Tin Angel Ratings and Reviews
Hadn’t been to Tin Angel for awhile, but have always liked it. Did not disappoint! My husband said that it was some of the best food he’d had in a long time. Sunday evening was refreshingly quiet and cozy. Bacon wrapped figs, polenta crusted red snapper, and salmon were great! Happy Hour cocktails were a nice treat too. Won’t wait so long to return.
Tin Angel is one of my absolute favorite restaurants on the planet. I have been dining here for close to 20 years. The food is always wonderful, the service is friendly and professional and the atmosphere is unbeatable. It is charming and intimate with a cozy fire going in the winter. It is as appropriate for a casual weeknight bite to eat as it is for New Year's Eve. My favorite tables are in the window, which are always accented by white lights. The place is magical really - decorated with local art with an abundance of candles contributing to the ambience. The bacon-wrapped figs and the vegetarian meatballs are amazing, as is the homemade sorbet. I always find myself saying, at some point during dinner, "I just love this place!"
Loved our meal at this fun, local restaurant.
The valet parking was greatly appreciated.
The meal was excellent, great wine recommendations. The bacon wrapped figs were yummy, the lamb sliders was such a large portion, enjoyed them for a lunch the next day.
Always have a great dining experience here.
One guest has lots of allergies and the chef and waitress got everything perfect!
Rick and Vickie Bolsom have had a significant, positive influence on Nashville dining for decades - from the memorable Cakewalk era to the long-running Tin Angel years. They have also contributed collaboratively to the sustained growth of independently owned restaurants in our community.
Because they provide quality food and service in comfortable, attractive settings.
My family has had Christmas eve dinner at Tin Angel for years and have always enjoyed it. I made our reservation about a month in advance and specified that I needed a high chair. We walked in at 5:05 Pm for or 5 PM reservation and there was no high chair – apparently a party arrived at 4:30 and used all of the high chairs in the restaurant. I was very disappointed and although the restaurant had a booster seat I don’t understand why if we had a reservation for high chair why they wouldn’t hold one back for us. It probably doesn’t seem like a big deal to anyone at the restaurant but to a family with a toddler having a high chair at Christmas Eve dinner it’s really important. All in all it just wasn’t a great dinner either and we probably won’t be back anytime soon.
I've always been a fan, but the food was disappointing this time. I ordered the roasted vegetables over spaghetti squash in an effort to get away from the high-calorie rich foods of the holiday season, but it arrived smothered in a horrible creamy cheese sauce like a bad canned Alfredo sauce -- not edible. My daughter's steak was overcooked and my son's chicken was dry and not very flavorful. We've eaten here for years, but it seems like a change has happened in the kitchen. I will not return.
Came here before a concert and it had been a decade since last time I had lunch there. The menu was obviously new and had plenty of delicious-looking items on it. My sister and I both wanted the same 2 items, so we ordered them and said we'd split them, that we couldn't decide. When the waitress brought us our food, she brought us each two plates, that were beautiful. At first I thought she misunderstood and brought us each both items, but they had split the plates in the kitchen and still made it look wonderful. It was much easier than cutting up chicken, and scooping stuff off of one plate onto another. And like I said - it was plenty of food and looked great! I even got a doggy bag. We reserved seating on Open Table, but there wasn't a wait so we were seated right away. This isn't a new hip restaurant, but was really good and is probably overlooked. But it's lasted this long, and will probably outlast some of the trendier places.
This was my second visit to this charming and upscale bar/restaurant. The eggplant/mushroom meatball dish is unbelievable. I brought five of my colleagues here (we were in Nashville for a conference downtown) and they were blown away. Everything was delicious, from the acorn squash entree to the steak filet. Really nice vegetarian options here!
Our waiter was attentive, informative about the menu, made great recommendations and his timing to assist us was perfect. I had the Chicken DaVinci and the flavors were wonderful. My friend had a potato soup special and the butternut squash entrée special and she said they were both great. Always a delightful experience at Tin Angel!!
Donald Main is the head chef. He is innovative in the kitchen and personable out on the floor.
This past visit, I had the snapper, my daughter had the salmon, our friend (a picky eater), had the lasagna. All were delicious. Keith and Daniel know their way around a bar and can serve anything as simple as a glass of wine or one of Keith's specialty champagne cocktails, (he makes his own bitters). We love sitting at the bar if it's just two of us but a table anywhere in the house is equally memorable.
If you have never visited before, go to the bar, ask Keith for a cocktail or wine recommendation, order the fried green tomatoes and crab cakes. You will be hooked forever!
If I were to change anything at all, I would ask for a bit more varied wine list and perhaps add a tap for local brews.
