The place was empty,but service s l o w
Been here many times but were constantly looking for server for drinks, etc. have never been there that long.
Have you ever eaten Oysters with chopsticks? They have No Oysters forks, according to the waitress. Our food was very good but our waitress was a "clown" - she had on so much makeup she actually looked scary and her accent was so bad, she had to write out something on a cocktail napkin because we could not understand her. To make matters worse, she constantly interrupted my husband when he was asking about ingredients in an item. We left there very discouraged and were sorry we went there for Mothers Day.
In all fairness, we did call the restaurant the next day and spoke with Chef Robert.k While he wasn't aware of the oyster fork issue, the other issues we spoke to him about he was well aware of them. At his request, we will be returning too the restaurant in the near future. I am sure our experience will be much better and we look forward to it. This restaurant is not far from our home and we would like to be able to come here with confidence that not only will the food be good but other issues will be come up.
Food not as good as in the past and server was awful. Rushing us to order and cold as ice. Maybe she was upset to be working on Mother’s Day but that shouldn’t be our problem. Very disappointed
Love your Pan Roast. I was disappointed that the soft bread sticks were only temporary. Wish they would serve a soft roll rather than the hard crusted bread which is hard to bite into. Please bring back the soft bread sticks!
As always, our server Denise was great and very efficient.
Susan's Gumbo was delicious and plentiful enough that she brought home a leftover. I had the soup and sandwich. The chowder was the best I've had in a long time. The crab cake po-boy was okay. The problem was the crab cake was too fat for the bread and it made it hard to bite. The cake itself had a bit too much mayo but tasted fine!
This is a great seafood/sushi place with a great vibe and atmosphere.
Everything was good but our service was almost non existent. We received our food and never saw our waitress again. She didn’t even check to see if we needed anything. Our drinks were dry and we wanted to order another sushi roll. We were there an hour and a half. We shared two rolls and an order of shrimp tacos. The food was good, but service not so much.
My favorite dish is the sashimi which, in the past, I have enjoyed with a bowl of HOT rice. While TIDES serves rice, it is with sushi, not as a side dish. The restaurant used to have a microwave so that the rice I ordered could be heated up, but I have been told that the microwave has been removed. As a result, the rice is now being served at room temperature which is not desirable or the way it is traditionally served with sashimi. I would love for TIDES to either served steamed hot rice or bring back the microwave. Other than that, we love this restaurant. Thank you.
OK for a meal, was average compared to other Casino Restaurants available.
the food is still great, and we keep going back. it's a little pricey, but as long as i get good high-quality food, i'm ok with paying a little more. much better than the alternative, which is paying good money for bad food.
there are very few good seafood restaurants around, so i'm hoping these guys stay around for a long while.
Food is good, service is a bit slow and then takes too long to pay...but if your not in a hurry enjoy. Also bring a sweater very cold in the dining area
Love the seafood!! Great menu with a good selection
Sea food which was pricey was over cooked and dry. Waitress ignored us. We had to ask for everything I.e bread basket and water refills. She told us the bread was still in the oven on two occasions despite I saw three different customers get bread that came after us including the table next to us which got a second basket. We are local resident and go to GVR frequently. We will never go to Tides again. Very dissapointed
We had the Blue Point oysters for lunch. They were very fresh but not full of flavor. Bland is best description. I have always loved Tides and GV Resort but they were off their game this time. We sat at the counter and the two ladies who waited on us seemed not unfriendly, but just disinterested. No friendly smile, suggestions or even any apparent interest in what we would like to eat. I will be back, but only because I think Tides must have been having an off day.
I haven't been here for a few months, so this was a very welcome visit. The food and service were great. It's tough to get really good seafood, and Tides is always great.
the food was as expected. the waitress was the worst that I have had since I moved to las vegas. she was not pleasant and was rude to the bus boys. everytime I asked for more of something she was very aloof and gruff. she definitely should not be a waitress and this was the first time in my life that I have never left a tip. I expect better service for such a nice restaurant. I spoke to the chef and made him aware of my lousy service. I was with another my wife and another couple and they shared my displeasure.
Never disappointed by the food and service at this wonderful restaurant.
The food and service were Very poor. First you walk up to the host stand and know one is there finally the “host” came over to seat us. He acted like he was doing people a favor to seat them. Next the server. She rushes through everything even though few people were dining in the restaurant. I ordered fried oysters. I was brought a sandwich with oysters in it. My spouse ordered spicy tuna roll which was way to spicy. The oysters were not hot but just barely warm. I question the freshness of the food. Never asked how we liked the food or if we wanted anything else or even desert. I noticed the same type of service was being given to another patron. I won’t make excuses for restaurants especially in Las Vegas. It’s a tough business so if you want to be in it step up to the plate as we have no shortage of great restaurants in Clark County. Also the menu you see on open table is very abbreviated for lunch. We won’t ever return nor would I recommend eating here.
We have been going there for years but will never return. Management needs a complete overhaul. The quality is not at all in line with the prices. Trout was ok but smothered in sauce. Trinity rice had no flavor. Etouffe was horrible. And the wine list was pathetic. Only one Chardonnay on the menu. Waitress was the only positive part of the experience. Stations - your “we love locals” campaign is laughable.
The food was great! But the service was SOOOOOOOOOO slow:(
As always, our server Denise was great! Great food & excellent service.
Average at best.
Great service and food . Pricing was perfect. Will eat there again
Good Bouillabaisse the best I have had in a while.
From the service to the food a disappointment! Wanted to try something new and this was on our list! Service here needs a lot of work! Our server Lisa seemed like she wanted to get rid of us asap! Even walked away as im asking for more sake! What a shame! We had a dozen oysters great! We had VGK sushi it was ok sweet thai chili sauce was too much! That's all you tasted! Then we did the steamed mussels it was a bit salty! We also had the etoufee which was ok had better! Despite the food being ok service needs lots of work! Service is a skill hospitality is a spirit!
Very happy with service and food.
Denise was our waitress and she was great. Fish and chips were very good and clam chowder was good as always.
They sent out a coupon and then we couldn’t use it on Valentine’s Day made us feel cheap for someone that goes there every other month
The food was substandard for the price. We thought we would try a new place. Would not recommend this restaurant. The service was good can’t complain about that,
Server wasnt friendly. Had to send back one of the entrees because it was cold and too salty. Very overpriced for limited selections and small portions. Will not return.
Denise was our server and she is great. The salads are enough for 2.
Was seated promptly when we arrived. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Atmosphere was comfortable and the food was served in a reasonable wait time.
Food was excellent and so was the service. Reasonably priced. Just thought the atmosphere was rather blah. But we would go again. Clam chowder and shrimp cocktail were the best. Steamed mussels were great too. Everything that the four of us ate was excellent.
Never disappointed by this excellent restaurant. Great food & service at a very fair price.
Menu on Open Table isn’t the same for GVR location and that’s how I made my dining decision on this special day. We went for steak and lobster but ended up with sushi! If they have steak, it’s not on the menu so I guess you need to ask them “what else is available?” Annoying! Hope this review helps you. Had I spent more time reading previous reviews, I would’ve chose a different restaurant! I love sushi and it was quality but very disappointed!
Yesterday’s evening meal was not our first at Tides. But you really need to know which items to order or you might be disappointed. The Paradise sushi was so delicious we ordered another serving. The clam chowder is good but quite thick and rich so if you prefer a thinner “soup,” this is not for you. My fresh trout was horrible and very fishy tasting. The green beans were also inedible and tasted like a dirty grill or cooked next to something that was smoking. One of the cooks stopped at our table to see how we liked the food. When I said the trout was terribly fishy, he walked away. We were shocked at this lack of customer service and attentiveness. We might go back again but only for the Paradise sushi.
Good food at a fair price. We came for Mediterranean salmon and it was no longer on the menu. Guess what they made it for us anyway and it was better than we remembered.
Consistently great seafood at reasonable prices. A little noisy when they have
large tables of families with kids.
Waitress friendly but absent minded. May be it was a busy night. Ordered appetizer which never came so had to cancel after soup and salad and half way through main meal. Had to request water refill from 2 different servers before it happened. Food quality was above average.
