Tidepools - Grand Hyatt Kauai
Awesome honeymoon dinner
Very disappointed and don’t recommend. The food was mediocre at its best. My deep fried Thai red snapper was very dry and the other dishes were meh. It was incredibly expensive and not worth the price. There are other much better restaurants on the island for this price point. It is a shame since it is a beautiful atmosphere. We won’t return.
Wonderful ambience with fresh food choices and excellent wait staff. A must do when in the area!
Amazing service by Marta. If you want fantastic service, you must ask for her!!! She made my birthday dinner beyond special. She was attentive, warm, kind & just provided us with professional service overall! The food was amazing & the ambience was fantastic. Highly recommend! Been staying at the Hyatt for a week & haven’t had a single glitch with this entire hotel & staff. Marta stood out to be one of the best servers I have experienced. She has set the bar pretty high.
We ate at Tidepools recently for a birthday celebration. The food and service were amazing! Beautiful restaurant at the Grand Hyatt. It is pricey, but the food was worth it.
Our waiter, Les, gave us phenomenal service!! Our favorite restaurant in Kauai. We have had many memories celebrated at Tidepools.
Loved the Mahi Mahi! Loved the soup! Yum!!
We have stayed at the Grand Hyatt many times over the years and always eat at least twice at Tidepools. The atmosphere and view is not to be missed! The service in the restaurant is excellent. At the bar, however, the staff are very aloof and inattentive. Not on par with the rest of the experience at all.
Loved it so much!!
Outstanding dining experience that left us wanting more! Must have the coconut soup! We were extremely impressed with this chef and his vision.
Very good experience. Beautiful atmosphere. Manager Christen was wonderful and accommodating.
Great food and so beautiful!
Ambience was amazing. Our food came out within minutes of ordering g and the crabmeat on top of fish was cold. Server was very busy so we did not send back.
Overall, we were pleased with our dining experience. Most significant problem was the food, though very good, it wasn’t very memorable. In fact, the next day we struggled to recall what we had ordered. We started the meal with scallops which were delicious. For our main courses we had mahi mahi and opah. They were prepared well and flavored well, but not outstanding.
For the price, the meal was on par for the location. The views were beautiful. The ambiance nice.
We chose the restaurant for our 18th wedding anniversary. It wasn’t disappointing but wasn’t sensational either. We’d recommend Tidepools to others if for nothing else the ambiance and views which balance the less stellar aspects of the meal.
Everything was great, except they charged my debit card twice. The first was the total of our bill, the second transaction was the bill with the tip included. When I called to inquire they stated it’s a hold and I would receive my money back in 5 days. I’ve never had this experience before at a restaurant.
Food was good, but not excellent. A little pricey for what you get. We were seated near the koi pond and the fish were fun to watch. Hotel is beautiful.
Wow! The most beautiful property in Kauai! We are going back just to stay here! Restaurant was amazing from food, service and drinks! Desserts were amazing! Steaks were slightly over cooked but did not matter!
We went here to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and as in typical Hyatt form, Tidepools overachieved in making it a special night. The atmosphere and scenery in the open air restaurant was perfect. The service was exceptional and the food was just outstanding. Yes, it is a hit to the wallet, but we’ll worth it for that special occasion!
The food was eh. Nothing great, especially after eating at the beach house the night before. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and my husband got the hawiian catch sword fish. The chicken tasted like it was microwaved without any salt or pepper, and the swordfish did not have a lot of flavor as well. Very basic. The service was great, but food was overrated.
Delicious cuisine in a breathtaking setting...I highly recommend Tidepools.
Les is the best waiter we have ever had in our entire lives. Highly recommend. Outstanding, especially for a hotel restaurant. Delicious.
Great food! Great atmosphere!
20th wedding anniversary dinner. Best ever service, food, ambience, a memorable occasion for all the right reasons.
Wilma was awesome!
This was our second time eating here and it was excellent. The food was outstanding but what really made our dinner special was our server Les. He took his time explaining almost every dish on the menu to us and went over the top helping us select a wine. This was a real special dinner for sure.
We were disappointed with our meal here last night. The crab cakes that are supposed to be amazing, per the waiter, were completely flavorless. The Macadamia Mahi Mahi lacked flavor as well. The chocolate Lava Cake was average. We would not recommend going there. Red Salt is the best restaurant in the island. Beach House is another option.
Great ambience but terrible food. I made arrangements for their best table and while the setting was beautiful, the food was not worth the money at all. We spent $700 on dinner but I did not eat a single thing that was remotely tasty.
Beautiful setting for our 35th Anniversary 🌺. The food was outstanding👍 We highly recommend this restaurant 💕
Tide Pools is a lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and the cocktails were yummy. The Grand Hyatt was a beautiful resort. Go early for your reservation and walk the grounds for a bit. Simply stunning.
The atmosphere here is beautiful. The food was good but not great. The service was good but not at the level expected for fine dining.
We booked this restaurant for our 15th anniversary and were very excited about dining here after reading the reviews. While the restaurant itself was fine and the food was fine, based on what we had read beforehand, we expected better for the money we spent. Would much rather dine at other places on the island.
Les was an amazing server who helped my wife and I go out of our comfort zone and try new fish dishes when we weren't previously fish lovers. I had the opah and my wife had the mahi mahi. The only reason we were able to make these choices was because Les went through each choice one by one explaining what each dish consisted of and what he thought we would like. On top of the service and food, the view as amazing with the ponds surrounding the restaurant and with the ocean and beautiful palm trees in the background.
A great dining experience with wonderful service, food and the view is amazing.
Aside from fairfood quality (except fpr exceptional dessert),very romatic atmosphere.
Honeymoon, although they offered us nothing for the occasion despite my notes
What a beautiful restaurant. Food and service was top of the line. Doesn’t seem like there is a wrong choice on the menu. Everything we had was delicious. The pork belly app was incredible and the chicken was so flavorful. We were so full but couldn’t skip dessert. Chocolate cake and malasadas were delightful. Rob our waiter was great too.
Ambience is excellent. Food is high grade dog food. Good thing there is a huge koi pond to dispose of your tasteless food next to tour table. Those fish are hungry.
Everything was perfect for our 50th anniversary dinner. The service, food and ambience make this a special place for a romantic occasion.
Not out first visit here. The dinner did not disappoint. Filet was cooked perfectly. Sides were yummy. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We have never had a bad experience at Tidepools.
