Timpano Italian Chophouse - Ft. Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I come about six times a year to Timpano. Most of the time with friends. We enjoy it very much. This time we came alone to celebrate our 44th Aniverary, on a Wednesday night. The food was great as always, the music was at is best, Service as good as always.
in short words, we had a great time and will be back with friends or on our own soon.
We ate inside. Excellent food. I had the halibut special, on saffron cous cous. It was outstanding. Perfectly prepared. Main dining room was uncomfortably cool. Band was a bit too loud for guests in the main dining room. Tap water had a bit of a chlorine / flouride taste to it. Surprised that you don't validate / subsidize valet parking.
The service was excelllent. The service was outstanding . The waiters paid attention to each detail. The food was very good. If you did not liked the way was prepared the waiter took it back to the kitchen and they made the changes to please you taste. We have been going there every time we are in Ft. Lauderdale and will continue to do so.
Excellent service provided by Arturo. We had a comfortable booth. Restaurant was little loud for quiet conversation. We're locals so we appreciated the casual dress code. The food is always consistent fine dining. It gets very pricey if you order appetizers, salads, side dishes, desserts and drinks. Our meal came out to $80/person (2 appetizers, 2 salads, 3 entrees, 3 drinks). This will be a special occasion place for us as opposed to routine dining.
The mussels are the best I have ever had anywhere in the world! The portions are very, very generous. Jarod, our waiter pays attention to every detail and never forgets a face. Did I mention that the food is superb too! This place is a winner every single time.
Timpano has been one of most reliable go-to restaurants over the years, very old-school atmosphere; table cloths, professional servers and bartenders, warmly lighted, patrons somewhat dressed for the occasion and excellent Italian food. Highly recommend whatever is on the special menu for the night, you will not be disappointed. Extremely helpful and friendly bar staff and excellent service from the hostesses to the servers.
Haven't been to Timpano for a few years. The tables in the main dining room are a little on the small side for 4 men ,get a booth.
The veal dishes were very good , but presentation lacking. I had the sea scallops on polenta the three scallops were kinda of lost on the plate. I asked our waiter if one fell off the plate from the kitchen.
All & all meal was fine.
I was looking forward to eating here, and chose it for a business meal. This was my first time at Timpanos. The atmosphere is lovely but we couldn't have a conversation in the bar area because it was quite loud. We had a long business meal and selected wine, appetizers & entree. I was disappointed at the limited menu selection and no specials were offered. My veal piccata was a large portion - a little large for my appetite - and unfortunately it was drowned in sauce. Perhaps my expectation & food description did not align. There were also few vegetable sides to choose from. Wine was excellent and service was as well.
Steak was excellent, service very good and attentive, a very good special offer for first time visitors. Soup was creative and tasty. Pricing for sides was a little expensive, as was the wine. Better options in the city for variety and value, but if its steak you crave, that is quite good here.
We went to an early dinner this past Saturday after a show. I had a 6pm reservation and arrived 45 minutes early. Got seated with no issues. The service and food were amazing! The prices were fair given the quantity and the quality of the food. Our waiters and staff were fantastic and addressed all of our questions and needs promptly. Very friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back!
