Tigelleria Organic Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It was just okay. The bread that was brought to us when we sat down was a bit hard. I didn't want to say anything because we were there as guests. The risotto dish I had had very little flavor. No one offered any parmesan cheese after the plates were brought to the table, so I flagged down someone to ask them for some. That helped it taste better. The desserts were also just okay. Too many soft choices. Only one cake, and it took 10 min. to prepare and we had had enough.
We were disappointment in our evening. We were celebrating some family birthdays and were unfortunately not super impressed. We've had very good service and meals there in the past, but this occasion, I cannot say that was the case. Very unfortunate considering the dinning experience is a pricey one.
This was our second visit to Tigelleria. This time we brought friends. The restaurant handled our group of 10 easily and made the kids feel welcome by making them a basic pasta. The food it delicious and the ambience is comfortable, but nice. We will come back:-)
We have been here before on many occasions and usually have been very satisfied. Unfortunately this visit was far below par. Service was poor, slow, unresponsive, and the food at best was mediocre.
The lasagna I had was very average salty and not very satisfying. My wife's cannelloni was overcooked and had obviously been sitting under the heat lamps for longer then needed prior to serving.
It was obviously a busy night but managing clients, staff, quality of food and service are all of what restaurants are about.
I expect more from this Restaurant. It may be a while before we try them again.
We've been to Tigelleria a number of times and have always enjoyed the food. The decor and ambiance is very nice as well. I have always felt that it was on the expensive side, particularly for the portion size.
Thursday night the service was extremely slow to begin with (I had to go find our waitress 15 min.s after the other guests arrived so we could place a drink order). Service improved after I spoke to our waitress, but we then experienced a very long delay (20+ min.s I'd guess) for our entrees to arrive after ordering them.
It wasn't our intent to have a 3 hour meal the other night, but that's what it turned into.
I would recommend Tigelleria to a friend, but with the warning that service may be slow.
As always, we love coming here for dinner. This time, I set up a surprise birthday dinner for my husband and as usual Tigelleria took such good care of us. The food is spectacular and we loved the newly designed menu for the season. The service is wonderful too. We will always be back!
When we arrived the waitress had said she called me to verify our reservation and I didn’t answer. I didn’t have any missed calls. Wasn’t a big deal because she got our table together quickly. The food was good, not great. Towards the end of our lunch the waitress told us that we needed to leave. It was 2:40 and they were closed. I felt like it was extremely rude to ask someone to leave. I did like the food but I will not be returning.
We returned to Tigelleria (after several years ) recently to celebrate a family birthday. We had a nice table for the five of us, one being a 7 year old well behaved child. Our waiter seemed indifferent and aloof throughout the entire evening. We were informed that they would not do a child portion of anything. Really a restaurant that specializes in pasta not willing to do a small portion of pasta with butter? My husband ordered gnocchi with seafood and reported that while the gnocchi was soft and perfectly cooked, there was very little seafood in the dish. I ordered the branzino which was well prepared and very tasty, though pricey. My son had Nonnies lasagna which he said was filling and very rich with cheese. Our other guest had a filled pasta which she reported as okay. We shared an appetizer platter, had no alcohol, salads, or desserts and the bill was well over $200. Even though I personally checked in with our waiter to indicate my sons birthday there was no recognition of any sort made. As the evening wore on the music volume increased to the point we could no longer converse comfortably. We were very disappointed by the experience at Tigelleria.
Expensive for the value, 26.00 for a plate of pasta. The drinks were 15-17.00 dollars, and the drink I ordered was not supposed to have soda water in it but they ran out of an ingredient and did not say. To be fair they took it back but I don't like having to send something back. Overall too expensive for what was offered.
The reason why our most recent dinner at Tigelleria was so disappointing was that we were very excited to take some overseas visitors there to taste some great Italian food after two wonderful meals we had at this restaurant last year. So expectations were quite high, and frankly, every dish was a disaster. The wait staff were as wonderful as we remembered, so we didn’t make a fuss, but we were literally embarrassed after bragging about how good this food would be. Maybe it was an off night.
Very disappointing. We used to come here pretty regularly but the quality, service, and pricing have all gone down. We started with the croquettes and the charcuterie plate. The croquettes came out cold, the charcuterie was fatty and stringy, and the tigelles that used to be light and fluffy are now dense and heavy... $30+ for a small plate of pasta. We had to ask for the bill as the server's seemed to disappear periodically, and when the bill finally came out they "accidentally" charged us for 3 bottles of wine when we only had 2.
