Incredible experience - amazing atmosphere and food was incredible. Service was great. Highly recommend!
We dined at tide pools during our honeymoon! It was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted by first names - like they already knew us just by looking at the reservations - our server, Ron was the best server we’ve had in…. Forever. They don’t make them like him! Last, but certainly not least - the food and ambiance was just divine. If we didn’t live 12 hours (flight) away, we would make this place happen all the time!
Honeymoon dinner, so good we left feeling very full with two appetizers and a meal each!
Perfect birthday dinner for my daughter!
Great food, excellent service and a complimentary honeymoon dessert. Great place.
Food was absolutely delicious- best we’ve had in Poipu. Service was matching of the food. I would highly recommend anyone visit. The only tough part is that they are hard to get in to for reservations.
Food was good, but not spectacular (recommend Hawaiian Catch - lobster, ahi, shrimp, scallop)
Service was very good
Overall a nice experience, would go again
This was our third or fourth visit to tide pools and probably our last. Menu seems a bit limited. Food was fine, but not fabulous. We’ve had better meals at other places in Poipu. I wish they would add some new items to their menu.
We come every year for our anniversary. Always amazing!
Out of bubbles we wanted and out of ahi that was on the menu. The steak was not as good as I expected. The potatoes were good though.
Tidepools was wonderful again! We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. Waiter was very attentive and water glasses were kept full. We had our son and his 2 friends with us (all 18) and they were blown away by their meals. The filet was fork tender and the Opah and Ono dishes were delicious. Empty plates all around. Always one of our favorite restaurants whenever we’re on the island.
A truly beautiful venue.. Cocktails , wine and service were outstanding. My mani mahi-mahi was a bit overcooked although my wife's was perfect. Would highly recommend.
Nice atmosphere, food was not as good as we remembered, waiter was great the Restraunt is understaffed, and our waiter had to help out in a large party.
Amazing! We brought our kids, 8 and 10, and even they loved it! Expensive, but worth every penny. I had the mahi mahi, my husband the Hawaiian catch and the kids filet mignon and kids Mac and cheese. All perfectly cooked and worth the higher price tag. Our friendly and very knows server brought my chocolate loving son a molten cake with ice cream at the end as a surprise. The ambience and koi pond made the experience special for my kids too! Loved it!
Great restaurant in Kauai
My wife and I had a great dinner for her birthday. The staff as a whole was great and very attentive. Creating a great dining experience
Reservation for 8:15, seated promptly in a corner table, that at this point in the evening you didn't get to enjoy any of the ambiance offered by most other tables at the front of the restaurant. Food was mostly well prepared, but towards the end of our main courses, the floor staff started clearing the tables around us, dragging them and the chairs across the dining room so they could start their cleanup. The dinner was significantly marred by what is a really amateur move by the restaurant: noise from this impacted our ability to converse and added the feeling we were being rushed out. When you are spending $100+ per person for dinner the service really needs to match and the team here really came up short.
This restaurant was beautiful and the food was extraordinary!! But what made this experience was our server. Les was accommodating and friendly. He helped sort out two picky kids and two pickier adults a meal that was delicious and beautiful!! The filet and Opah were outstanding and don’t leave out the lava cake.
First time here. The food was amazing. I had the Opah, very generous portion. My husband had the mixed seafood entree, also excellent. My kids enjoyed the keiki menu. Ambiance was great, koi pond right outside our table. Excellent service. We are going back later this week.
We enjoyed an amazing meal at Tidepools. We were seated by the window overlooking the Koi Pond. Mixed drinks were tasty-we enjoyed the gin martini and raspberry vodka lemonade. We started with the ribs and crab dynamite. Both were superb. Our children had the filet-and both commented it was the best they had ever had. My husband and I had the Hawaiian catch. Everything was excellent. We finished with the lava cake and donuts (zeppoles) with 3 dipping sauces. Our waiter Juan was the best-he was friendly and personable. It was definitely expensive but we felt like the food and experience was well worth it!
Excellent cuisine, fantastic service. Robert was an amazing waiter. We had a great time and enjoyed the food immensely.
A fabulous spot for top notch food, service and ambiance. The last 2 times I’ve dined there I been lucky to have Les as my server. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure. Drinks and food came out very quickly despite the restaurant being full. You can’t beat the view.
Outstanding overall dining experience!
Beautiful surroundings… amazing food.. highly recommend!!
Les was a fantastic server! The food was outstanding, I especially loved the forbidden rice! Excellent wine choices which are outstanding values on the island. It is a must for every visitor and a favorite of locals. Mahalo, Les. You brought a wonderful experience to the next level!
I get what they’re trying to accomplish with this restaurant. The ambient uplighting paired nicely with the soft jazz and surrounding tiki torches creates the expected vibe of a fine dining experience at the luxurious Grand Hyatt Kauai. Unfortunately, the portions and the overall quality and impression that I got with this restaurant was not completely positive. I felt extremely ripped off upon exiting the restaurant, with slow service and the food being nothing special. I will not return.
Great wait staff and excellent food. Especially fish!
Everything about this dinner exceeded our expectations, from the beautiful table location, to the quality of the drinks, to the presentation and taste of our meal. To top it off, our server, Les, was quite a character and made for a memorable experience.
Nice place with new food. Our server was good
But a couple of problems
We checked in for our reservation and they forgot about us. I went to check is our table was ready yet— after waiting a while and was then told— oh your table is ready 😐
Please turn down the damn main light in the dining room. Ruins what is a beautiful setting
Food was fine— not outstanding. Drinks were meh compared to others in the neighborhood
Great dinner at Tidepools. The setting and ambiance are perfect Hawaiian. Our food was the best we had in Kauai. Our server Les was great - explained all the entrees perfectly and was very attentive. We will definitely come back.
We have been there multiple times and the food, service and ambiance never disappoints us! Another amazing evening!!
The food was delicious! Love this Hotel and Tidepools Restaurant!
Hands down one of if not THE BEST restaurant on Kauai. Everything as prepared to perfection and service from Juan our waiter was equally as perfect.
We started with the Lobster Dynamite, Stevenson’s Hamachi Sashimi and The Island Style Poke and finished with pictured entrees and of course their amazing Malasadas!!
This is our 2nd trip to Kauai and Tidepools, this time for our granddaughter’s 13th birthday. Last visit we ate at Tidepools 2X, we plan to visit again on our last evening on Kauai.
lobster dynamite appetizer,
Our daughter was married on Shipwreck Beach and we had dinner at Tidepools. They made a beautiful cake for her and the dinner was delicious. Of course the ambiance was absolutely stunning. The service was outstanding.
I definite must do in Kauai…….
Service was outstanding and on point.
Another unforgettable experience Hyatt !
Hyatt Hotel restaurant. Huge complex, Disneyland like. Feels like they are cooking for crowds so dishes didn’t feel personalized. Felt like they came off a conveyor belt. Macadamia crusted mahi-mahi was actuality Ono, was overcooked and dry. Poke was very good. Fresh garden salad was excellent. Not worthy of all the hype.
Absolutely wonderful dinner. Our server, Juan, made our evening spectacular. Food was delicious!
Good is just alright.. not to die for
From the moment we walked in we were impressed. The energy from the staff was electric. Greeter, server, waiter and bus boys were amazing. The food and wine were great. The best thing on the menu was the crab and ahi dynamite!
