Tilikum Place Cafe Ratings and Reviews
We arranged an early dinner here prior to seeing a concert at McCaw Hall. This is a small and cozy little restaurant with a European feel. The service was a bit slower paced, like Europe, and it was nice because we did not feel hurried. We had great mussels for appetizers. Then we both had black cod, the fresh seafood of the day. The whole meal was wonderful! They had vegetarian options too that looked good. I will be back to try these.
The kitchen took an 1 1/2 hours from sitting down to getting our entree, both of us had the special so nothing that should have taken any extra time. Others around us seemed to get there meals in a much more timely fashion. Food was great, so it made the wait a little better.
This was a great dinner, the Flat Iron Steak and the Pan Seared Chicken were over the top delicious -- very tasty light sauce on the chicken and the green beans were the best I have ever eaten anywhere. I would love to know how did that ! Nice, small restaurant located between Bell Town and Seattle Center. Good atmosphere and reservations are a must.
Just a super dining experience all-around! Not too noisy at 8pm, in spite of the fact that it was full. It is a pleasant change to be able to actually HEAR the conversation of the person across the table! We had the tomato-romesco-pine nut salad as a starter and it was outstanding: unusual vinaigrette that we loved and it was large enough to share. The real "killer", though, was the roast chicken with the classic sauce Robert. It comes with shoestring fries and French green beans, and these soak up the savory sauce. We also used the delicious and crusty bread to do that! I think this is my new favorite restaurant. I really do! I also have to mention the warm welcome we got from the staff and the attentive and knowledgeable server. When we left, the manager (or perhaps the owner) went out of her way to thank us. Very much appreciated!
This is one of my favorite places for lunch in the city. I am in a wheelchair and called ahead to inform them. When I went in, a chair had been taken for me already and they were quie accmmodating.
The specials are always inventive and delicious and Monday was no exception.
I had a grilled cheese w huckleberry. Yum.
Staff is excellent!!
Food was well-prepared and tasty (as always). Service was brusque but efficient (we've had much more friendly service in the past). We definitely didn't feel welcome, just tolerated. The server was much more engaged with another table who were obviously regulars.
The more I come the Tilikum the more I like it. I had a meatloaf lunch special and it was wonderful. the home made ketchup was the perfect addition. And the wait-staff is completely great - even when they are super bizzy, they take time to make sure everyone's well served. Just go for it - you'll be happy!
I love this restaurant and eat there every time I visit Seattle. The staff are truly pleasant and attentive and the food is delicious. It is pricey (especially the whiskey), but not out of line for the high quality of the cuisine. The noise level is high, and that may be of concern to older diners (like myself).
When deciding where to celebrate our one-year engagement, it had to be Tilikum Place Café. Living within a few blocks makes it easy for us to walk and we frequent as much as possible, whether for drinks and appetizers at the bar or dining. Upon entering Tilikum, I feel transported to a European adventure in Belltown.
My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Tilicum Place Cafe on Wednesday night. The cucumber salad, special Alaskan salmon entree and peach cobbler we shared were all delicious and beautifully prepared. Our waitress was friendly and first rate. Highly recommended!
Three generations of women, each with deeply held and differing food preferences, enjoyed a gorgeous meal of shared dishes. Each dish was rich in flavor and texture. No missteps from the kitchen. And our wait staff was professional, warm, and completely accommodating. What a lovely meal. Thank you.
Our family saw a recommendation of this place for brunch and decided to make a reservation. It was booked out three weeks, so our expectations were high. And the good news is... we loved it. The food was delicious and our server was somewhat shy, but properly attentive and great overall. The prices were on par for eating a nice brunch in Seattle. They were very thorough in their assisting me live out my newly beloved celiac lifestyle as well, which is definitely a plus. In summary, it was lovely, but you shouldn't go there so that I can get quicker reservations. :)
Pats of butter : I usually breakfast on week ends at Tilikum Place Cafe. On a few occasion I have dined , and I tend to order the more non-meat dishes , and hence more carb laden with butter. I appreciate that the ingredients make good tongue happen and it was wonderful to eat the pasta , the polenta and the fish topped off with bourbon cake, and for health the greens. It was a good evening. I wish I had brought my own bottle . Staff is stretched, or may be I was not a quicker diner!!!
Food was delicious! Everything was prepared to our individual preferences, so substitutions were welcomed. We had special of salmon & cod which were delicious. Also had chicken which was outstanding. Our waiter was very knowledgeable & remembered each specific order without writing it down- and NO mistakes!!! Impressive!
Only minor complaint was that it did take a very long time for food to be served. We ordered drinks & appetizers which didn't come out for a long time. However I will say once food arrived we were very happy with everything. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
A bit small. I wonder if rearranging seating would feel less crowded. Service was very good. Quinoa salad with lemon yogurt vinaigrette was the best that I've tasted. More veggie dishes would be nice (and lighter), in addition to standard, more hearty fare. I will definitely return!
The Dutch babies are over-rated, the savory Dutch was the only tasty item from the 10 items we ordered off of the menu. My friends and I did try all 3 Dutch babies on the menu, the lemon tart had a potent egg flavor and the blueberry ricotta Dutch was mediocre at best! The chicken salad was also a miss. Overpriced and very small portions as well.
Will not go back.
