Haven't been to Tin Fish in a while and took my wife This past weekend for her birthday. Their "go to" Buffalo shrimp appetizer was delicious. My cup of Gumbo was wonderful. Wife's fish dinner was very good, my steak had very little seasoning and was frankly rather bland. Potatoes and green beans were very good.
The service was outstanding and the restaurant overall very nice. Bottom line: Stick with the fish.
Food was delicious. However, my husband and brother ate raw oysters and were sick all night. Wine list not too impressive and too expensive for the brands they offered. Ambiance was not the greatest either. Too warm, loud and overwhelmed with how tight the seating was. Will not be back for a while.
All excellent! Terrific crab/ avacado appetizer. Appreciate ability to substitute the entree preps
Tin Fish has been a family favorite since they opened in the late ‘90s. The specials are always terrific. We had the Nantucket Scallops late night and they were fantastic. They have a great Caesar salad and I love their Buffalo Shrimp. You can skip the seafood chain restaurants , this place is worth the drive to Tinley Park.
I ordered the white fish and it was good with good presentation. I thought is was a little expensive and that soup or salad should be included in the meal. Our table was too close to other tables and you can overhear other peoples conversations which was distracting.
Thirty minute wait for seven pm reservations. We were sat at 7:30
Had not been there in a long time
Redesign is nice.
Not enough parking
Wonderful, as always.
Tin Fish really surprised us. We have never heard of it before doing a google search for “crab legs” and saw they had 1000+ reviews. We decided to give it a try and we will definitely be back. Everything was excellent and very well priced.
Love the servers in the bar area. Always take great care of us!
The service rendered by our waitress was less than desirable. The evening took a wrong turn after I asked to change an appetizer. It had been less than 3 minutes from the time she had walked away and upon notification she went to "check" to see if the order could be changed. She swiftly returned to inform me that the meal had already been prepared. I was clear about not wanting the meal and she proceeded to instruct staff to bring the dish to our table. The ambiance was fair but it was rather cold. Our main course dishes were fair...we both ordered the Mississippi Catfish. The cornmeal crusted fish wasn't well seasoned however we both enjoyed the mashed potatoes and spinach.
I'm willing to give the restaurant another chance but I do hope that the service is better.
Are waiter, Ryan, was outstanding as usual . His knowledge of the menu and his over all professionalism made our evening totally enjoyable. Oh and the food was marvelous.
Tin Fish just never disappoints. It’s great every time we go.
The food is good, but not good enough for what they're charging for it. The tables are very close together and it can be very loud. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough for us to ever go back either.
Tin Fish is a favorite of ours, they never disappoint! Very consistent in all aspects. We had our 25th anniversary here. 5 stars across the board!!
Went here for Valentine's Day a yearly tradition. We had wonderful oysters on the half-shell, avocado salad and wonderful fish entrees. The only drawback was that although they are an an Open Table restaurant they would not accept my Open Table reward. Tacky.
Went there for Valentine’s Day. I go there about 6 times a year. I love the Chilean Sea Bass. I have had it in some of the best restaurants and the Tin Fish is my favorite
10 fish was amazing I would recommend it to anyone great service great food great place to eat.
Our server was outstanding. They have great fish and the crab cakes were the best we ever had.
Food was good, waiter was slow but rest of staff attentive. The hostess seemed mad at the world! Other than that all good.
I've always loved it. My husband does too now. Awesome!
In the dining room, the music could have been a little quiet. But that's about it.
Even we arrived early we were seated because or table was open... parson the pun. Meal was fabulous and service was top shelf. Can’t wait to go back
Love this restaurant. It's our go to for a guaranteed wonderful evening out as a couple or with friends. Tin Fish never disappoints. The French Martinis are terrific and the Buffalo Shrimp can't be beat. The desserts change often and are uncommon and delicious. Our server, Ryan, is the best we have ever had anywhere. Some items are a little higher priced, but so worth it.
Food was mediocre at best and expensive; minimal accommodations in food selection (change in side dish) were not able to be accommodated by server.
If you are looking for the freshest seafood, then Tin Fish is absolutely the only name that should come to mind. Fantastic wine list, incredible food and excellent professional high end service. We no longer cheat ourselves on a night out and have Tin Fish a must on our list.
The food was delicious and the service was perfection. We really enjoyed our experience!
Place was dark, was seated by the wall, where the wait staff was coming and going. Place needs to revamp , found it to be old and outdated. Found that the waiter wanted to push the daily specials that were not really that good. The oysters were good, but the chilian sea bass topping was too sweet and underneath was just a jumble of veggies. I noticed that the waiter was asking everyone how their meal was but never asked me. It was a nice treat for my b-day but I would not make it a repeat.
I really enjoyed myself and dinner was good.
Consistently excellent appetizers and entrees. Fish is fresh and well-prepared, and chef uses creative touches for good presentations and tasty meals. Service is top-notch, and servers are well-informed about menu items, sourcing of fish and values of wines.
Waitress started out slow but ended up being one of the best we’ve had there! Food was good too!
