Tin Fish Ratings and Reviews
Great food! Halibut was outstanding. The whipped potatoes were smooth and great tasting. The Lobster and scallops pasta was so Delious the sauce was very good and the perfect amount of lobster and scallops. Specials were very good. Calamari was so good to start the dinner off with. Nice desserts. All around was great! Would go again and recommend to friends and family.
Tin Fish has been consistently good for a long time. This visit was no different. The sea bass was exceptionally good and the good old fried perch was awesome. Very friendly, fast and informative wait staff. And the crem brûlée was worth the cheat on the diet.
We hadn't been to Tin Fish for a number of years and, on a whim, decided to stop on our way home from Indiana via I-80. So glad that we did! The food was very good and fresh. Hubby enjoyed his chowder and fried shrimp (which were huge). I had 2 specials - bay scallops as a starter and the halibut for main - both very delicious. We will be back soon.
We went to Tin Fish for the first time with family. Started with calamari which was very good and a bottle of Cabernet. Dinners ranged from lobster with pasta, fried shrimp, steak to sea bass. All the dishes were very good and my husband raves about the lobster. Only cons were the loud ambience. The noise level just due to people talking was very loud. Sometimes hard to hear those across the table. Must be the big open room and high ceilings?
I’ve been dining here for the past 12 years and have found it to be one of the best seafood restaurants in the area. The service is always exceptional and accommodating.
The buffalo shrimp are my favorite and a must when dining with friends. The everyday dinner menu has some great dishes on there and the crispy smashed potatoes side is the best side by far. Pay attention to the specials menu because you will also find some great dishes there such as the miso crusted Chilean sea bass.
A friend of mine recommended this place for dinner. We were coming from Rockford to see a concert at Hollywood Casino . The waiter we had was very knowledgeable and suggested some things we never would have possibly tried. We were very pleased and we look forward to going back soon.
We were here celebrating my husband and son's birthdays. While the food was good, my husband had the filet mignon, it had no seasoning, no salad offered with your entrée, the mashed potatoes were delicious, small drinks very pricy, portions were very small for the price. My cousin had the Mississippi Catfish, very well presented, again, no seasoning. The staff is awesome, very attentive and courteous. We may go back! lower those prices and increase your portions!
The seafood was outstanding as was our server. We got there early in time for lunch. Our server explained where the seafood originated from and explained the preparation. This was our first time as we were attending a concert at the amphitheater. Would highly recommend.
