Set in what was a private beach house in the 60s, Tidal’s mid-century modern design draws from the era it was built by Hollywood producer Jack Skirball. A fire pit-dotted deck, communal tables, and cozy lounge beckon casual group gatherings and lively conversation — though the 180° views of Mission Bay might just leave you at a loss for words.

We had the tasting menu and it was amazing! The chef was able to accommodate my preference to land animals and the value was great.
Melissa was outstanding & the food was excellent!
As a waitress who appreciates great customer service, I was SO pleased to receive such outstanding service at Tidal! Our waiter, Daniel, was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Hats off to the chef(s) as well - there were plenty of delicious options (which made it difficult to choose just one!) and many unique dishes that you won’t find anywhere else. The service, food, and atmosphere made it such a pleasure to dine there - thank you!
Great atmosphere and views. The food had a creative flare to it and tasted great.
We had the scallops and tomahawk steak. They were delicious. I wish they showed the tomahawk steak to us before carving it. They delivered the steak to our table already cut into slices. It didn’t look like a tomahawk anymore.
Gorgeous view and ambience. "Pretty good" service. The food was a HUGE disappointment. Our group of 3 ordered the Cattleman's Cut to share (supposedly for as many as 4) and it was undercooked, greasy, grisly, and tough. It came with 2 side dishes. The mushrooms were tasty enough (also a bit tough) but the mashed potatoes were skimpy, supposedly enough to serve 4, but barely enough for 3 small servings. And they were quite ordinary: more like something one would whip up from a mix. The beef entree was $110., and was a total waste of money. Will not return, no matter how pretty the view is!
We had a chicken dish but it was still raw. We asked them to cook again twice but still not working. They gave us a chocolate cake for compensation
Try the octopus and coconut soup!
It was our anniversary and McKenna danial and Julie were amazing. McKenna made us feel right at home the second we walked in wishing us a happy anniversary. Julie’s service was amazing. She made us feel special on our special night. Food was amazing. Overall one of the best experiences I’ve had dining out. Coming back next time we’re in California.
Fantastic service, excellent food. I love this place and would highly recommend it.
The food was phenomenal. There were heaters and blankets to keep you comfy when the sun went down. Wait staff was as good as the food. I frequent a lot of upscale eateries and tidal passes the test. Will definitely return.
The food was incredible. I got the halibut with the red risotto which was so delicious. We were celebrating our anniversary, and it was the perfect spot for a memorable night. It was peaceful and had a great view for sunset. Our server, I believe her name was Heather, was friendly and kind, making sure to help us celebrate. Will be back again!
We had seafood, halibut and Sheepshead, both were outstanding. very ample serving, presentation was outstanding. We will definitely return. We live about two hours away so it will be when we are in San Diego.
Service was again over the edge, friendly and assuring your comfort and needs. The Birthday was definitely 5 Star.
Staff very friendly and helpful with selections. Nice selection of surf & turf items with a “island” flavor twist.
Food was great, service was awesome, and the scenery was amazing! Come around sunset for a really nice evening.
Extremely loud on the outdoor casual dining deck. Moved inside to enjoy our meal. Service was spot on.
Great ambiance and our waiter is terrific! Thought it might be a bit too touristy but it was just perfect for taking out of town guests. Warm evenings are great to dine outside. VERY nice ambiance and our seafood was great!
Food was overall excellent, with one notable exception, the long beans were tough and stringy, so much so that they were very difficult to cut with a table knife. the waiter took them off the bill when he saw that we did not eat them, and apologized. Service was good, but wait staff seemed a little overworked and while very pleasant and informative, the waiter had little time to spend at out table, or to check back in with any ordinary frequency. Service has been more readily available on past occasions. Everything else, from fish to vegies to french fries were terrific; and they had two local gluten reduced bears on the menu, Stone Delicious and a Duckfoot selection, both on draught!
Everything was great but the food was a bit salty. We had the eggs Benedict. Salty!
Best food in Town! Perfect!
Service was wonderful, waitress was very attentive. Food was excellent, awesome views of Mission Bay. Highly recommend.
I had the miso halibut and we shared the beet salad. Food was delicious. Great ambiance right on the water. Will be back.
Food was excellent...the restaurant is very nice, beautiful location on the bay as well. Our server was a bit spacey, we had to request a couple items multiple times but otherwise she was fine. Will return next time we’re in SD.
Fabulous service. Outstanding water-side View. So lucky we found this place!!!
Loud ventilation noise in the main hall is annoying. I will come back but I will not take a table in that area again.
Was great from the moment we sat down the the second we left. Great service, great food. Actually was prob the best service we have had in a while! And thanks for the map and explaining the area to us. We had a great after dinner walk around the resort. Daniel was our server and we wish he worked at every restaurant we go to! 😊
Great setting, ok food..pricey for the quality. Beet salad very good. Grouper so-so.
The hostess was very rude. She sat us at a table which was very sunny. We asked to be moved to a different table and was told “All” were reserved and couldn’t move us. Then overheard her telling another party she could move them to another table. We got charged $4 for a soda that was included in the kids meal and our waiter argued that we didn’t buy full meals so the free soda doesn’t apply. (It doesn’t state that in the kids menu). We wanted to take a family picture and our waiter saw us trying to take a selfie and instead of asking to help said “Let me get out of your way!”. That was really rude. The water view is nice but would never go back there again!!!!
Neat restaurant, great view from the patio. Bar services was very very slow. The food and everything else was good. Prices are high as you would expect but worth a one time visit.
This place is great. We all enjoyed our meals. We had a group of 13 and the food came out at the same time. And it was delicious. The chef knows what they are doing.
We had a beautiful view of the sun setting as we sat outside. Food was great... was a great find!
Although we are living in an era when the concept of people dressing up for a nice dinner is a thing of the past, Tidal is possibly a victim of the dichotomy of this issue: namely, if one would like to find an upscale restaurant for a special occasion, you may find yourself paying a lot of money to dine with people in bathing suits and Teva sandals. Not that it is the fault of Tidal, but understand that this is case with their clientele, and if it is a really special occasion, and that sort of thing bothers you, you may want to keep this in mind. The food was good and the presentation was nice, but I felt a bit overpriced. This restaurant is located in the resort area, which may account for the price. The view is fantastic and I would certainly recommend it for a happy hour drink to watch the sun set and have an appetizer.
My husband and I love Tidal.
I go there to get my Pina Colada because that’s my favorite cocktail and it’s difficult to find a place that does it well.
The food is outstanding, we’ve tried many dishes (we’ve been there at least 4 times) and we’ve never been disappointed.
Amazing food and top notch service. The chef is very creative, producing wonderful flavors. Great ambiance.
One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had!
From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with a smile. We sat at the bar for happy hour before our dinner. Jeffrey was outstanding. We were seated at an outside table with the best view in the house. However, I don't think there is any bad view. Heather was our waitress and was so helpful. She offered many suggestions. We started with an appetizer cheese board that was divine. Our meals were perfect. This was such a great experience for my husband and I. We will for sure be back and highly recommend to all of our friends.
We came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary while staying at the resort, and we are so glad we did! We were sat at a nice quiet table overlooking the bay as the sun was setting. Our server Logan was wonderful and attentive. He sent out an appetizer and dessert on the house, since he knew we were celebrating. He recommended the Halibut and the Braised Beef Cheek, both of which were incredible and so flavorful! We had a lovely time and left with very full and happy bellies!
Daniel the server was very friendly and extremely knowledgable about the entire menu.
We made reservations and would recommend to make reservations! Service and food was amazing!
Our waiter was the best ever and we had a great view!!
