Disappointing, expensive dinner. The flavors of the food didn’t taste good. Do not get the $40 bland tuna with mushrooms. You will never want to eat a mushroom again. We regretfully should have just gone to a taco shop, which we know is always good.
Service was so slow, we didn’t get our drinks until the food showed up.
We stayed the night at Paradise Point to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. I took him to Tidal for dinner. I had the salmon and he had the Sea Bass. The food was excellent and our server was very nice/knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Tidal for any meal and occasion!
Made reservations for 6, thinking 1 hour 30 minutes would be enough time before heading to an 8pm concert. We were mistaken, it took 40 minutes to get cheese we ordered as an appetizer, and didn’t receive our meal until an hour after ordering. We had to cancel and leave hungry to the concert since the food didn’t come until 7:30!!!! Staff was unapologetic. Will never return!
This is San Diego restaurant week so we decided to give Tidal a try. The food was excellent. The service was wonderful. I had the vegetarian options which were fantastic given that they were not on the regular menu. The vegetables were crisp and the quinoa was great. My husband had the lobster coconut soup which he loved. The chocolate coconut cream cake was the perfect end to the meal. Rich, decadent and moist. Sitting out on the patio overlooking the bay was fantastic. Would definitely go back.

The food was AMAZING. What a wonderful and unique flavor profile. It reminded us of the offerings we had in Maui. A high end menu with an island twist. Super tasty.
Great for date night, special occasions, etc. You can't miss.
Let me start by saying it was an expensive flop.
The ambiance by the water, overlooking the bay is pretty, but to be honest not memorable.
It is seriously over priced for what is offered. No idea what some raved about ....
They charge you for the bread that's usually offered free in other restaurants of this price point. Must say though the pineapple butter accompanying the bread was delicious.
My halibut entrée was soooo dry (it even tasted a bit burned) that I had to send it back. The waitress graciously took it away & and made sure the replacement scallops I ordered were brought to me quickly. The scallops were good, well seasoned & cooked perfectly, but it was nothing exceptional.
My husband's scallops were plated so badly it looked like someone dropped the sauce but couldn't be bothered to replate !!
The children's meals were $17+ & when we asked if the mashed potato side (for the the chicken) could be replaced with a little pasta, the answer was no, but we could order the buttered pasta for an additional $17. Really ??
We didn't bother staying for dessert as nothing on the menu inspired us.
Overall, if you are a foodie skip this experience. You won't be missing anything.
Wonderful location with a stunning view on the patio. Tasty food, but with extremely small portions for the price. Some of the food seemed increasingly complex.. just for the sake of sounding fancy. That said, we had a nice dining experience - excellent dessert, drinks, and service.
Absolutely loved our 4 course dinner and wine tasting. Andrew Reyes, the chef and our waiter, Daniel were just fantastic, professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and made our dinner so fun and enchanting. We got the most beautiful view of the bay, if not the best seat in the house. The food and wine pairing was awesome and perfect. Our hosts just knew just what to do and say! From the entrance at the door to the end of our meal, our experience was the best I have had in a long time anywhere. Excellent service, great ambiance, and wonderful people you have working at Tidal. So grateful we got to experience such a lovely and delicious meal!
This has been one of our favorites spots to relax and celebrate special occasions for 40 years! My only disappointment as we arrived at Tidal was that as we approached the bar at Tidal.......we found the bartender licking his fingers after refilling condiments, took our order, did not even consider washing his hands and then proceeded to make our drinks!
Well, needless to say, we drank them anyway!! I will say, he was pleasant as well as the rest of the staff.
Ambiance and decor are nice the bartender and waiter were nice too, but other than that I feel it was a miss. I'm not saying it's bad, but there are many other places I'd go before I'd go there again. The portions are way too small and kind've bland. The drinks where good, but happy hour only applies to the bar! We would've ordered many more drinks had the happy hour applied to the whole restaurant and not only limited to the bar.
Sitting outside next to the water was very nice. The food was ok. My fish was cooked nicely unfortunately my dish was too salty and the portions were really small. The waiter was very energetic but interrupting me and my friends get together quite often and didn't stop talking. I am sorry but for the price I payed I expected much better food and a more professional service. Not going there again.
Unfortunately the new menu and food is much worse than previously. This used my go to restaurant in San Diego to recommend, but sadly its been reduced to mediocre at best. Even my favorite cocktail I used to get here, Pimm's Cup, was disappointment and tasted watered down.
I would say our experience was average. We went on a Sunday for brunch to celebrate my birthday. The food was average. My food came out ice cold and by the time I got my breakfast sandwich two of my friends were done with their food. The second sandwich wasn't much better. They were nice and took it off the bill. Our server was great! At the end he got a little annoyed that we wanted it split a few different ways but I have worked in the industry and depending on the system the restaurant uses, that can be time consuming. The great things about this place? The atmosphere is amazing. It is right on the water with a walkout to the beach. There is ample parking in paradise point. The drinks were great! I would maybe go there again just for a drink or two before heading out to the beach. But I wouldn't do a brunch again. Maybe their lunch/dinner menu is better.
The food was great, so was the service and the view. The price was extremely high. we had one cocktail each and shared a glass of wine. Shared a Crab-cake appetizer, enjoyed scallops and halibut entrees. Total $167 before the tip. There was even a 3% surcharge to offset the CA minimum wage. WOW!
Did not stock absolute vodke or Johnnie Walker scotch ??? seemed odd.
Don't think we will go back until they reduce their prices
