Tidewater Grill - Charleston
Dinner: Monday - Thursday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday - Saturday: 4:00pm - 11:00pm, Sunday: 12:00pm - 9:00pm
For a thirty dollar entree I would have expected more than two little shrimp, two little scallops and two small pieces of fish. The salmon and cod were overcooked and dry and everything was too salty.
Great and fresh seafoood.interesting appetizers.fast and pleasant service.
Wonderful food and excellent service!
Don't be hesitant to choose this exquisite seafood restaurant just because you are in land-locked Charleston WV. The seafood is flown in daily. The service is always great as the servers are seasoned and provide a great experience. The food is wonderful. Try the jerked shrimp appetizer. Everyone loves the Greek salad, but I always get house salad because I can't get enough of the yogurt dressing. Fresh fish fixed as you like it and a lovely wine list. Love this place. Great outdoor dining/people watching too.
Our waiter Wesley was very friendly and quick. Nice young gentleman. So many now a days are just there for the job.
The kids and i always love Tidewater! great bread! great Greek salad!
Food and service was great. Courses were brought out at correct times and drinks were always full.
One of the best meals we’ve had in years and service was over the top too! Hint: try the crab ball appetizer!
Seafood quality of food was poor. I had the worst scallops ever--overcooked and tasted like they had been frozen. The shrimp and scallops dish was swimming in a 1/4 inch of very buttery sauce--terrible. The prime rib that my husband had was better. This was our second trip. The first time we ate here was several days earlier. had the lobster bites which were OK. My husband had the lobster roll which was also poor quality. So he wanted to try a beef dish and was more pleased.
Good table for our needs but even though the restaurant seemed slow our server was mostly absent. Took her time getting our drink order and food was even slower coming out. Don't remember inquiry about an appetizer. Our party was there during happy hour but happy hour is available only to those seated in the bar area. Note there is not enough bar seating especially for a larger group. For the most part the food was as expected, generally good, except the last two times we have visited this restaurant there has been an issue with raw broccoli. In years past it was always cooked perfectly, not overdone but not raw as it seems to be now. The restaurant does have a nice birthday promo which makes us want to frequent it also at other times but not on their "miss" evenings. This occasion was definitely a miss, not up to their usual, hoping it is a fluke.
My husband and I both ordered a seafood dish, and we were both very disappointed in the quality of the seafood especially the swordfish and salmon. We had eaten at Tidewater in previous years, and we had always enjoyed it. This time was very disappointing.
Food has always been good here from Calamari to salads to steaks, chicken and seafood, to their new Brussel sprouts. Service is usually good but this Day, our waiter forgot that salads come with the enteees, didn't offer more water, seemed at a loss when we said we didn't have silverware and he actually had to hunt for silverware. Maybe he was just newer there. I'll still go back though.
was a graduation celebration....reservations were handled very professionally....overall experience was good.....frequent visitor.....waiter was friendly but did not appreciate his comments about other dining quest....one order was nor prepared as requested but was corrected by the kitchen staff...had to request water refill several times.....waited a long time for the check and was solicited by the waiter for a 20% tip....very unprofessional....left with a bad feeling and purposely left a 10% gratuity
Delicious oysters, scallops, crab cakes, rolls with wonderful service- in WV-pretty rare.
Always love coming here. Wish there was a Tidewater in Hurricane, wv (we live about 25 miles away) rather than having to go into Charleston, wv.
Got the beef tips ordered medium. About two of the 12-15 were cooked to that standard, the rest were uncooked or rare at the best.
Delicious food. Waitress seemed new. Burger was way undercooked
Enjoyed our dinner and our waitress provided EXCELLENT service.
Our second visit here...well worth getting off the interstate when in Charleston. Food is delicious and service excellent.
just what the doctor ordered. Food, wine were wonderful and MaryAnn took great care of us.
Good food and drink as always. The seafood was fresh and grilled to perfection. One of my favorite places to eat. Period.
We were traveling home from Fla and booked a hotel within walking distance to Tide Water. We have dined there before and been pleased. It was the evening of the Fabulous Four. They gave us a table close to the TV and put the game on so we could watch! The oysters and Prime Rib were delicious! Service was outstanding.
I selected Tidewater for a business meeting that included 3 locals and 2 out of state visitors. I had not been to Tidewater for a couple years and always enjoyed it and wanted a good experience for my visitors. Minor bumps such us being given lunch menus (we arrived at 6pm). The dinner menu looked to be the same except for higher prices on the same menu items. Also our server seemed confused about the inclusion of a side item on the jambalaya when it was clearly listed as included. He seemed to say he was doing us a favor by allowing that person to include a side item. Other than those initial bumps the experience was good to very good. The hot bread is always a treat and everyone was pleased with the preparation and quality of their meals which included 2 blackened swordfish steaks, jambalaya, fried shrimp and baked, stuffed flounder. Prices were reasonable for the food, service and quality.
Exceptional from start to finish
Good food and service, nice atmosphere. Have been there several time on the way thru town. One of the best in Charleston
Tidewater Grill is always a great choice for dining in Charleston, WV. The seafood is very fresh. The grilled swordfish is always good and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bread and greek salad are unique and great. All the food is very fresh. The service is always very good. Tidewater has a large open bar and raw bar too. It has multiple options for beer, wine and cocktails and all are good value.
We came to town for my son's birthday, Clay center Symphony w/Jurassic Park and dinner. I made my reservations on line and everything was just perfect. Great service and food.
Great calamari, halibut and kale salad. Steamed broccoli was drenched in some kind of sauce that ruined it. We should have been offered an option to have it plain with no sauce. Excellent martini and service. I will return.
Everything was great
One standout aspect is their delicious dinner rolls!
Great food, very attentive waiter. Clean, nice and quiet.
Very welcoming- everyone’s appetizers and dinners were perfect.
Had a great night celebrating my birthday.
Ordinarily I like Tidewater. This time the waitress got the order wrong. And the chef did too. I ordered steak medium rare and got it medium well.
Three couples enjoyed a nice evening in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Service was great, the food was good, and we will enjoy the restaurant, again.
Great place for an unplanned get together with friends
We went for my husband's birthday. We were disappointed because they were out of two different kinds of beers and salmon. For this type/price of restaurant, I don't think you should have to settle for a second or third choice. The food we did have was very good.
We had a wonderful experience with Travis as our waiter. It was a family get together occasion with cousins, sisters and my 82 year old mother with her 92 year old brother! Travis was exceptional!
Wonderful evening with friends and family. Food was delicious.
Great service from “Gabby” , she was very attentive and patient with our group.
