Tillman's Roadhouse - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
Not very busy on a Wednesday night. Drinks were good, food was excellent and service was good. Food took a little while but worth it. Price was a bit high but portions were large. Maybe some smaller portions at lower price, then we would have saved room for dessert.
This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. It was such a great treat to share it on our anniversary. We showed up a little late but the service was still impeccable. They had great wine suggestions and were helpful with choosing entrees. The decor is gorgeous and I love the party room with peacocks. The shrimp and grits are wonderful and creamy!! I love the table top s’mores....always a class act. We can’t wait to come back next time we are in town!
This wasn't my first visit - but will likely be my last. Was very disappointed with the service as a whole. We even put on the reservation it was for a birthday - no acknowledgement of it. From not putting down menus/settings for some of the guests to not being accommodating of having a child to just general poor service. Almost had my party leave and go to Eno's was so upset by it.
This dinner was a surprise for my husband's birthday. He and our son share the same birthday, and even he loves sharing his special day, I wanted to make tonight extra special. And Tillman's staff did just that! The ambiance was perfect, food exquisite, and the service was probably the best we've ever received! I would recommend that everyone should visit this local gem. Thank you Tillman's for making tonight so special!
I would call Tillman’s an eclectic Texas bbq restaurant. They have all the chicken, beef and pork. However, our chicken had a great tasting sweet non-bbq sauce. We started with the fried green tomatoes. A basket full of thinner sliced pieces which were dipped in a garlicky spicey batter. And that dipping sauce. Ummm.
We also had a burger and wedge salad.
Definitely well worth it to try this place. And it’s in the cool Bishop Arts District.
Great experience for a Sunday Lunch. The food was impeccable, the service was excellent, (forgetting por servers name) and even the manager Xavi took 5-10 minutes to chat with us ( Very nice touch, represents your restaurant well. I will be recommending other because of that and the other nice touches we experienced on a lazy day in Bishops Arts!
Great experience all around at Tillmans!! Friendly bartender, great food and drinks, fun dessert (smores at the table). Only preference would have been for the place to be not QUITE as loud. But it was a Saturday night and the place was full, so it was not unexpected. A lot of concrete and hard surfaces that amplify the noise. Not really a complaint, just a preference. Would definitely go back!
Went with a group of friends had never been before. The food was relatively good and
our server was friendly and very accommodating and did a very good job assisting one of the people in our group with specific dietary needs. The unsettling thing about the evening was that the manager seemed to be treating our server very badly and we all (5 of us) took notice and
it made us very uncomfortable throughout dinner. Unfortunately I don't think I would recommend the establishment for 2 reasons 1) you just don't treat your staff in that way it is
inappropriate and 2) we spent a lot of money during at this establishment and the managers behavior with this employee really ruined what started out as a great night. There are to many other great places in this area I would take a pass on Tillman's.
We had a reservation but had to take the table literally right next to the front entry door (not ideal). It took quite a while for a server to come over, one smiled at us twice but didn't actually come over to greet our table. Water glasses were tiny and ran out quickly so we had to wait until someone noticed that we needed refills. The restaurant is just one big open room, and since the building is old, sound really carries so it's fairly noisy. We went for restaurant week and the food wasn't bad but it wasn't very impressive either. Also I noticed that everything was lukewarm, even my soup which I would have expected to be hot. I would have preferred my food to be hotter.
Excellent comfort food. Very attentive staff works well together. We had chicken-fried steak that was so tender you could have eaten it with a folk. We also had the smoked pork loin, that was softly pink in the middle with a delectable mix of smoke and sweet hunter’s sauce. The décor has that roadhouse look, but everything is in new condition and very clean. This place is worth a second trip.
Gavin Watson is not associated with this account so not sure why his name is here. I had made the reservation but when we arrived they couldn't find my reservation under Cyndi Bishop. They had a table and we were able to eat there like we had hoped. It wasn't until today that I saw this other person's name in all my emails.
This isn't the first time we've eaten at Tillman's and would recommend it!
