Worst experience we’ve had there. Steak tasted like it was cooked in oil and sat in it for a while. Biscuits were dry. Cauliflower was hardly cooked. We’ve had a very good meal there before. This one was just awful.
We had really great service! Our waiter was beyond observant and helpful. Brought my 3 year old and she loved it. Very comfortable. The biscuits and crab cakes were unbelievable.
Happy hour specials are only in the bar which is literally right by some of the tables. So for large groups that get an early reservation you can’t take advantage of their specials. I think this should be reconsidered since there was literally no one there at 5pm when we got there. Only bad experience of the night
We enjoyed our dinner. The staff was incredible. They took such good care of us during our visit. Food was a little salty. Braised short ribs were our favorite
Service was great. Food was great. Drinks were great. Everything about this experience was great. Will recommend.
Great food and great customer service by Edgar and the hostess.
Thank you for making our special occasion very memorable.
It was okay. Food is yummy. Drinks took forever first drink forever like 10 minutes but very tasty . Second drink forever 15 minutes stuffed so full of ice it was spilling all on floor . Beverage exact as first tasted yucky weak . Packed and we stared out over the expo window. Pretty boring look .
We had a great time. Food was awesome and our friends visiting really enjoyed the atmosphere.
My husband and I have been coming for special occasions for about 8 years. Over the last 2 years the ownership has changed and it was our first time visiting since the new owners. The menu options are still similar, but it has changed a lot. If you have never been before it is great. However we went expecting the same food, atmosphere and service and it just was a miss for us. It just lost the specialness it had before. The general manager is fantastic and picked up where our server was missing out.
It's been many years since I first tried Tillman's and the first time we were not impressed. (Paid way too much for an IHOP quality steak many years ago.) We decided to give it another try so we went back for DFW restaurant week. This go around the food was much better, but the service was pretty slow. It took about two hours for a salad, meal and dessert. I will say the steak is much improved and the wine was excellent!
Food is excellent, good choices, well prepared.
Blood orange margarita was good. Scallops were very good and so was the short ribs. The pecan crushed okra was very good.
The food, the place, the ambiance were great! I’m not sure if this is how it works there or if they were short handed or if our waitress was just not as attentive as she should have been but I felt like the host/manager was more attentive to our table then our waitress, but again I’m not sure if that is just the way it works at this place or not. The food was excellent! I had seared scallops over risotto, the only complaint I had was I wish there had been more risotto! It was so good but I was still hungry after eating it!!
Staff was excellent and food was amazing!
The fried okra was fresh and very well prepared. The chicken fried steak was awesome. Good quality mean and well prepared. Would order it again.
This was my second time dining at Tillman's. The first time for brunch was an excellent experience - this time was not. My food was way overly salted to the point I just couldn't eat it - I had to wait along time for a drink and the restaurant only had a few tables full at the time. It was a business dinner and I made the wrong choice - too loud to even hear each other talk. Waitress was very nice though!
They were out of 3 items on the menu that we wanted to eat in July 16, 2018.
Horrible. Never going back.
Porkchops were awesome. Place is full of old pictures of Dallas, with a very updated decor. The girlfriend and I sat at a bench seat, which included a cushioned side with pillows. Behind is was a very well lit bar, that had a comfortable feel. I was able to steal a bite of the girlfriends beer can chicken, and it wasn't bad. I opted to go with the girlfriends choice for dessert, which was the s'more setup. Very cool setup.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone.
I have recently broken my ankle and mobility is an issue for me. When I made the reservation on OpenTable for Tillman's, I left a note that I am on crutches and needed a table where I could prop my leg up. Let me tell you....they went above and beyond! When I arrived and was walking in, the hostess saw me and came outside to help me in. She called me by name, said she had been expecting me and took me directly to the perfect table. She helped set my crutches to the side and just really made me feel cared for while I waited for my husband to arrive from parking the car. The service was great and cocktails and meal was delicious. But I just really want to share that the folks at Tillman's care about their patrons and go above and beyond. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Consistently delicious food. Very well managed.
It was overpriced for what it was, but my table played our plates fairly safe. I'm confident if we reached a little further, the experience would have been worth it. It is loud, but the ambience is incredible.
Great atmosphere. Loud enough for my 5 year old to be there and not have to tell her to hush every 5 minutes. Great for date nights, nice bar!
I absolutely love this place. The food was superb along with the mimosas.
Ordered filet and rec’d a NY strip with so much fat and a side of french fries! I don’t pay $50 for a steak to receive basically a pork chop with french fries.
I was disappointed on my first experience at Tillman’s Roadhouse. Although it was a Sunday and the crowd was moderate, my table of 4 waited for 30 minutes for a server to ask if we wanted anything to drink and immediately left once our drink orders were taken instead of taking our food orders when we stated we were ready to order. It took the drinks anothe 20 minutes to arrive which were only waters. After finally ordering our food we waited a another 35 minutes only for the food to be cold and over cooked. When we asked for the food to be taken back and served fresh the waitress acted as if it was too much of a hassle. Needless to say we will not be returning.
Went expecting some place with Roadhouse in the name to have a steak or two on the menu, but disappointed to only see skirt steak. I'm sure it would have been good, but want what I had in mind..... So I went with my trusty fall back of a pork chop and was glad I did. Wish the asparagus was a little less wilty, but the jalapeno spoon bread was pretty dang awesome. Generous pour of the Pinot Grigio and a cute little s'mores dessert for my birthday rounded out the evening with nicely. My husband had the chicken and said it was tasty as well. Service was properly attentive by a friendly waitstaff. Only complaint of the night is the bench seating which made me feel like a five year old not able to reach the table. It needs a thicker cushion. I'm 5' 6" and it was uncomfortable to reach as well as sit so much lower than my husband in the chair across from me. The person seated next to me mentioned the same thing as we were leaving.
Food was delicious and service was awesome! Highly recommend the blood orange ritas and finish the meal with the s’mores! They are awesome!!!
Chicken had a good flavor but was really chewy
Good food, good service. Love the Bishop Arts area.
Reservation was attempted to be seated right inside the door in a half empty dining room, request to be more centrally placed at other empty tables was not greeted warmly but grudgingly accommodated by the unfriendly hostess. Food was far from great, best thing was the biscuits, some sort of whitefish was substituted for the Salmon as the kitchen ran out and it was awful and extremely fishy, there was a 45 minute wait between appetizers and entrees, and then 1 entree served 5 minutes before the remaining diners received theirs. Service was inattentive and slow - I approached our server to ask would our entrees be delivered soon and she apologized and did buy our 1 round of drinks to apologize for the kitchen's slow delivery. Unfortunately I can not recommend this restaurant based on my experience and in an area where there are so many options, I recommend you try somewhere else.
Food was excellent! The server was super friendly & fantastic, the manger stopped by to say hello & was so nice too!
Great experience with one minor exception, the hostess. She was cleaning the glass on the front door & wouldn’t stop as we were standing right in front of her waiting to come in for a while. Finally, I just opened the door & said excuse me so we could enter the place. She acted entitled, moody & annoyed to be there & have to speak to us.
Not a good first impression but the servers hospitality quickly made up for it.
Neat atmosphere our waiter Sunny was really helpful. Chicken Fried Steak is a good choice
Overall it was pretty good. However they ran out of the 2 desserts they were offering and the 2 replacement options were pretty lame. Was a disappointing ending to a fairly good meal.
We went for the Mother's Day Brunch. The food was great! The servers were very nice and attentive. As a matter of fact, the entire staff... from the chef to the hostess... was VERY nice and accommodating.
It was a great experience and I would certainly recommend this place to others for special occasions.
Went for a Mother’s Day brunch. They had a fixed menu for Mother’s Day. I don’t always like that, but I understood for the holiday crowd, and they did give a couple of choices. I got the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was great!! The steak was the best! The desserts...I got the chocolate lava cake, very rich. My husband got the lemon blueberry icebox pie jar and he loved it! I should have gone with that as well. Service was great!!
We went to Tillman’s for Mother’s Day Brunch. We were excited as we like to have brunch in Bishop Arts. We had never been to Tillman’s and had read some good reviews. When we arrived we were seated and immediately found a fixed menu on our table. $38.....3 courses, and the “option” to purchase a pastry board (instead of putting in basket it was three pastries on a cutting board). There were two options for starters and about 6 entrees and 2 desserts. Overall the food was sub par. I actually had the best thing on the menu (Shrimp and Grits). We had a
Couple people order chicken and waffles, country fried steak, etc. The desserts were pretty good but forced on you by the Pre-Fixe and not something I ever see people order at brunch. Positive note, the Cocktails were good and also very well priced.
Overall the experience was tainted by the surprise pre-fixe menu. I had reservations for at least 6 weeks and my wife
even called that week to add a person to the reservation. I don’t understand how that change in menu is not emailed, a courtesy call, or mentioned to my wife when she called. Also $38 is steep for breakfast when you aren’t including cocktails or even a pastry.....it’s s shame because we were looking forward to this spot for while.
