Timberline Grill - Ameristar Casino Black Hawk Ratings and Reviews
We’ve eaten here twice & had great experiences both times. We sat at the bar this time and our server was very attentive and helpful. The crab cakes were excellent, and my boyfriend’s steak was cooked just right. We didn’t love the potato gratin style side dish (not a lot of flavor), but everything else was very tasty.
We had dinner here for my birthday weekend in Blackhawk last Sat night. We frequent fine restaurants. And, this one is probably up there with one of the best meals we have ever had. Pricey, yes. But, so worth it. I had filet mignon. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband had crab legs. They were enormous. And, sooo good! The potato gratin is out of this world. But, the best part was the 24k bar dessert. It was unbelievable. Add to this the most amazing server (sorry, can't spell his name. Started with an "S"), older gentleman. He recommended a superb bottle of cab. And, catered to our every need. It was noisy. Only bc, it was Sat night. And, they were super busy. But, we felt very well taken care of. Worth every penny! Will def be back. You need a resy for this place. They were totally booked.
We asked to be seated in one of many booths available, we were told they were reserved. But obviously not for our time frame, since they were never used while we were there. So we got a small table approximately in the middle of the restaurant entry:(
Service was marginal at best. The food was decent, overpriced as with everything in Black Hawk...
I had dined here before and had a much better experience.
My wife and were celebrating my 70th birthday. Our waitress was very informative and pleasant. I am sorry I can't recall her name. I ordered a fillet mignon rare and it was perfection. The rest of my feast was very good. Unfortunately my wife had grill shrimp that she enjoyed but the next morning she experienced gastrointestinal issues.
I will recommend Tiberline Grill to all that will listen.
We ordered filet mignon and lobster. The steak was raw on the inside supposed to be med well. The lobster was tough and cold and you couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. It had no flavor. We also ordered soup which was supposed to be chicken tortilla and when it came out it was a pile of shrimp in the middle of a large bowl that they poured a tomato bisque over and called it chicken tortilla. We we're so highly disappointed and will let everyone we know how bad it was. We paid $209 for the worst meal in our lives.
We ordered filets & when they came they were not very thick, as we usually like them. But they were incredibly flavorful and awesome!!!! I guess thickness doesn't matter after all.
And our salads were excellent. Also, the wine was excellent.
Overall great experience.
We arrived on time for the reservation and was immediately seated at our table. The serving staff was very attentive and pleasant. A wine menu was offered before you were settled in our seat, with no recommendations of featuring wines offered. The dinning menu selection was limited and over priced for the selection that was offered.
You would think the Head Chef or Manager on duty would make an effort to engage the customers, to gain insight on their dinner experience for the price of the meal.
Acting like a top rated restaurant with high prices for items offered, does not qualify the establishment as being top rated. Them must bring all areas together, for a great dinning experience for the dinning customer to be a top rated establishment.
Steaks were good, all other items - appetizers, salads, sides were ok. Brussel sprouts not cook. They continue to employ a waiter who has a terrible attitude and creates a bad dinner for us one night. We don’t like seeing him there when we go so we won’t be back anytime soon.
