Steakhouse
With its walls of reclaimed timber, intricately carved wooden bar and solid cherry wood furnishings, the Timberline Grill pays homage to the best Colorado craftsmanship. And its cuisine is equally impeccable. When you’re savoring one of our signature dishes, such as cedar plank salmon or roasted prime rib, in front of a roaring fire, it's easy to imagine that you're high up in the Rockies, experiencing the deep peace that can only be found in an isolated cabin. One that serves Chocolate Avalanche Cake, that is.

Guests must be 21 or older to be on the first floor of the resort, including Centennial Food Hall, Waypost Deli, Timberline Grill and Starbucks. We look forward to your next visit.

It was a little too cool to be comfortable. Our salad and shrimp were good. The filet was prepared to his satisfaction. My seafood pasta was Not very good. It was luke warm and very Spicey. I would not have it again. But I do like very spicey food
and that’s not a problem. This just was not very palatable. It did have 3 shrimp and the small scallops but nothing else. With the prices charged for the food they could no much better.

Prices increased due to Covid, Quality of food has decreased I’ve eaten here many times in the past. Chef seems to be less experienced than in the past.

We had delicious food and great service. We started with a seafood platter with Oysters, crab legs, lobster, and shrimp. Very fresh and tasty. I have filet mignon with asparagus and it was cooked to perfection. Enjoyed a bottle of wine and had a very relaxing dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Dinner for 2 was $240.00. I was charged $39.00 for an crab claw added onto my filet which was burnt on the outside and rare on the inside. It appeared to be the end cut of the tenderloin. No sides come with the meal.

Prompt and knowledgeable server. Food was perfect. Bread service before dinner was fantastic (three assorted rolls and soft butter). My wife and I shared French Onion soup and Caesar salad for starters. Soup was delicious with crouton, melted cheese and delicious broth. The salad comes with delicious dressing, parmesan, crispy crouton toast and anchovy. For dinner we shared prime rib with baked potato and a lobster tail. Well seasoned beef cooked to perfection. The lobster was tender and succulent with clarified butter.

Wagu Ribeye was fantastic. One of best Caesar salads ever had. But the cream spinach was amazing and different with a sous vide egg on top.

Only downside was old fashion was sub par.

We love eating at Timberline Grill when we stay at Ameristar. This last time there was a table of very loud guests that apparently had a bit too much to drink so that took a bit of the ambience away from this visit.

Amazing service from Chad as always. He is very genuine and happy to be there for his customers. You can see this with everyone he serves. He makes our visit the best every time. The food is always top rated and the new items on the menu such as the Mac and cheese was fantastic and we hope it stays on the menu. French onion soup was something we tried for the first time and we will order it again and of course the pork chops are seasoned perfectly. Another great experience overall.

Food was very average. Mushrooms weren’t even cooked and still raw. Filet was overcooked, unattractive, and not flavorful.

My wife had the scallops and I had the Berkshire Pork Chops. Both entrees were outstanding. Our side of Creamed Spinach was delicious.

However, a $12 glass of house red wine and an $8 beer was too pricey!
Hold on to your wallet!!
Two entrees, two drinks and one side took my $100 Bill. Add $20 more for tip and there you have it.

Ate there 8/22. Austin was at FD and was nice enough to change our rezzie from 8:45 to 5:30. Split wedge salad as app. Very good. Entrees: NY Strip and Prime Rib. Both great. Almost too much food. Raspberry cheesecake for dessert....good, not great. Service good and attentive. Always good/ great when we dine there. Make sure you make a rezzie far in advance.

We wanted to show our out of town guests a good time so we decided to go to Blackhawk and gamble a little and get a great dinner.

Our server was very very nice and she did what she could but they ran out of 4 different cuts of steak, two of our sides were terrible and cold (Creamed Spinach under salamander top hot cold bottom, asparagus undercooked) and the steaks we did end up getting were overcooked. All of us ordered mid rare all came out as mid well.

The one positive of the kitchen was the New Zealand lollipops appetizer. Excellent. Fantastic starter.

All four of us work/have worked in the industry and we understand that things happen and sometimes out of control. We are also fully aware of COVID and how this can affect things but to run out of 4 different cuts of steak is a huge fault on the kitchen and more specifically the kitchen manager who I assume handles ordering and then to screw up the sides of fairly basic items is unfortunately for a lack of a better word lazy.

Service was great but for the amount of money we spent the food was subpar

We went to dinner at Timberline Grill on August 16, 2020. Our bill was $130.70.

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and overall it was a decent experience but not something I am likely to repeat.

The staff act as though they are a high end steak house, but their service and food was somewhat lacking.

I had a wedge salad, which was possibly the smallest and most expensive wedge salad that I've ever had. It was maybe a quarter of a small head of lettuce. The salad also included "scalded" tomatoes which were quite delicious, the only saving grace.

My steak was good quality and was cooked correctly, though was what I would consider extremely small for the price. To accompany my salad, I got an order of mushrooms, which came with approximately 6 small pieces of mushroom, all of which had an unappealing taste of propane or some other cooking gas.

My now wife, had the red snapper which was rather dry, and the french onion soup which in her words was "middle of the road".

We are not really complainers and it was not utterly disgusting, so we ate, paid, and left.

The following day we went to the White Buffalo restaurant at the Lodge casino, and had a considerably better time for a far more reasonable price.
