Timpano Italian Chophouse - Ft. Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
What a wonderful, energetic, fun restaurant with great food. It's sophisticated, but somewhat casual. Music is Sinatra style when there is no band. The band was great and added to the sophisticated energy. The mussels are a signature dish and could be shared. It's an Italian steakhouse but their steaks are better than I've had anywhere. Enjoy a perfectly made martini with blue cheese olives at the bar before being seated at your table.
Interesting combination of a top Italian restaurant combined with a steak house. Our table opted for the Italian food. Before our food came, we were envious of the tables nearby that were served large sizzling steaks but our veal, chicken and pastas were all excellent.
I normally don't write reviews however this place is special, it's a little more expensive (for some) than the average. Our's was sixty dollars p/p. It was worth every penny. Great filet, great pork chop & by far the best marsalla we've ever had. Service was great. As good or better than the upscale chains. Dennis Fort Myers, Fla
Our food was delicious. One main course, a meatball dish, arrived cold and had to be heated. 4 cheese flatbread was nice and thin, crisp and delicious. Ceasar salad perfect.
Everyone loved their wine - purchased by the glass as all had different preferences and we were only a group of four, dining before a show at the Broward Center.
They may want to offer open booths; we asked for a quiet table and they tried to seat us in the center of the restaurant - we asked to move to one of 5 open booths along the wall, which tend to be quieter. I would prefer to not have to ask for a quiet booth, but have to do so so both men in our group with hearing deficiencies can also enjoy the conversation/dining experience. Our waiter was very nice!
Food was amazing, great job. Service was awful. Very unprofessional and no personality Didn't know servers name until the check came. Service can make or break your dining experience... It definitely broke ours. When you spend that much money, everything should be top notch.
Chop was great. soup meatballs were overcooked, overpowering garlic broccolini was undercooked, potatoes mealy also could be improper cooking or poor quality. No sevice follow through-left stranded with bot courses so we couldn't relate the problems. Even the peppermill was never offered & was empty.
Mid week dinner with friends who had never dined here was a treat. The sizzling mussels were a hit with them.We had filets, rib steak and
Chilean sea bass all very good.Shared a warm apple tart for dessert with lattes, tea and coffee....service was a bit off...maybe short staffed
as this is not usually the case at Timpano...we'll be back next season....
I have always enjoyed eating at this establishment. I sizzeling mussels, the short ribs with risotto, the flatbreads, the salmon really everything on the menu is delicious. The staff is outstanding. There is music in the evenings and the atmosphere is beautiful and lively. One of our favorite restaurants
WE LIVE IN NAPLES AND EVERY CHANCE WE HAVE TO GET TO THE EAST COAST, WE TRY TO DINE AT TIMPANOS, WE HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. THE ROASTED MUSSELS ARE BEYOND OUTSTANDING AS IS THE LEMON CREME BRULEE. WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY WHEN WE LEAVE, IT IS A FAVORITE OF OURS!
My wife and I both ordered the Filet. I found it to be very delicious. The sides were button mushrooms and mac 'n cheese w/truffles. I would pass on the truffles next time. We shared a calamari appetizer prior to the main course. Nicely done and the pomodoro sauce was excellent. The only drawback was parking $8/hr. Valet was $7. Would go there again.
The restaurant was nice, I liked the service, we had a reservation and they took us in as soon as we got to the restaurant, the food was Ok, for my taste the pasta was a little too hard, but had a good taste. The tables were too closed to each other! not too romantic for a Valentine's day.
Valentines Day Gem! I took my girlfriend here after failing on a good restaurant for our anniversary. Needless to say there was a lot riding on this restaurant. It more than surpassed my expectations. Valet was only $7, food was excellent, service was beyond great (ask for Michael as your waiter). The restaurant had a special v-day menu but we went with the salmon and NY Strip (perfect medium-rare). The wine was great and I cannot stop raving about the truffle mac & cheese! The chocolate cake was huge to say the least. Be sure to ask for a booth as the tables seem a little small. As with most steakhouses, the main course and sides are separate. We had the B.R.Cohn Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon (tasted smooth and great).
I have been going to Timpanos since they first opened. Whether it be a special occasion where I have had up to 25 people, a client dinner, or an intimate dinner with friends, the service food an ambience where always good. Some times better than others.
My last visit with them has given me pause and has made me re-evaluate whether I will be back any time soon.
1-After making my reservation, I needed to add one more to my part and I received attitude from the person taking the reservation.
2-Spoke with the Manager who graciously accommodated which was appreciated.
3-Place was loud; over crowded and there was a sense of semi-controlled chaos.
4-Food and service were below average and we felt as though we were being rushed.
