Timpano Italian Chophouse - Tampa Ratings and Reviews
Loved celebrating my B-Day at Timpano's...food was excellent. Originally reserved for 8:30 and called to change my time and was assured 7:30 was fine only to get a call two days before the event to be told that only managers approve time changes and the only time they had to accommodate my party of 20 was 8:30pm. I was ultimately OK with this and I'm glad I waited. When we arrived, the table was nicely prepared and it was an amazing experience afterwards. Bar was a little loud so music was additionally loud as well to play over the crowd but not to loud that I wasn't able to engage with my guests. My waiter - Charles was amazing and very attentive. Would definitely return and recommend.
The food and service was excellent! We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We started with the mussels which were good but not as “well done” as usual. I am gluten free and had their Bolognese over rice pasta. This is the first restaurant to serve good tasting gluten free pasta. There were no special orders they couldn’t accommodate! The service was also exemplary!
Had heard about Timpano for a while, and repeatedly made plans to take my wife there due to the chatter about ‘this great place downtown’. Service was fine, ambiance was ok, and the food very disappointing for the cost. I’m more than happy to pay for quality, but this wasn’t it. The meals were vague, tasteless, and forgettable. We won’t be back, and wouldn’t recommend anyone else going there either.
Our first time here & we were told they were out of: clams, oysters, ribeye, veal, osso bucco, salmon & tiramisu - not s good first impression! Our server was very slow in getting our drinks out to us, and, when he did, he put them down & walked away without saying a word even though we had been ready to order for awhile. Their wine was also priced much higher than other area restaurants for exactly the same. It was not a good start to our evening but it did improve. The food we did order, the beef carpaccio was delicious, as was the bread & tomato pesto was delicious although he totally forgot that we had ordered the deconstructed bruschetta. The main dishes, (2) Baked stuffed Brazino (a special) , crispy chicken & sea scallops were all delicious. Coffee & dessert was also very good. We all agreed the meal was very good but we would not be in a hurry to rush back.
Too loud for table conversation. They “ ran out of veal” Which they didn’t advise of until 5 out of our 8 ppl ordered it. Then when we reordered they were also out of Osso Bucco! So one friend had to get their third choice. Waiter had attitude and no apology for inconvenience . We were told the chef was “ surprised “ so many people wanted veal that night . Really? At an Italian restaurant? Huge disappointment
Valeriia provided excellent service. She is very friendly and professional. Angie ensured we had the best experience possible. I was very happy to find the table we normally sit at, had been reserved for us; without making the request. Thank you Valeriia and Angie for a great time and a delicious brunch.
Our Anniversary dinner was terrific and our server Kellie made our special night even more enjoyable. The skillet clams and calamari with hot peppers were outstanding and our entrees were great too. My wife had the sliced tuna and I had the shrimp fra diavlo. The skillet cookie for desert was killer. Can't wait to go back the next time we're in Tampa.
