Tidepools - Grand Hyatt Kauai
Excellent food and Service. Amazing Place. Make sure you get the Ceviche and the Ribeye with a Lobster Tail! Gary is an awesome waiter’
Seated us next to a table of 8 noisy pole. Bad decision
Wonderful setting surrounded by a pond with an outdoor atmosphere. Food was amazing and service perfect.
By far the best meal we've had this trip (we've been to red salt, breneckes, donderos, dukes). Always a bit skeptical of resort restaurants, but this one is great. Waitstaff were professional and welcoming. Ambiance was great - tables are nicely spaced out, so you get the social experience of a restaurant with privacy. Food was great. Had ceviche and octopus to start. Both great. Had swordfish, Mahi, and Opakapaka. All were spectacular. Slightly more expensive that other places ($42 vs $34 for an entree), but well worth it. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful meal! Prime rib was so tasty and my husband says he had the best fish meal ever! He had Opa with crab with habanero sauce. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they presented him with a chocolate soufflé that was delicious for dessert. Ambiance super and service was great!!
My waiter suggested a wine that was not what I asked for at all and when I said I didn’t like it took away the full glass but still charged me. The food was gross and actually made me and my sister sick for 24 hours. $330 dinner was absolutely not worth it. The atmosphere was the only thing good about the place! Skip it!
Great Oprah, terrific service, lovely venue; what more could you want?!?
Everything was amazing! Wilma was a great server assisted by Wendell, both are so personable and kind. I cannot wait to come again! Thank you Tidepools for being a highlight on my trip to Kauai!
Beautiful setting. Amazing food. Excellent service. We were last here 10 years ago-we loved it and had to return- menu was unique and the fish we had was exceptional. Service was top notch. It is not inexpensive, but it is worth it!
Very good experience. Service is outstanding! Food is delicious. I’d go back again!!😘😘
Flawless service, stunning setting, spectacular food!
Derek was our server and was on point all evening>> Intuitive, Savvy and knowledgeable. Would recommend this place for a romantic dinner for ANYONE. The location is quintessential Hawaii, and the cuisine was memorable.
Had a great dinner and service on our vacation foils highly recommend
Lovely, romantic location near the ocean, surrounded by a koi pond. The food was excellent - don't pass up the complementary dinner rolls! Staff was friendly and attentive while allowing privacy.
Dinner, service ambiance were outstanding. Such a beautiful setting and outstanding food.
For the appetizer I had the roasted octopus very good but only two small tentacles, girl friend had the spiced pear foie gras(2 slices of pear on duck liver) and we had chicken for the main, ok but not the best.
Already have suggested friends eat at Tidepools. We felt like we had the place to ourselves, even though most tables were filled. We should have stopped by early and had cocktails, but did not know about their cozy bar. Nonetheless, we had good wine and very good food. It was my birthday so they brought us a complementary dessert plate - delicious way to end our steak and chicken dinner. Very friendly and not overbearing waitstaff. We will return - no question.

I went there for the first time in 1997 and it was fabulous then and it is still fabulous now. It was nice to come back and enjoy a lovely evening in the perfect setting with delicious food to toast the day.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Was a little windy on the night we were there so bring a jacket as some tables are outside.
Got the table we wanted and everything was great. Food and service both great. I had prime rib with shrimp and wife had ahi. Lava cake for dessert. What’s not to like!
Our meals were delicious but what really made this dinner experience so wonderful was our server Les. He was knowledgeable, attentive and funny.
I was unprepared for how chilly it was in the restaurant because the photo made it seem like there were walls all around the restaurant instead of an open air breeze. Food was delicious
The ambiance is very nice along with the wait staff, the food selections were good and the food and drinks were great; a nice wine list too.
Very beautiful setting, perfect for any celebration. Food was very good, a little pricey, but your paying for the whole experience.
Very nice good food
Les was such an amazing waiter. If you can sit with him you should! Food was incredible! Location amazing!
I love Tidepools, it never disappoints. The Hawaiian Catch and Spiced Opah are personal favorites.
Family birthday celebration
Our second time at Tidepools and a great atmosphere. Food is good but I wouldn’t say unique but their service was good. Only warning is if it is a cold or windy night remember it is somewhat outdoors with open passageways so bring your jacket to stay warm!
Probably the best place we dined out at in Kauai. Very good food in a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Delicious food, exceptional service. Pure delight for our last night on Kauai! Derek gave us 5 star service.
You might need to take out a loan. 1-10 I give Tidepools a 9-. Best ambiance of any restaurant I have ever been to. The food was pretty great (9-). Good salad, great prime rib. I didn't like my dessert as much. The only negative is it is expensive. My wife and I only drank H20. We each had a salad, main entree, and dessert and it came to about $188, which this included a 20% tip that we decided to give. It is very Romantic, though.
Amazing service. Food was delicious. Lovely setting. I had thought it was both ocean front and we would see the sunset. It was neither. We were by water but not the ocean. Just so others know.
Received a lovely dessert as we were celebrating our first date many years ago. This was very thoughtful.
Service and ambiance were great however I’d expect much better food for the price. Everything was over cooked and dry including octopus app, and chicken & mahi mahi entrees.
Fabulous atmosphere! Great service! I even got a birthday candle in my dessert. We were seated next to a waterfall and watched the fish in the pond. The coconut soup was delicious. However, I asked for medium well prime rib and it was pretty raw. Only ate a few bites and took the rest home to cook to my liking. Had the chocolate lava cake for dessert and it was delicious.
By far the best dining experience of our trip!
Always delighted to eat here. Been coming to Tide pools since the Hyatt reopened after Hurricane Iniki. The architecture of the builing, the bringing the outside indoors, the koi pons, the setting are all memorable. The service is consistently terrific and food flavorful with local ingredients, beautifully presented and sumptuous. Go! Delight!
Such a wonderful experience!
Fantastic! Les was pleasant and his suggestions were spot on.
Samantha could not be welcoming and real
Tidepools is now one of our favorites
The perfect place for a special birthday dinner. It was fabulous from the moment we walked in until we left. We accidentally left a credit card on our table and we were immediately called and told to return to the hostess station where they had the card. Mahalo
Our dinner was a very nice romantic experience. We both had the hawaii special with lobster tail, fresh ono, scallop, shrimp towered on purple sweet potato and brocolirabi.Delicious and perfectly cooked. Not a huge portion but very adequate. Was served very quickly. Our waitress was an older woman and very charming. As we were celebrating our anniversary she brought us a free molten chocolate dessert .Very nice gesture on behalf of Tidepools.
