Tilikum Place Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Simply outstanding. Sampled several plates. The sauteed vegetables were awesome! The Kasseri wrap with tbe chutney was outrageous. The baked oysters were sensational. The grilled flat iron steak, though medium rather than my preferred medium rare, was so tender, juicy and delicious. The fish of the day, halibut was perfectly prepared and the Lavage Aioli was mind blowing. April, our server, was really helpful to my gluten free wife and a delightful server with a bubbly personality.
What a find! I have lived in Seattle and now travel there for work once a month at least. I am in the food and beverage industry and frequent restaurants all of the time. I can not say how shocked I was to not know about this place. We went here on the recommendation of a co-worker. Made a reservation to be safe and as it turns out it was needed. Had dinner here on a Thursday night and it was just about full when we came in. We ended up choosing to sit at the bar rather than a table. Our food and service was absolutely fantastic. Had the oysters and pasta as appetizers and both were great. As entrees we had the steak and the lamb. The lamb was out of this world. My buddy who had the steak said it was the best meal he has had in Seattle. The lamb had this feta flan that was crazy good. The texture was divine. The meal was perfect. I will definitely be back.
The Tilikum Place Café is a such a gem I hesitate to let people know about it. As Seattle natives
this is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. Quaint, European flair with fresh seasonal local food consistently prepared creatively. Staff is top notch. Foodies will love this place!
I've always thought of 'peas' as something that can be okay, even good, and, sadly, worse than mundane. At long last, I was served a dish worthy of raves, consisting mostly of fresh peas cooked to perfection, sauced with other seasonal vegetables also cooked to perfection. Although described as a 'side dish', it was a mainstay of my meal. What an experience! And the lowly pea to boot! I'd put this place on my bucket list any time.
our first visit and it was great . Started off with house made pork and cherries PATE', that was a 10, then had the house special chicken and my wife had the lamb. both a 10 . Finished it off with homemade FRENCH TOAST ice cream and a fabulous sorbet. WOW!!
The food ranged from tasty to really delicious. We were especially impressed by the pasta with hazelnuts and sage, the halibut, and the lamb. We didn't like the beet salad and the desserts as much as the rest. By contemporary standards the noise level was manageable, though louder than we would have preferred.
I have been to TPC a number of time in the past 12 months. It's become one of my fav. Seattle restaurant/bar combos. The food is always healthy and exceptional. Always! Whatever I order, it's always great! The Cadillac Margies are even more exceptional - have two!
Classic Dutch Baby Pancake was really good. The breakfast baked beans were also really good and super filling. Maybe a little too much bread came with the breakfast in relation to the quantity of other types of food on the plate, but it was good nonetheless. Quality bacon as well.
Delicious fres strawberry, spinach & arugula salad, halibut & oysters, very good cocktails & excellent service -- friendly, knowledgeable & efficient. Great little neighborhood bistro with outstanding creative foods & yummy home-made beans! We visit whenever we are in Seattle.
We had the best dinner with friends at the Cafe on Saturday night. Don't miss the baked oysters! They are delicious. We all said we should have had them as an entree....they are that good! The guys had lamb that was excellent! My salmon was outstanding and my friends, halibut was the best. Our server was a gem and kept us on schedule to get to the Rep to see our play. I have been here several times and always leave with a great meal and a fun evening!
We have always enjoyed Tilikum's brunch! Definitely plan ahead if you want to eat here because it's hard to get a table without a reservation. Everything on the menu is tasty but definitely look at the specials (on a board on the wall). Usually we get one sweet dish and one savory dish and share.
A neighbor told me about this little gem. We live in Edmonds so it's a bit of a drive to get to Tilikum Cafe from here. She said it is her favorite restaurant to go into Seattle for, to get out of our neighborhood for a change. She was right, it's worth the drive! The food is delicious, very creative and the service is very good. Prices are reasonable. They have specials every day of creative, delicious, wholesome, nutritious food. They have a bar and bar eating area. If you want to eat here, you really should make a reservation.
Requested and got a last minute dinner reservation on a Memorial Day weekend trip to Seattle and was richly rewarded. The dinner menu is beautifully chosen and deciding on apps, starters and entrees was difficult. We opened with the baby artichokes--done to a perfect crispness, yet still "meaty". Followed with the spring vegetable salad--shaved asparagus, carrots, fennel and black radishes in a light anchovy vinaigrette. Not at all fishy, just light and yummy. We ordered the fish fish of the day--pan seared halibut served over julienne potato sticks and tomatoes served in a light broth, and the roast chicken (the best ever thanks to the roast potatoes and mustard seed inspired pan juice. Profiteroles for dessert made at our request with the special caramel malt chocolate chunk ice cream and delicious french-press coffee made for a great finisher! The staff, especially our server April, were all knowledgable, warm and attentive to our enthusiastic dining experience. Now we have to go back to Seattle and try this same place for what we here in an outrageous brunch experience.
TWO THUMBS UP!
I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions, and everytime it hasn't dissapointed my experience. Not saying its perfect, but the food is really good. The service is attentive as always.
For myself it's important to have food that's approachable and a class above itself.
When you see a walk-in during Sunday brunch without a reservation, and they are informed it's at least an hour wait on the list. That's a sign to let you know people like this place. It's up to you to find out if it's worth it. For myself, I be there again with my reservation! 🐼
We were in Seattle for vacation and found this gem around the corner. April was an amazing server; she was super friendly and gave great suggestions. The food was amazing, really it was. The restaurant was quaint, but saw families and couples on dates. You can go casual or dressing. All I can say is AMAZING!!! We went two nights in a row... that says so much in my book.
