We were hoping to eat outside but there was a wedding and all of the outdoor tables were reserved for the wedding. They put us in a room with only a few others, so it wasnt too bad. We had a little amount of time because we were on our way to a hockey game. Our server was very accommodating. The food was good but a few items we were hoping for weren’t on the menu. The menu is pretty limited.
A reasonably priced fine dining experience in a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service. We celebrated my husband’s birthday and our server made it special with confetti on the table and a complimentary strawberry schaum torte for hubby. We enjoyed our calamari steak and prime rib dinner, and had enough take out containers to enjoy the next day. We are in our 60’s so we dined at 5 PM. Our server was masked as were we as often as possible. Our tables were distanced and we felt safe @ Timmers. Can’t wait to dine there again!
Very pleasant experience and great food and service
We had a reservation and were sat about on time. However, we were never served. The waitress never stopped by to take even a drink order from us and after waiting 20 mi uses we just left.
The food was great as usual. Glad that they had the parmesan crusted grouper back on the specials menu!
The Walleye is the best I've had.
Perfect place to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary! Service was great, food was delicious, and we even got a surprise dessert. A little on the pricey side for us, but we were splurging for our anniversary.
Food and service were outstanding, as usual. We dined on the outdoor patio. Even with the patio area basically full, it was quiet and the weather was perfect.
Great place. Beautiful setting. Spin dip a little too spicy but everything else was perfect for an “end of Summer “ outdoor pleasant experience
Celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary!!!
Decaf coffee after dinner didn't taste fresh, and wasn't hot
Great food and service. Next time we’ll try the outdoor patio. We will definitely be back!
We enjoyed our meal very much. The only problem we had was that we were on the patio (our choice), and there was a fairly cool breeze coming off the lake. However, our server lit the outdoor heater that was near us and that helped a lot. Our meals and drinks were delicious and we were very pleased.
On the spur of the moment, my husband and I decided to go out for dinner. I’ve never made reservations using an app before and it was so easy.
The evening was beautiful and we had a lovely table outside. The setting was peaceful and they did a very nice job spacing tables to insure an intimate atmosphere, while respecting the need for social distancing. The service was excellent, attentive, but not intrusive. My husband had a pork chop that he thoroughly enjoyed and my salmon was perfectly prepared and delicious. I would recommend Timmer’s Resort to anyone—a lovely meal in a lovely setting.
Great food and atmosphere but sitting in the dining room is not my first choice. Also, service was slow but that is because the kitchen was backed up. They can use more servers
Reservations for 6:30. Got seated around 7:20. I ordered a dry aged bone in ribe eye med rare . Appetizers came fairly quickly followed by soup/salad.
And then we waited... and waited. Waiter eventually came out and said they were re-doing the steak because they overcooked it. I thought, fine, it's an expensive steak please don't mess it up. Sometime after dark the entree arrived. I cut a piece of steak looking forward to that juicy, fatty ribeye only to have to drink several gulps of water to choke down the meat that was turning to sawdust in my mouth.
Using my phone as a flashlight I discovered a steak devoid of any pink.. I wonder what the overcooked one looked like.
At this point I was done, couldn't spare another 30-45 minutes on the hope it would be right.
For the prices they charge I expect a couple things:
1) smooth service with good timing between courses
2) properly cooked food. steaks aren't rocket science, pay attention to what you're doing
Went home and pulled some leftovers out of the freezer...bummer
Maybe we'll try this place again in a couple years
Cocktails were ok, nothing special. Bruschetta was ok, bread was not crunchy, calamari not as expected but decent. Ordered medium rare filet, came out well, sent back, reorder came back rare. Don’t think I would suggest to anyone and won’t be back sadly. Beautiful grounds but could take a few trees down so you could see the lake from the patio? Also, possibly tiki torches to keep mosquitos away?!
We were there 3 times in the last two weeks and it was great
Timmer's food and atmosphere is one of our favorites.
The restaurant is nice, and the atmosphere is good. Service was REALLY slow, as we were seated at 7:35 and we’re leaving at 9:45...It was 45 minutes between appetizers and soups & salads, then entrees were 20 minutes after soups& salads... The food was good, not great, so for a more-expensive restaurant like this, I’m not sure we would go back. To me, the difference between a chain restaurant and and a place like this, should be outstanding service and excellent food. This restaurant fell really short on the first area, and the food was just good.
I took my 80 yr old parents for their 60th wedding anniversary. I had requested outdoor dining due to the pandemic, and I was very pleased that the staff actual read my notes in the online reservation. We had a lovely table in the shade. The food is excellent---three of us had the scallops and one person had the prime rib sandwich. Dessert was also very good. I felt the berry schaum torte was the bet I've ever had! Definitely leave room for it and it's big enough to share. I felt our server could have been a little more attentive with refill of drinks and clearing the table, but it was very busy and he did well in spite of that.
Timmer's never disappoints us. The setting is wonderful anytime, but especially nice in the summer while sitting outside.
We had been there last week and decided we would like to spend my husband’s and a dear friend of our birthday. The walleye and scallops were wonderful.
Beautiful patio dining. Patio seating is not guaranteed with a reservation so we did wait about 25 minutes beyond our reservation time. They provide outside seating where you can wait with your drink from the bar(inside on a Wednesday). We had the calamari appetizer which was excellent, as were the homemade rolls. The scallops in lemon sauce with risotto were delicious and we enjoyed the shrimp capreese special with risotto as well. The only minor fault in the evening was the timing between salads and dinner which was a bit long. The waitress explained the kitchen was very busy and got a bit behind. We did not mind the wait in the beautiful setting.
Very special place to celebrate our anniversary in these difficult times.
It was a beautiful night to sit outside on the porch.
Celebrating a birthday. We had Covid-appropriately spaced table outside on a Wednesday evening. Service was great, health precautions were apparent and it was a great experience overall.
Fantastic food as always. Prices seem a little high to me.
We enjoyed our visit to Timmers Resort. Their food is always good. COVID protocols were well observed.
We sat out one the patio,,,, mosquitos started getting ugly, but it was so beautiful out here overall!! Pecan crusted Walleye was phenomenal also!!! Thank you!!
Very fresh ingredients. Never disappointed. Always great food and drinks.
Always love the food, ambiance and lake view. We have celebrated our 18, 20 & 22 wedding anniversaries there, and it never disappoints us. Our server this past visit was exceptional. She made a special occasion even more memorable. We will be back!
We ate on their patio and social distancing was no problem. Wait staff was friendly and wore masks. The food was excellent, and they bought us desert since we were celebrating our anniversary.
Everything was perfect. Our server was excellent. The food was fabulous. We ate outside and there was a delightful breeze all evening. It was awesome.
Always enjoyable at Timmer’s. Spencer was great! And Jeff is the quintessential bartender and really nice guy! Never skip the calamari!
The entrees were great but the accompanying salads, which included one of their daily specials were spectacular.
Service was very slow this night. Food was good but not as good as past experiences.
We always loving coming to Timmer's but we're very unimpressed with the bartender this time. She was not the friendliest and when mixing drinks did not fill the glass up, even with ice it was not full. Not sure if she is young and inexperienced but we did not feel that is acceptable for a place like Timmer's. The food was great and our waitress was nice though!
Awesome place, awesome food.
Wonderful as usual. Love Timmer’s!!
