Tin Fish Ratings and Reviews
The food was average, less than I was hoping for. My wife had scallops that were cool to the touch when served. The waiter took them back and heated them up. Not the best thing to do to a scallop. It ruined them at that point. Never offered to remake them as they should have. On a positive note, the clam chowder was yummy but that’s about it! Rather disappointed and out $100!
Beginning to end. I have been here several times previously and this time was very similar to prior experiences. Parking is too limited but valet parking is available. I walk and I don’t mind it. Very good variety of seafood and everything I have ever had there is 3.5-5 stars. Presentation is always considered and it is more towards elaborate than basic. Beer selection is good as is the wine selection. The salads are fresh, creative and well-presented. The swordfish, salmon and white fish were excellent. I like the blackened swordfish but the corn meal is also a great preparation option. Didn’t stay for desert. Open Table is missing the price range a bit as it has risen. It says $30 and under but if you look at seafood entrees only for the most part you are looking at$29 up to mid or upper $50. You do get what you pay for here so it is worth it, but if you go in thinking it will run about $50/person with a soup or salad and a glass of wine, depending upon your choices that could get to nearer $75/person. I will return.
First we were seated in the corner even though we had reservations and plenty of empty better seating all around. Stayed empty the entire time we where there. The food flavours are a bit strange and the prices are way over the top for the value. The service was great we felt bad we did like it more for her sake.
Great food! Halibut was outstanding. The whipped potatoes were smooth and great tasting. The Lobster and scallops pasta was so Delious the sauce was very good and the perfect amount of lobster and scallops. Specials were very good. Calamari was so good to start the dinner off with. Nice desserts. All around was great! Would go again and recommend to friends and family.
My wife and I were celebrating our 33rd Anniversary. We were here last year, and since we had a great experience we decided to come again. Unfortunately, the steaks we ordered were terrible. They Were grisly and fatty , but not in a good way.
I believe the next time we come we will try the seafood selection. Other than that, it was a decent dining experience!
Tin Fish has been consistently good for a long time. This visit was no different. The sea bass was exceptionally good and the good old fried perch was awesome. Very friendly, fast and informative wait staff. And the crem brûlée was worth the cheat on the diet.
We hadn't been to Tin Fish for a number of years and, on a whim, decided to stop on our way home from Indiana via I-80. So glad that we did! The food was very good and fresh. Hubby enjoyed his chowder and fried shrimp (which were huge). I had 2 specials - bay scallops as a starter and the halibut for main - both very delicious. We will be back soon.
We went to Tin Fish for the first time with family. Started with calamari which was very good and a bottle of Cabernet. Dinners ranged from lobster with pasta, fried shrimp, steak to sea bass. All the dishes were very good and my husband raves about the lobster. Only cons were the loud ambience. The noise level just due to people talking was very loud. Sometimes hard to hear those across the table. Must be the big open room and high ceilings?
I’ve been dining here for the past 12 years and have found it to be one of the best seafood restaurants in the area. The service is always exceptional and accommodating.
The buffalo shrimp are my favorite and a must when dining with friends. The everyday dinner menu has some great dishes on there and the crispy smashed potatoes side is the best side by far. Pay attention to the specials menu because you will also find some great dishes there such as the miso crusted Chilean sea bass.
