To truly celebrate the spirit of New Orleans
The food is great, shrimp caesar salad is amazing. Excellent and fast service. Great price, definitely worth every penny.
Service was very slow. The clam chowder was ok but the gumbo tasted horrible. We had to send it back and left without eating dinner.
The food was great and reasonably priced. Our server did a good job even though see was over worked.
Was glad to see Denise working. So we asked to be seated at her table. There was 3 of us and we all enjoyed our dinner. Disappointedthat no longer can come at 3pm for late lunch\early dinner and get 1/2 price points.
We were disappointed when we found the restaurant is no longer open for lunch🧐
That being said, the food is still good. I had the shrimp scampi. It was well seasoned. Once again, the grated cheese jar was over filled and I almost dumped too much onto the plate.🤣 My wife loves the clam chowder.
It was terrible
I wish they were still open for lunch, but I can live with it. The meal and service were excellent, as always. Today was the busiest I have seen the place in a while.
Jambalaya was excellent. So was the service.
Tue & Thu are half-off sushi, so order a soup to accompany their great bread to "tide" you over until the sushi arrives. Yummy all around.
We were Disappointed that the hours have changed and Tides is no longer open for Lunch. The menu is the same, and always delicious
The restaurant is open air on the casino floor, so we had cigarette smoke wafting in as we were trying to eat. There were 2 waitresses for the entire restaurant so service was slow and sporadic. As for the food, it wasn’t good or worth the price. The charbroiled oysters were not made correctly (mushy), the lump crab meat cocktail had a lot of crab but not much flavor, the New England clam chowder had large bay leaves in it and a congealed surface, and the cheesecake was commissary Costco style with a red gelatinous sauce over it. We were celebrating, so we would have chosen someplace else of we had known this was what the experience would be like.
Great service and food!
We frequent Tides for lunch and/or dinner. Recently, I notice the quality of their food has been going south. Some of our favorite waitresses have been laid off but luckily some are still around. They need to pick up and get back on their feet soon before long to survive.
just something to note, they changed their hours on 7/15/2019. they open at 4pm now. no more lunch.
Their New Orleans gumbo was mediocre at best. The waitress was friendly though and said other people had mentioned the same things about it that i had, and she gave me the menu to try something else instead.
I then got the shrimp tacos instead, but just like the gumbo; they were mediocre at best.
My wife ordered the shrimp scampi and enjoyed it. We also shared the char-broiled oysters, which were definitely the best tasting food that we had. However $18 for SIX oysters, is a bit pricey.
Overall feel of the restaurant was really nice, our waiters was very nice, but the food was definitely a disappointment.
Food & Service was very good. Not happy about them closing Tides. We love this place. How can they close such a great place that is usually busy! Doesn’t make sense.
Been coming here a while and usually enjoy it. On Sat., had reservations, seated quickly, and waited and waited! Our waitress never addressed us and bus boy threw a cold bread basket with few pieces of bread on table. No water or drink requests! Waitress kept coming by, but no acknowledgement. Finally , another waitress (Denise) was flagged down and she helped us quickly! She was apologetic for poor service, and the place wasn’t busy. The food was not up to par ( my raw clams smelled terribly, sent some back). Although Denise was great, no discount on food was offered. This is the second time in a row we’ve experienced poor service here by other waitresses. If this keeps up, Tides will be closing. I noticed other patrons were experiencing the slow service and were complaining as well. Seems the cook is also the manager? Odd, isn’t it ??
The fish was fairly fresh and had pretty good taste. The ginger was awful and inedible. The service was very good and the price was certainly acceptable
Decent food, but slow service. Our server, Star, seemed like she had never done this job before. She didn't utilize a tray, forcing herself to make two trips to deliver items which could have been brought together. She also didn't follow up well, never offering a refill of my wife's lemonade which was finished halfway through our meal, and not asking me if I wanted a second alcoholic drink
When she stopped at the table next to ours, she neglected to check on us, which 99% of experienced servers would have done.
The poor service at Tides will result in our choosing other restaurants in the near future when we have a desire for seafood and shellfish.
Tuesdays are 1/2 off sushi rolls! Their sourdough w/butter keeps me coming back. They split our large soup of half red and half white of their chowders, no fighting amongst us. Great service.
We enjoyed the raw oysters very much and the dinners we had were very good, we will be back.
Denise is a great server. Food was great.
2 of 4 dinners were incorrectly made so minus points from two of us. Either the server just didn’t pay attention or she didn’t understand us. Disappointed that a request for a chicken Caesar salad with a balsamic dressing on the side turned up with no Parmesan and large bottles of oil and vinegar. The chicken was charred a bit so it was dry and had a burnt taste. An order of mild to medium heat cioppino hold the mussels was brought with mussels. When brought back there was a completely different broth with no seasoning at all.
I’m not a seafood person but my husband is and I do like to dine where he can have it. He was happy with his cioppino as with our friend who had a seafood dish too. So the restaurant gets points for their meals.
We always enjoy going to Tides. The food is great for the price we pay and the service is excellent.
The place was empty,but service s l o w
Been here many times but were constantly looking for server for drinks, etc. have never been there that long.
Have you ever eaten Oysters with chopsticks? They have No Oysters forks, according to the waitress. Our food was very good but our waitress was a "clown" - she had on so much makeup she actually looked scary and her accent was so bad, she had to write out something on a cocktail napkin because we could not understand her. To make matters worse, she constantly interrupted my husband when he was asking about ingredients in an item. We left there very discouraged and were sorry we went there for Mothers Day.
In all fairness, we did call the restaurant the next day and spoke with Chef Robert.k While he wasn't aware of the oyster fork issue, the other issues we spoke to him about he was well aware of them. At his request, we will be returning too the restaurant in the near future. I am sure our experience will be much better and we look forward to it. This restaurant is not far from our home and we would like to be able to come here with confidence that not only will the food be good but other issues will be come up.
Food not as good as in the past and server was awful. Rushing us to order and cold as ice. Maybe she was upset to be working on Mother’s Day but that shouldn’t be our problem. Very disappointed
Love your Pan Roast. I was disappointed that the soft bread sticks were only temporary. Wish they would serve a soft roll rather than the hard crusted bread which is hard to bite into. Please bring back the soft bread sticks!
As always, our server Denise was great and very efficient.
Susan's Gumbo was delicious and plentiful enough that she brought home a leftover. I had the soup and sandwich. The chowder was the best I've had in a long time. The crab cake po-boy was okay. The problem was the crab cake was too fat for the bread and it made it hard to bite. The cake itself had a bit too much mayo but tasted fine!
This is a great seafood/sushi place with a great vibe and atmosphere.
Everything was good but our service was almost non existent. We received our food and never saw our waitress again. She didn’t even check to see if we needed anything. Our drinks were dry and we wanted to order another sushi roll. We were there an hour and a half. We shared two rolls and an order of shrimp tacos. The food was good, but service not so much.
My favorite dish is the sashimi which, in the past, I have enjoyed with a bowl of HOT rice. While TIDES serves rice, it is with sushi, not as a side dish. The restaurant used to have a microwave so that the rice I ordered could be heated up, but I have been told that the microwave has been removed. As a result, the rice is now being served at room temperature which is not desirable or the way it is traditionally served with sashimi. I would love for TIDES to either served steamed hot rice or bring back the microwave. Other than that, we love this restaurant. Thank you.
OK for a meal, was average compared to other Casino Restaurants available.
the food is still great, and we keep going back. it's a little pricey, but as long as i get good high-quality food, i'm ok with paying a little more. much better than the alternative, which is paying good money for bad food.
there are very few good seafood restaurants around, so i'm hoping these guys stay around for a long while.
Food is good, service is a bit slow and then takes too long to pay...but if your not in a hurry enjoy. Also bring a sweater very cold in the dining area
Love the seafood!! Great menu with a good selection
Sea food which was pricey was over cooked and dry. Waitress ignored us. We had to ask for everything I.e bread basket and water refills. She told us the bread was still in the oven on two occasions despite I saw three different customers get bread that came after us including the table next to us which got a second basket. We are local resident and go to GVR frequently. We will never go to Tides again. Very dissapointed
We had the Blue Point oysters for lunch. They were very fresh but not full of flavor. Bland is best description. I have always loved Tides and GV Resort but they were off their game this time. We sat at the counter and the two ladies who waited on us seemed not unfriendly, but just disinterested. No friendly smile, suggestions or even any apparent interest in what we would like to eat. I will be back, but only because I think Tides must have been having an off day.
I haven't been here for a few months, so this was a very welcome visit. The food and service were great. It's tough to get really good seafood, and Tides is always great.
