Tierra Sur Restaurant, inside Herzog Wine Cellars new state-of-the-art winery, is a New American seasonal cuisine,

With Tierra Sur, Gabe Garcia's cooking is rustic, unpretentious and ingredient driven utilizing local farmers when ever available. Menu items such as aged rib-eye steak and wild salmon are cooked outdoors over an open flame. The menu also includes house-made organic corn tortillas with exotic fillings such as birria (chili-braised lamb) with salsa cruda and grilled achiote-marinated red snapper with tomatillo salsa. A high point of the menu is the prix fixe wine tasters meal with wine pairings for each course.

Worst steak ever tried to eat.like a piece of boot leather.unable to eat it,and I like meat ,any meat.
The waiter described it as real angus meat.....felt like a leftover from the day.wasn’t soft,difficult to cut and virtually tasteless....and all that for $54!!!!!!!!!!left half of it on the plate!!!!!!
Felt cheated to be quite honest....was an idiot that I didn’t demand my money back.
Had heard such good reports about you,but wouldn’t recommend you .
8oz for $54 dollars ....it’s called ..chutzpah
Oh and by the way....before i’d left your premises ,already felt the indigestion setting in.
Have eaten in NEW YORK,LONDON and TEL AVIV but have never felt a waste of my money as now

A wonderful experience.
Was able to do a full tasting prior to dinner.
Great wine tasting staff and very warm restaurant environment. Super accommodating and insightful waitstaff.
Will go back here every time I’m in the area.

We had a late lunch on Sunday there. Place is closed on Friday and Sat for sabbath. Is located in an industrial type area in Oxnard so its a nice surprise. Excellent service and wine explanation from Gina, our server. We split the rib eye special-it was delicious — perfectly cooked as medium rare smoked with a delicious berry glaze, purple potatoes, mushrooms and greens. Also a side of the squash and salad. We also did a 2 flight wine each with our meal. Definitely will come back!

Our second visit, it was very good. Food was excellent and service was attentive. Great place for a date night, we were here for Valentines Day.

I wouldn't be saying this but I got an email and I assume you want my truth about this. I was all excited coming. I heard from many friends and family that this is the place to visit. However when I got there and sat down and ordered I was very disappointed.

Amazing restaurant. The waitress and chef were very accommodating when I asked to change some parts of my order. Very quick service. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. Would highly recommend for a nice night out.

They wouldn’t substitute one type of lettuce for another(both were on the menu). The entree dish of gnocchi was redicules small. They refused to add a side dish of mushrooms .
The Uruguayan steak was hard and had a big piece of ligament.
The flourless chocolate cake was excellent.
