Tilikum Place Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit to Seattle and a chance conversation with a regular customer of Tilicum's led us to the cafe. We were delighted with the food, service and ambience and even came back a second night for dinner. We'd love to experience breakfast and lunch if we ever visit Seattle again.
Thanks for this wonderful cafe experience.

Surely with all the great reviews this place is going to be delicious. Well, sadly...nope. First of all, our waiter was inattentive. The seating is super uncomfortable, too intimate and close to other diners. Wasn't my preference. Now let me get to the food. We ordered a savory Dutch baby, potatoes, and an egg bake. Did I order the wrong dish? Was there something else people were positively reviewing that I should have ordered? Because let me tell you, what we got was disgusting. So horrible we took a couple of bites of each and bounced. I'm not one to complain so we sucked it up, paid, and left. Seriously though, the food tasted nasty. Come in seattle!
We were looking forward to dining here, but disappointed that the food was over seasoned to the point of being inedible. The restaurant made a good service recovery effort and comp'd the dish, however, I left hungry which defeats the purpose of dining out. Service was adequate but not particularly warm or inviting.
The food was excellent and incredibly well priced. My only criticism would be the service. It took a waiter over 30 minutes to come by and take our order. They had helped tables who were seated after us but to be fair it was very busy. Overall our experience was wonderful and we would happily return again.
Had family in town and decided on Tilikum Place Cafe for our early holiday dinner. The host happily rearranged seats for us when we had one extra person join and got us all set with drinks. Appetizers were beautifully displayed and scrumptious and dinner was also delicious. I had the night special of lamb shank with cardoons and soft polenta. Family had pork tenderloin, the chicken, fish special, pasta, and a vegetarian dish. All plates were clean by the end of dinner!
I travel often and eat out regularly, and I would not only rate this one of the best restaurants in Seattle, I would rate this one of the top five restaurants I've ever eaten at. Every bite was delicious, the service was impeccable, and it's walking distance to the Chihuly Glass and Garden exhibit and Space Needle. Great find and I would make it a point to go back here when in Seattle. Ambiance was quiet and romantic, food was wonderful. A very special place.
Redefines neighborhood gem! Outstanding Menu but don't miss the specials! Every course was meticulously prepared and cooked to perfection. Outstanding service, made you feel as though you are a regular guest. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable. Our waiter brought several bottles of wine directly to our table for an impromptu "tasting"! Just doesn't get any better.
We arrived 45 minutes before our reservation because our play let out earlier than we had anticipated. We were seated at the bar by the kitchen and were told that we could either stay there or move to our table when it was ready. We stayed at the bar to watch the action in the kitchen. Everything we had was amazing and cooked perfectly. Who knew kalamata olives would pair with roasted Brussel sprouts in a salad? This is our new go to when we are in Seattle for the theatre!
We enjoyed a very nice lunch at Tilikum Place Cafe after visiting the Chihuly Glass Museum. The cafe was within walking distance to the museum. The soup and sandwich lunch combo was delicious and reasonably priced. I enjoyed the Butternut Squash curry soup with a chicken salad on a baguette and my friend had the French onion soup with her sandwich. Both were delicious. My husband had the baked bean plate with a fried egg on top and he enjoyed it also. The cafe is small so reservations are a good idea. Highly recommend it!
Visiting Seattle, I needed to find a place that was cozy and delicious near Seattle Center. The reviews seemed too good to be true, but the experience... was even better. My wife and I loved everything. They seated us promptly in the seat we asked for. Our server Ford was a gem, catered to our few small asks, and had a breezy sweet air about him like he actually enjoyed his job. And the food... I'll be dreaming about the baked eggs, harissa kale soup, and dutch baby. Even the coffee was perfection. Making this a ritual every time I go back to Seattle.
An incredible eatery in the shadow of the space needle. We stopped by for a Sunday brunch and had one of our more memorable meals in a long time. The Dutch babies were excellent, the egg specials great and the service superb. A must hit up for anyone in the area!
We happened upon this place by chance, and could not have been happier. It is small, but comfortable. Service was excellent and friendly, and food was delicious. We never order chicken when we go out because we eat it at home, but upon the recommendation of our server, we shared the pan seared chicken, and it was great. Also had two salads that were to die for! Great meal overall.
One of our favorites. It has everything that pleases me in a restaurant. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The service couldn't be better. The ambience was perfect; there was nothing of the over-designed cheesiness that I find so annoying. It was quiet enough to have a pleasant conversation without shouting. No 90s beats in the background, no embarrassing attempts to be hip or current. Just a great, low key, dining experience. This sort of restraint and good taste earns my future business.
