The restaurant, which features cuisine from Chef Audra Grueneberg, was named among the Top 100 Brunch spots by Forbes in 2017 and offers a menu of casual cuisine and nightly specials including BBQ ribs, lobster tails, and slow-roasted prime rib.
All four of us had delicious meals and the service was excellent. This place has been around for al long time and it is well kept.
Always have a WONDERFUL time at Timmers!! They were very busy on a Saturday night, including a wedding party going on in their back room......yet when we arrived about 40 minutes early, I told the friendly hostess that we'd like to have a cocktail in the bar first and she said great and if you're ready before your buzzer goes off, just come and get me and we'll seat you!! Even about 15 minutes before the reservation, our table was ready in the full dining room. I had walleye and it was some of the best I've had anywhere--Excellent!! My wife had the pork chop special and it was HUGE...….another FINE evening at Timmers!!
Not a good experience. Would not go back. The hostess seated us in almost empty dining room next to a table where the couple yelled when they talked. The glasses of wine were tiny.
Quality of food has dimished greatly. Maybe kitchen staffing changes. Definitely not the high end super club they use to be.
We recently visited for our 20th wedding anniversary and as always, had a nice experience at Timmer's. The location is just lovely and the food and service are always very good.
Somewhat Disappointed in meal. We didn’t realize it was mostly Mexican. We were looking forward to a more traditional supper club style brunch. What was offered was tasty but not what we feel is a brunch offering.
Overall excellent experience.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Timmers. The staff is very friendly and greeted us with warm hospitality. Our meal was delicious and served in a timely manner. The atmosphere is charming and lovely on the water.
Very pricey - asked for a specialty and no one called us back. Very cold outside. Later they put heat lamps out for others as we were leaving. Salad was so very small. 3 leaves is not a salad.
The food was very good and I would go back, soon. My company also enjoyed the food and the place was very interesting.
Everything was perfect. We would definitely come back again. Thanks
It was a great place to have a last family outing together before I go back to college. The food was really good and it wasn’t super loud
In the area visiting a client and came upon this gem!
It was a very good dining experience. We were a table of 5 and the waitress was very personable.
Next time I would request a table that is not right as we walked in as there was a draft.
I'm not sure if the new ownership if struggling at all, but the meal and food was just ok, not near what it used to be. I was disappointed in the Filet I had for dinner. It was perhaps the worst one I have ever had. It was overcooked and really tough. I only ate half of it. We also had a cheeseburger that was over done and tough. The service was good, but maybe a little slow on a night that wasn't too busy.
We dined outside which was lovely while a saxophonist played. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us feedback about the various food items on the menu. All of us enjoyed our entrees - pecan crusted walleye, Blueberry Salad with a side of asparagus, tasty scallops and a chicken/red pepper dish. The 4 of us commented on both the service, ambiance and delicious meal.
Beautiful setting. Service was a bit slow, but we were not in a big hurry so for us it was fine. We’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely delicious! My only complaint was the $5.00 upcharge for the special salad. Too much frisee lettuce and not enough blueberries, apples or goat cheese. Love the whole place!
Service was top notch. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was outstanding. We will be back
Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic outside dining area with the views of the lake! Inside dining area has warm wood and large stone fireplace. Perfect for special occasions but dress is comfortably casual. Our favorite place to get steak!
Restaurant is in a beautiful setting, food was very good. The bartender, Brooke, was quite unfriendly... looked at me like I had two heads when we sat and asked for a drink menus then slapped it down in front of us. Didn’t offer pretzels and simply asked if we wanted to close out; and after we did never checked back with us to see how we were doing - she was busy chatting with another employee the entire time. No smile on her face either, so I was nervous how rest of our evening would continue at dinner. Kayla, our waitress was wonderful, happy to serve us and friendly - so it turned why started a sour experience all around. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, but I was very close to telling off the bartender right then and there.
Will be back with family and friends soon! Thanks for great food and music, we enjoyed it (except that bartender’s attitude)
Italian themed brunch was outstanding! Service didnt miss a beat. We will be back
We went for the Sunday Buffet and it's really good! I suggest it to anyone that want's to spend a little more money on a great meal! The made to order omlets were awesome and the staff was great! If you are a sweets person, you will love the deserts too!
Great service! Timmer's was exceptionally busy and everyone did an awesome job. The walleye was awesome - the best I've ever had! Just like fresh walleye right from the Canadian waters!! Beautiful night for a walk down to the lake. Brother and sister-in-law from Illinois were very impressed - loved the look inside - they said it reminded them of up north. They had been here over 20 years ago and love the new look.
Thank you. We will be back again!
Excellent dinner choices on a lovely patio. The roasted beet salad was delicious.
We had a delightful dinner and evening while eating on the patio! It was the first time for our daughters and their families and they were greatly impressed! With eating outside we enjoyed the lovely, peaceful surroundings of the resort and we had the added benefit of allowing the children to go play in the green fields when they were impatient with the leisurely pace if dinner. Everyone enjoyed a walk to the lake and had some great family pictures to remember our 45th wedding anniversary. Thank you Timmers!
We had a wonderful evening dining at your establishment; would definitely dine again. Our waiter/server was awesome; friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Thanks Spencer!
When we have visitors from off the lake, we like to bring them to Timmer's, our lake's historic resort. So far this summer, we have brought two groups for dinner, which all enjoyed. But yesterday we brought guests to what we remembered as the special Timmer's brunch. The ambience was very nice, but the food was disappointing. We are used to your Sunday brunch including roast pork and salmon (or similar entrees). Instead we were surprised to find the two entrees were enchilidas and fajitas, which no-one in our party took. Fortunately, you still had the omelet bar, which we enjoyed. Is this a permanent change? Next time I will check on the menu before making a reservation.
Beautiful resort. Awesome to read the history and see the old pictures!
We had a wonderful time eating dinner on the patio and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a special night. The staff was great and food was terrific!
Went to see our friend Ray ie Sinatra the singer but the dinning was superb.
Great Sunday Brunch, a little unique with lots of German based foods. We sat on the patio with 3 children, who ran around and played bean bag toss when they were done eating. Amazing service and incredible views.
It was all 3 of my kids Birthdays and we enjoyed celebrating it at Timmers. We will be back!
It’s good and has tremendous potential.
Located in a rural area on a nice sized lake, Timmers has a long history on which to continue to build its reputation. There is new, knowledgeable ownership and management to shepherd the remodeled premises. We liked the food and loved the setting. Service was attentive although hindered by the food prep timing in the kitchen, we scored a free dessert as a result.
So, as in any business that is resetting an operation, there is operational risk. Timmers has a lot going for it and we wish continued success for many more years.
Always spot on
Great patio with lake view
Food and service is alway great
This is still a lovely dining experience if you count ambiance alone. The setting is great and the waitstaff are attentive. Unfortunately since the chef and ownership changed, the food quality has suffered. It's not terrible; it's just sort of - average. Which is a disappointment. Having been a patron for some 30 years, we have seen the ups and downs of this joint, from the scary restrooms of old to the lovely modernization as it now stands. It's a delightful setting on a warm summer evening or a cold winter night. Now if only the food would come back up in quality.....
Setting is beautiful on the lake. We sat outside at a lovely table. They had a 2 person group playing music. Very fun.
Food was very good but our service was disappointing. The dinner took close to an hour after our salad was served. We were served luke warm coffee and even after this we did not receive any apologies or some kind of compensation for the poor service. It was our birthday celebration and nothing was done for that either. This restaurant is on the pricier side so I would not expect this type of service. Very unfortunate.
Timmer’s is our favorite restaurant! The calamari is outstanding!
We went for brunch on a Sunday and were seated on the patio. The food choices were very good, and the fried chicken was great! Service for refreshing the drinks was a bit slow. We will be back.
Great service food & ambience! Job well done grand geneva resort!!
