To truly celebrate the spirit of New Orleans
We used to love this place and have been going here for many years but it does not have the same quality of food as in the past. Last night we sat at the bar and watched the chefs and discovered what we believe to be the issue. The cuisine at the Oyster Bar at Sunset Station is far superior because the chefs have passion for what they do. The two cooks we witnessed last night do not. They have some of the same recipes as their sister Henderson property (for example - Manhattan chowder and etouffee) but they are nowhere close in flavor and substance. My husband had the fish and chips and I will say that those were the best I have tasted in a long time. I had sushi because I was tired of being disappointed by other dishes. I asked for “light/easy rice” on the spicy tuna roll ordered but apparently the chef did not agree with my request. Customer service should equate to - give the customer what they want. The topper was when we witnesses a bowl of etouffee being presented by one of the chefs to a waitress for delivery, with liquid dripping over the sides of the bowl. For those prices - pathetic. Stations - step up and get your act together.
Would be nice if the carts they drag around by sports bar had quieter wheels extremely noise.
Took 45 minutes to get two of our three person's food in a restaurant that was over half empty. The other person got their food in ten minutes. Had to chase the waitress down to get a check. If it hadn't been Thanksgiving, I wouldn't have left a tip. My other tip is don't eat here!
The service was very disappointing, we brought company from out of town for dinner. We were served our dinner 30 minutes earlier than the other 3 members of our family. It wasn’t a good dinning experience. The waitress just acted like it was normal for this to happen.
I love the pan roast-it’s my favorite. If there’s anything I could change, it’d be the bread. The crust is so hard that it’s difficult to eat. I’d much prefer a softer warm roll.
Cippinio was fabulous, crab cakes and the service was great, best experience I’ve had there in awhile
Everything was wonderful, as usual. However, we are disappointed that Tides is no longer open for lunch. It wasn't open for lunch when we were there in September 2019 either.
We don't understand why Tides wouldn't be open for lunch any longer, as they were always busy for lunch as well as dinner.
this is still one of the only places around where you can get really good fish, without having to pay in body parts like arms and legs. aside from the overall quality of the seafood, the consistency is important as well. a lot of restaurants are good one day and not so good the next. these guys are good all the time.
The sashimi was of amazing good quality. Mussels were perfectly cooked plump and tasty, good size portion. Here is the but. Wow service was terrible. Our server maybe could have cut it at Denny’s but when you spend on a nice dinner you should be served by a competent wait staff. This person was just not with the program. It could be they were short staffed as the hostess was busing tables. Unfortunate as the food was good. I told my wife, when we sat there 20 minutes b4 being acknowledged, this may not go real well. I was right.
Always fresh and consistent, wonderful service every time
Love their sushi. Service is always good.
Not good, not bad. Very average.
So we had the crab cake appetizers which were delicious. We recommend the Chippino with the rice. First time ever trying shrimp tacos very yummy. Ser er was extremely knowledgeable and fast service. Definitely a go back.
This is a restaurant that has good food, but a very limited menu. I wish they had a more extensive sushi menu. The food is fresh and the raw bar is a real treat.
We were delighted to see Denise our server back again. It was sad to see Tides has been going downhill for some time. They need better management.
At first we had a wobbly table. The hostess didn’t do anything. We asked the busser if we could move & then everything was great. Food & service are always great.
Have been going to Tides for over 10 years now. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Will go back again soon.
Not my favorite fish place.
Food and service, great as always when we have Denise.
Food was great as usual. Food was great as usual. Food was great as usual.
Took a friend from out of town to Tides. Raved about the great bread crisps-only to find that that item has been discontinued! Noise level was to high to have any meaningful conversation. Enjoyed the sashimi
My husband and I went to celebrate our birthdays. We had drinks and appetizers. The hot calamari dish was delicious and unusual; a great choice. We were not as happy with the soft shell crab dish which was breaded too much for our liking. Our last choice was the little neck clams appetizer that was absolutely delicious. All in all it was the perfect amount of food, although we did take some calamari home. For the amount of patrons, there was inadequate wait staff.
Although service was prompt and friendly, food was mediocre at best. Oysters were not flavorful, calamari was mostly breaded. The fish used in the tacos was not good. Hopefully this was just a bad night, but meal was not worth the price
We love the Oyster Bar at the Palace Station and this didn't even compare. The service was terrible also.
This restaurant has gone down hill. The prices have gone up but the quality' has dropped. We used to come here regularly. But this last time may be our last time to visit. Sorry.
Ambiance is very poor better described as "blah." Food was marginal. Service was average at best.
The restaurant is in a casino so there is considerable noise which I expected. The restaurant is very under staffed and if you are in an area which has a larger table the server never gets caught up. We ordered appetizers and the service was okay but still on the slow side. You could see the frustration on the servers face as she struggled to keep up. The food is average at best.
Very noisy and service was more like a cafeteria. But the swordfish & salmon we had was excellently prepared and a sizable portion. The green beans & asparagus sides were also prepared properly - that is, not cooked to death like so many restaurants. We were there on a Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and it was mostly too loud to hold much of a conversation - even the short distance across a table. We might go back on a Tuesday or Wednesday when it, presumably, won't be so busy and hopefully not so noisy.
This is a coffee shop that serves sushi. Enough said.
Love this spot, but very disappointed that they are no longer open for lunch!
The food is great, shrimp caesar salad is amazing. Excellent and fast service. Great price, definitely worth every penny.
Service was very slow. The clam chowder was ok but the gumbo tasted horrible. We had to send it back and left without eating dinner.
The food was great and reasonably priced. Our server did a good job even though see was over worked.
Was glad to see Denise working. So we asked to be seated at her table. There was 3 of us and we all enjoyed our dinner. Disappointedthat no longer can come at 3pm for late lunch\early dinner and get 1/2 price points.
We were disappointed when we found the restaurant is no longer open for lunch🧐
That being said, the food is still good. I had the shrimp scampi. It was well seasoned. Once again, the grated cheese jar was over filled and I almost dumped too much onto the plate.🤣 My wife loves the clam chowder.
It was terrible
I wish they were still open for lunch, but I can live with it. The meal and service were excellent, as always. Today was the busiest I have seen the place in a while.
Jambalaya was excellent. So was the service.
Tue & Thu are half-off sushi, so order a soup to accompany their great bread to "tide" you over until the sushi arrives. Yummy all around.
