Tilikum Place Cafe Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was busy--I'm glad I made a reservation--but the staff didn't mind seating me before my friend arrived and never rushed us along to free up the table. Our table was in an alcove by the windows, which made for a bit of a tight fit but was fine once we were settled. We had the specials of the day (Eggs benedict and Welsh rarebit), both of which were excellent. The waiter was helpful and attentive without hovering. Overall, a terrific afternoon.
A great dining experience, as always. I visit Tilikum Place Cafe frequently, but I brought a couple friends with me this time and they raved about the delicious flavors and the novel combinations of foods and spices. These things are subtly done, and not blatantly obvious choices as in some restaurants. Just good food with enough of a difference to make it even more pleasurable. Highly recommended!
Love this place, never disappoints! The chicken is always on the menu and is amazing. Specials are creative and interesting. We had the appetizer special, a mussel au gratin and it was delicious! This is one of our favorite Seattle restaurants. It's a good idea to make reservations especially on the weekends or for brunch - which is very popular! The bar makes fantastic drinks and their homemade sorbet is SO good!
Tilikum Place Cafe was a fantastic dining experience, probably say it was some of the best food I've ever had. We came from Vancouver for a Seahawks game and decided to try the restaurant based on the great reviews. I've been thinking about the food ever since, every dish we ordered was delicious. Perfectly seasoned, flavours all worked well together and our server was attentive and very friendly. We've already booked a brunch for our next trip to Seattle and will be repeat customers every time we visit the city.
My wife and I had heard good things about Tillicum so we decided to try it.
Everything from the friendly service, the delicious food, great cocktails and comfortable atmosphere made for a wonderful evening.
They were plenty busy but we never felt rushed and were able to relax and take our time between our appetizers and dinner.
Not inexpensive but as a whole dinner experience we felt that Tillicum was a great value compared to many restaurants at this price range in Seattle.
Will definitely be back.
I came here with a friend for our monthly brunch and it was one of the best restaurant meals I have had. The baked egg was perfectly temped, flavored and presented. This place is great for small gatherings and the service is exceptional. Make sure to book ahead of time.
As it turns out, this was a great place to go before the 7:30 Saturday evening opera. Friendly, quick service in a charming place near McCaw Hall, and fantastic food. (Going to the opera really isn't so much about the opera itself, but instead dressing up, eating out, and drinking champagne with a beautiful woman.)
Great food and had a lovely conversation with the our server (Sarah with an 'h'). I went with a friend and we had a great time…they are so nice that they don't ask you to leave even if you are not done by 10:00…we did end up staying longer than expected so apologies for the inconvenience.
I would definitely visit again and recommend it all my friends! Tilikum Place Cafe rocks (especially Sarah!)..Thanks!! :)
This place is all about eating beautiful food in season and enjoying the cozy and warm ambiance. Very much a "local" favorite. If you're visiting Seattle, make sure you go here instead of to one of the big name places you've heard about. You'll be glad you did.
One of my favorites—good for shared small plates or larger entrees. They use fresh ingredients creatively and flavorfully. Not too big, and great old building. Great desserts and well chosen wine as well. I will go again & have already recommended to others (who also sang its praises).
We arranged an early dinner here prior to seeing a concert at McCaw Hall. This is a small and cozy little restaurant with a European feel. The service was a bit slower paced, like Europe, and it was nice because we did not feel hurried. We had great mussels for appetizers. Then we both had black cod, the fresh seafood of the day. The whole meal was wonderful! They had vegetarian options too that looked good. I will be back to try these.
The kitchen took an 1 1/2 hours from sitting down to getting our entree, both of us had the special so nothing that should have taken any extra time. Others around us seemed to get there meals in a much more timely fashion. Food was great, so it made the wait a little better.
This was a great dinner, the Flat Iron Steak and the Pan Seared Chicken were over the top delicious -- very tasty light sauce on the chicken and the green beans were the best I have ever eaten anywhere. I would love to know how did that ! Nice, small restaurant located between Bell Town and Seattle Center. Good atmosphere and reservations are a must.
Just a super dining experience all-around! Not too noisy at 8pm, in spite of the fact that it was full. It is a pleasant change to be able to actually HEAR the conversation of the person across the table! We had the tomato-romesco-pine nut salad as a starter and it was outstanding: unusual vinaigrette that we loved and it was large enough to share. The real "killer", though, was the roast chicken with the classic sauce Robert. It comes with shoestring fries and French green beans, and these soak up the savory sauce. We also used the delicious and crusty bread to do that! I think this is my new favorite restaurant. I really do! I also have to mention the warm welcome we got from the staff and the attentive and knowledgeable server. When we left, the manager (or perhaps the owner) went out of her way to thank us. Very much appreciated!
