Tilikum Place Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Had Sunday breakfast at Tilikum Place Cafe on a recent trip to Seattle. Good thing I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance because the place was full. The place is very cute and quiet with a great view of the Space Needle from my window seat. The Savory Dutch Baby (the reason we came) was fantastic and absolutely worth the trip. We also has a Pork Belly Benedict special and Baked Eggs - both fantastic! Great food, service, ambiance and no wait with a reservation.
The kitchen was very slow. Service felt disjointed - it wasn't clear who was serving us, it took long time to order, it was hard to flag someone down for requests (ie to take our order), etc. This was intended to be a "lunch hour" kind of lunch, but it took almost two hours to get in and out! Ambiance is great, food was decent, but it just took too long and we didn't feel adequately valued by the staff despite having pretty standard expectations for service.
Without a doubt, the BEST brunch in Seattle. The place has a wonderful ambiance and the food is extraordinarily creative and delicious. There is a full bar and french press coffee available. The service is exceptional. Depending on who you're sitting near, it can get a bit loud, but not too loud to have an intimate conversation. Early reservations are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED or you will wait for an hour or more to be seated. If you do have to wait, it's still worth it.
Thursday night date night. We arrived early and were seated right away. Not crowded when we arrived but full soon after. Waitress pleasant, attentive, and helpful. Food was good but not outstanding. We both loved the Brussels sprouts. We really enjoyed ourselves but not blown away. Would easily recommend.
I love, love, love the food at Tilikum Place. I try and get there as often as I can afford it, and for special occasions.
On this instance, everything was amazing - the bar service, the ambience, the extra bread and the warm environment. The only thing that didn't get 5 stars was my food, this time. I had the scallop special with mini beans and kale and it was probably the most disappointing meal I've had there. This is no reflection on TPC - this was just a major miss and out of the 25+ meals I've had there, an acceptable one. That being said, if you see this review Open Tablers - I can't suggest TPC enough. GO!
Tilikum Place Cafe is one of our favorite Seattle restaurants! We love their food, the staff is always friendly and glad to see us and it's just a great place to have a nice casual meal! Their appetizer pasta is the best and you can never go wrong with their chicken! Thanks for a great Sunday night dinner!
I got the baked eggs, as I am a vegetarian. The food was really good and great value for money. The service was great and the split the checks individually, for a party of size 5 which made it very easy. My friend with a lot of food allergies was also graciously accommodated.
Cozy darling restaurant near the Denny triangle and space needle. It was a cold rainy night and the Tilikum Place Cafe offered excellent cocktails, incredible fresh ingredients that made the true cod dish memorable. I have wanted to try this restaurant for awhile, but always booked elsewhere. What a great find - totally Seattle!!
This was our first visit to Seattle and a chance conversation with a regular customer of Tilicum's led us to the cafe. We were delighted with the food, service and ambience and even came back a second night for dinner. We'd love to experience breakfast and lunch if we ever visit Seattle again.
Thanks for this wonderful cafe experience.

Surely with all the great reviews this place is going to be delicious. Well, sadly...nope. First of all, our waiter was inattentive. The seating is super uncomfortable, too intimate and close to other diners. Wasn't my preference. Now let me get to the food. We ordered a savory Dutch baby, potatoes, and an egg bake. Did I order the wrong dish? Was there something else people were positively reviewing that I should have ordered? Because let me tell you, what we got was disgusting. So horrible we took a couple of bites of each and bounced. I'm not one to complain so we sucked it up, paid, and left. Seriously though, the food tasted nasty. Come in seattle!
We were looking forward to dining here, but disappointed that the food was over seasoned to the point of being inedible. The restaurant made a good service recovery effort and comp'd the dish, however, I left hungry which defeats the purpose of dining out. Service was adequate but not particularly warm or inviting.
