to give us the great 2 person table by the fish tank...love those fishes. my friend was a little late but the hostess had no problem moving us to another table so we could be comfortable...they are great there
Place was very nice. Food was very good but not perfect. Chicken was a touch over cooked. Sushi and soup fantastic. Manager very attentive. Waiter was nice but a little eccentric. Made some odd comments to us that we almost mentioned to Manager but decided that would get him in trouble and we did not want to do that. He was also playing with a spinner toy while working. Forgot our order and had to come back and ask us again. Said he is usually the bartender so maybe just filling in as wAiter.
Ting was a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding and our waiter Chris was excellent. He was very friendly, recommended various dishes and his service was impeccable. My partner and I were there to celebrate our six month anniversary and we certainly chose the right restaurant in which to celebrate this happy occasion!
My husband and I went to Ting for dinner over the weekend. The food was satisfying, but not particularly interesting, and it had too much salt. Our server was very good and attentive. The best dish that we had was the pork fried rice, although it was unnecessarily salty. I had the chicken with soy ginger sauce and broccoli. It was fine. My husbands dish was supposed to be spicey, but it was quite bland.
Ting does not disappoint! The food is excellent, the service, ambiance -- everything is just the way I like it! I go there all the time. I think it's the best Asian Fusion for miles around. My favorite dish is the tuna pizza - a wonderful concoction - beautiful to look at, wonderful to eat! I like sitting at the sushi bar -- these sushi guys are so talented! It's quite entertaining just watching as they prepare the gorgeous dishes. I have but one complaint about Ting -- even though I am a regular customer, they still, after 3 or 4 years - do not have Bloody Mary cocktail mix, so I "suffer" and have a Margarita instead. On the other hand, Colin, the manager - is the cutest restaurant manager in town!
We started with a 'large' saki, which appeared to be small (we each got 2 saki cups full), so we ordered another during our meal. Our first dish was the avocado salad, which was delicious, and very generous in size! Then we had the tuna dumplings, which were unique, and absolutely yummy! Off to a good start! We were excited for our next dish, which was the fried calamari with a spicy Thai dipping sauce. We were underwhelmed with both the size of the portion, and the actual taste. A let down after the two great dishes we ordered first. Then we got 2 rolls, the Playboy and the Poseidon. They were GREAT! The sushi was fresh, and the Poseidon roll had a generous piece of actual lobster inside. We enjoyed every bite of each roll. We decided to share the mango/ginger creme brule for dessert, and were told it came with a scoop of ice cream. We picked the cappuccino ice cream, and I'm glad we did. It far out shined the creme brule, which was creamy, but we couldn't taste the ginger or the mango at all. I would recommend, as a table of 2, to ask for a table along the perimeter. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, which was loud and the bar noise bounced off the high ceiling and seemed to land right at our table. I would've preferred a table in back part of the room, or along the wall. It was a roller coaster ride of terrific, and mediocre, but we'd come back again, as the good definitely outweighed the meh, and the sushi was fantastic!
While we love the food at Ting, the service the last few visits has been very slow. Too long between courses, have to ask for serving spoons and clean plates for our second course and waitress wasn't around much for us to order a second round of drinks. I do enjoy the food - shrimp pad Thai with jumbo shrimp and chicken lettuce wraps were both delicious. The rock shrimp had just enough kick and the specialty rolls are all yummy. I'll be back but hope service improves.
