Set in what was a private beach house in the 60s, Tidal’s mid-century modern design draws from the era it was built by Hollywood producer Jack Skirball. A fire pit-dotted deck, communal tables, and cozy lounge beckon casual group gatherings and lively conversation — though the 180° views of Mission Bay might just leave you at a loss for words.

Awesome experience, very good food, nice ambience, nice views from the bay. We chose them to celebrate our anniversary and did not regret! We mention that and got a free personalized desert, even without making a big fat order - I am pregnant, my appetite is messed up and I can't drink wine l, so ordered just one appetizer and an entree. I would definitely recommend!
We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a dinner at Tidal. They gave us a wonderful table with a beautiful view of the bay and had heaters running as well.
My wife ordered a Cesar Salad and I ordered Island Style Coconut soup as starters and they were both so refreshing and tasty. Our main course was scallops for me and a wavy burger on a bed of lettuce for my wife. As with the starters, they were perfectly cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Finally, we ordered chocolate coconut cake for dessert. Not only was the cake moist and flavorful, but the even wrote “Happy 25th Anniversary” on the plate in berry purée.
The team at Tidal took care of us from the time we walked in until we left. I can’t thank them enough for topping off a wonderful day.
I had a dinner with my colleagues here for the first time. The restaurant was very beautiful and sever was very kind to explain th wine and food. We had a wonderful time for 2 hours with the delicious food. The stake and sea food were great. Our office is a little far way from the restaurant, but I'll try again with colleagues to visit next time. Thank you for the delicious food and service.
El entorno es muy agradable y único. Cenamos en el salón interior, atendidos por tres camareros. La comida estupenda. Queríamos probar el Tomahauk y no nos decepcionó. Para repetir!!!!
Nice ambiance, good customer service, great place for gathering
This was by far the worst Thanksgiving dinner I have ever had. We've had dinner at Tidal twice before, and loved it. Everything except the service and ambience were sub-par, and the whole event was way overpriced for what was on offer The buffet was not only minimal and meager, it had odd offerings: bagels and lox.. really? There was no cranberry sauce, no sweet potatoes or yams, no pies whatsoever. Thanksgiving without pumpkin or pecan pie? Who planned this Thanksgiving? It was bizarre, and not even the vegetables were well cooked. A total disappointment in every way.
UPDATE: I sent a note to Tidal about our awful experience.... and i NEVER heard back from them. Talk about your bad customer service!
We spent Thanksgiving at Tidal and it was a perfect way to spend the day with family and friends. There was a turkey carving buffet and the sunset was amazing!
Amazing food and the service is great. My fave was the salmon for dinner and the cesar salad with anchovies and picked lotus room is beyond amazing (probably the best cesar salad that both of us ever had). We actually had it twice that day (brunch and dinner). Both my husband and I had the salmon and it was yummy. We were visiting SD for a few days and were staying at Paradise Point and it was like 20 feet from our room. We had brunch and dinner there. Highly highly recommend it. Next time we are in SD we will definitely be going there again.
Great location, outstanding food and service, when in San Diego Diego will return.
Amazing food and excellent service at Tidal. Landon was our server and he went above and beyond to ensure that every part of our meal was perfect. Their entire staff was helpful and welcoming and really helped to make our experience memorable.
Very nice overall
It took a while for our server to find us after we were seated, but she made up for it. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. The octopus appetizer was delicious, tender and flavorful. We ordered the scallops and a mahi-mahi special. The scallops could have been hotter, but the flavor was so good I got over it. The mahi was a bit rare for my taste, but it was very fresh and the foraged mushroom side was fantastic. This is definitely a go-to for special occasions and out-of-town guests.
Ordered two tomahawk steaks and only one was available. Waited over 35 minutes for dinner to be served and both tomahawk steak and pork port House were under cooked
Our waiter was amazing and the food was very good. Our view was so beautiful and they kept us warm by seating us near the heaters.
The beef cheek was amazing! Great service with a view.
Great location and waterfront views. I think they want to testify the high price by the presentation. Everything came out looking terrific. But unfortunately that's where it ends. The food was mediocre at best. We started with a coconut starter that had no flavor other than coconut. We let the salmon that was overcooked and salty. Everything was smothered in a flavorless cream sauce. In addition to the pear salad with giant candied Ginger. Again, it was good for presentation but lousy for eating. We ended up cutting the ginger in about 30 pieces and mixing them into the salad. The salad dressing was tart and really didn't go well with the type of salad. Left feeling like we got set up thinking Gourmet dining when the food was less than mediocre.
Really creative Pacific Island cuisine designed by the executive chef (who is Guamanian). The food was very nicely prepared and the waterfront patio dining was lovely. Decent, but not killer, wine list. A really excellent dining experience, albeit a bit expensive. Call it a splurge.
Excellent in so many ways. The perfect date night for a romantic celebration. We sat by the water and were offered heat lamps AND blankets. The chef's choice was amazing. I have been recommending it to strangers and friends alike.
I had a magical time for my birthday.
Everything was espectacular, the bartender was amazing host.
The only thing that it didn’t work. It was that I wasn’t told that for the happy hour only you can be inside in the bar.
Even though I was having dinner and spent 6 hours with 20 friends they showed up kinda 2 shift. One for happy hour and others for dinner.
Other than that it is so awesome place to be.
We went to tidal with some friends are loved the view and the food! I would definitely recommend! There were so many things on the menu that I still want to try. I’m going to have to go back.
We were in town on a work conference and chose Tidal for our date night. It was a wonderful experience. Our waiter Brent was fabulous and so welcoming and kind. The food was absolutely fabulous and the wine was great. It was the perfect date night spot and if we make it back to San Diego, it would absolutely be a place we would visit again.
Excellent food and service would order any of the entrées that we had would be worth it to just go there for one of them .
Diver scallops. Hard to find. Amazing stuff. Staff was laid back and chatty even tho it looked and tasted like fine dining it is but I wore jeans and it was fine. There are little friends in the bay who
Pop up... amazing spot
Hawaiian style menu with a gourmet touch. Great service and lovely water view. Outdoor deck is
wonderful for seating and enjoying the view. Most tables are well protected from too much sun with large umbrellas. Excellent and enthusiastic service. Large portions...much could be shared! Prices are reasonable and weekend brunch is a menu choice not a buffet. Excellent coffee. Nice to walk the pier and look at the fish in the lagoon (including sharks!) afterward. Easy parking.
Hostess all ready for us, with only 45" notice per Iphone! Seated at PERFECT table with view of the water. Outdoor heaters and plexiglass protected us from cold and wind, but we loved watching the sunset and a heron standing on the beach. The stuffed trout was to die for! I will always remember this romantic evening.
Excellent service from Taylor and Kennedy. Taylor was knowledgeable and helpful in helping me decide what fish to order and he was spot on! Can’t wait to come back and try his other suggestions!
My wife and I love this place! Our first visit was last Friday for San Diego restaurant week. Since then we have returned for our new Friday dinner spot! We tried things here we would never dream to and now we just can’t go back to opening our horizons. We had the following appetizers; The coconut ceviche which was amazing, the Cesar Salad which isn’t like any regular Cesar... it’s better! And last but the least, the Grilled Spanish octopus. This had to be the best appetizer I’ve ever had! Honestly, the flavors used all came together in a way that defines culinary masterpiece! Our entrees, my wife had the kimchi fried rice and I had the wagyu burger. My wife isn’t a foodie like I am but this rice had her eyes open in a way I became slightly jealous. She loved it and compared it to our favorite fried rice she can’t eat anymore since going vegetarian. So to have something that reminds you of your once favorite dish you can’t have anymore which she nows raves this kimchi fried rice takes first place. My burger isn’t just a regular meat and patty burger. The meat used is wagyu. If you haven’t heard of this kind of meat before google it and you’ll thank me later. This burger is something I can see Richard Brunson eating on his private jet! It’s fancy, exotic and gourmet to the fullest. Dessert was a brûlée cheesecake with a raspberry reduction and mint syrup. If our meal could come to a better finish this cheesecake was it! Just perfect. The service was had was unmatched. Our waiters answered all our questions and even recommended the dishes we now love! The whole staff is extremely attentive. The beverage assistant manager recognized my wife and I from last time and even the hostess. Everyone here is at the top of their game and it shows. Tidal has become our favorite new restaurant to visit and the view is breathtaking. I highly recommend it.
Beautiful view of Mission Bay and great patio to dine on. It was cool and the heaters kept us warm.
Staff helpful but sometimes a bit too helpful!
Lovely evening--watched the sunset over the bay from our table. Food was delicious, service from everyone from busboy to waitress to receptionist was warm and friendly. A quiet refuge in a noisy world!!
Beautiful location and ambience. It was nighttime, so there wasn't too much of a view, but the decor, inside and outside lighting, and the fact that it is located inside a resort made the evening feel special versus another restaurant located in say, a strip mall or off a neighborhood street.
The waiter did forget to bring my dessert, so I just told him to remove it from the bill and not bother bringing it out since everyone else was done eating. (The picture is of a dessert that my sister ordered.) Other than that snafu, a lovely night.
The view from the terras was amazing. The service was very attentive.
Both the appetizer and entree were over salted. It wasn't only my dishes, noth my companions said their dishes were too salty also. The only course that wasn't too salty was dessert.
Good ambiance and view. Service pace was a little fast as we finished a 3-course restaurant week dinner in about an hour with drinks. Main scallop dish was a bit salty and on the small side. Food was just ok but dessert was delicious.
Great food for restaurant week
Tasty Perfect portions but most importantly we dined with view as requested. top polite service.
I requested a table with a view for my mothers birthday and asked for a cake or birthday dessert, and everything we requested was provided for in a timely manner and very friendly service. They are efficient and very professinal and the food was awesome. My entire family was impressed
We went to Tidal for the first time during Restaurant week and this review is based on the $40 p/p menu. We were seated outside on the deck overlooking the water and sunset. Heat lamps and later blankets kept all four of us warm. Service was impeccable. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. Heat lamps were turned higher if the bus at saw you pulling your jacket tighter, dropped napkins were replaced with fresh ones. Our waiter was spot on when asked for recommendation between 2 items. The menu definitely had a Guam/Hawaiian influence. Menu was somewhat limited. Dishes are a little uneven. On appetizers both the octopus and the beef cheek taro skewers were well executed but the Caesar salad was ordinary. The same was true for desserts, fabulous creme brûlée cheesecake but a good but not great boudin with macadamia nut chocolate cookie. We only tasted two out of three entrees. The miso salmon was cooked perfectly with red risotto and was outstanding. The scallop dish only had two medium scallops and may be a bit light for a hearty appetite. We had a great experience not in a small part due to the staff. A big shout out to Logan.
Very good food and service. Shrimp coconut soup was absolutely delicious.
Tidal was a great place to celebrate my dad’s birthday with family and friends. Chef Andrew Reyes and the rest of the staff were great! Nice to see Pacific Islander and Filipino flavors influencing the cuisine. Will definitely be returning to check out brunch!
We had the tasting menu and it was amazing! The chef was able to accommodate my preference to land animals and the value was great.
Melissa was outstanding & the food was excellent!
