Tii Gavo, a gathering place at Enchantment Resort Ratings and Reviews
We had a lovely table outside. Our waiter was prompt and very accommodating. It started to get chilly and he lined up two heaters around us. Wine selection was very good and food was delicious. Beautiful view as well. Just make sure you know the way out if not staying there. Roads are very dark and phone reception is limited.
Good value bottle of wine ($55 pinot noir - forget the winery). My chimichanga was disappointing. It had both green and red sauce (fingernails on a blackboard), was half full of beans, and was hard to access having been placed at the bottom of a deep bowl. My guests were pleased with their meals and raved about the setting, of course.
When you’re paying $18 for guacamole and $16 for street tacos you expect a friendly and welcoming reception, pleasant and attentive service, and really tasty food. The entire experience fell well below expectations.
The hostess never broke a smile or welcomed us to the restaurant, but simply asked for our name and time of reservation. The waiter was difficult to flag down and seemed burdened by our existence. The menu and product description sounded very appetizing but were really poorly executed. One might have desired a larger portion if the food was any good... but the meager portions were more than enough.
I would never visit this restaurant again or recommend it to anyone.
We enjoyed the corn nachos! We added chicken and it was a terrific meal. You can’t beat the view . Gorgeous! Our only complaint was the service was a little slow and and the restaurant was not that busy. We had to ask for our refills on Ice-T each time. Over all loved it and I would go back. As a bonus you can show your receipt to the concierge and get a gate key to hike into Boynton Canyon.
We had lunch there with our two young kids and waited over a hour to get our food. Service was slow and not very friendly. The views are amazing but the food is so so. They have great a margaritas and homemade sodas but the overall experience was quite disappointing. Go for a drink not for food
We had lovely drinks and an appetizer on the patio but when our table was ready we were seated next to a table with two young women and two toddlers. Then, even though it was a table for 4, 3 more adults and 3 more toddlers joined them - the kids were obviously exhausted and screaming and yelling at each other. We ended up leaving, and will not go back. The hostess or manager should have addressed this situation rather than ruining dinner for a whole dining room of people.
The best part of this restaurant for us was the amazing view. We sat outside and saw the other side of the canyon as if we could reach out and touch it. Although it was a cloudy evening, we were lucky because a ray of sun broke through for a short time and illuminated part of the rocks at some distance.
We enjoyed the food, though I wouldn't rave about it. We had the guacamole with corn and the street tacos. I had a red sangria, which was one of the best I have ever had.
The menu had very nice offerings. The dressed guacamole was not worth the $20 we paid for it and the jalapeño over powered the taste. The variety sampler of tacos was delicious and they were accommodating for a vegetarian option of the enchiladas. All in all the scenery is what sells for this restaurant.
A beautiful place to dine. The wait staff was very attentive. The tacos are great, having had them before. But this time I had the vegetarian flat bread. The goat cheese was dry making the dish taste like it had been made beforehand and just heated up. If we go back, I'm back to tacos.
We went to this restaurant expecting something special but we're both disappointed - mostly because of the service. The Enchantment Resort seemed to be quite pretentious overall. Our server showed up at our table mere minutes after we were seated when we had barely opened our menus. She seemed to be rather pushy and it was discomforting.
We ordered drinks, an order of guacamole ($19.00!!!) and tacos. The food and drinks were good but $19 for guacamole? It was not priced on the menu because of "the fluctuating price of avocados".
When the server brought out our meals he accidentally spilled my whole drink in my lap, onto my feet and all over the floor ( a nice, sticky margarita). I get it was an accident but it was really unpleasant. The waitress said she wouldn't charge me for that one.....REALLY?? Just before we left, the manager stopped by to see how we liked our meal and I told ld him I liked the food but was a bit uncomfortable after being drenched. He said " oh yes, I heard that YOU spilled your drink". What??? I said, "no, that is not true. Your server spilled my drink in my lap". His way of making up for the issue was to not charge me for my drink and also take off one charge for my partners beer. IMO that was not nearly enough. First - his staff should not have lied about what happened and second - he should have comped our entire check.
The staff was very attentive. The red sangria was some of the best I've had. The skillet enchiladas and pork tacos were outstanding. The prices are a bit high for the type of food but what we had was outstanding. Ours was $40 per person with 1 drink each. Not the best value but the views are phenomenal added to the quality of food, drink and the good service made it worthwhile for our anniversary.
Would definitely go back if in the area again.
This is the better of the two restaurants in the main Enchantment complex, in our opinion, for both service and quality of food. It is the more casual of the two restaurants but offers a very wide range of delicious sounding items.
This was our third visit to Enchantment Resort and it will be our last. One of the few good things about this last visit was Tii Gavo. The staff was well-trained, the food was properly prepared and presented (unlike at it's sister restaurant, Che Ai Chi, down the hall).
On a warm evening, it is so delightful to sit outdoors to enjoy the stunning views.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner! The setting is very romantic. The food is good, not exceptional, but good. The dessert and beer were great. Just keep in mind you're paying for the view and ambiance, and then the slight overpricing is worth it. The wait staff was exceptionally nice. She checked on us often, and we got special treatment on our special day!
When we arrived for our reservation we were told that we would still have to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Why take reservations if you still make your guest wait 30 minutes for them? We were then told we could sit on the patio where it was open seating. We sat there for 10 minutes at a dirty table, seating was very limited so you took the first thing you could. We then moved to a different dirty table that overlook the pool. Someone finally came to clean off the table and take our drink order. The food was ok, service was very slow but very nice. I think they needed separate people to bus the tables and more servers to make it work. I would go back but only for the view.
Food and drinks were very good but way overpriced. $25 for a margarita is ridiculous.
For whatever reason, the restaurant allows dogs. Unfortunately, there was a big hairy one sitting a couple of tables over from us that barfed up what seemed to be a weeks worth of food. The dog owners thought it was appropriate to cover it up with a napkin and pretend like it didn't happen. It took restaurant staff 30 minutes to attend to it but it was too late as I lost my appetite.
I took my wife here for her birthday and had requested twice a cake with happy birthday and a candle. I had to ask a third time before they finally brought it out (without a candle) - no b-day wishes for my wife this year but I imagine it would have been to be somewhere else instead of Tii Gavo that night.
The best part of the restaurant is the view.
This was the first time we've dined at Tii Gavo, and the overall experience was excellent. After reading a few reviews that mentioned long wait times for seating and service, we were prepared to be patient. No need - we had a reservation for lunch and were seated promptly with a choice of outdoor or indoor seating. We chose an inside corner table right by the window with wonderful views. Our server arrived just as soon as we sat down, took our orders, and returned within 5 minutes with our drinks. Service continued to be pleasant and prompt, and our food was delicious. We recommend Tii Gavo for those who want a very pleasant meal in absolutely beautiful surroundings.
Wasn't the right restaurant. No brunch. Ended up going to the other restaurant in the hotel which had an outstanding brunch, beautiful views, and terrible wait service. Waiter disappeared and we never saw him again.Tip built into price or we would have not given as big a tip.
