Craft and catch converge at Tidal, perched where land meets sea on the shores of Mission Bay. Tidal curates a thoughtful selection of local seafood and craft beverages that, like the ever changing tides, shift seasonally at Mother Nature’s whim. Set in what was a private beach house in the 60s, Tidal’s mid-century modern design draws from the era it was built by Hollywood producer Jack Skirball. Overall very nice experience at Tidal. Portions were small but food quality very good. Reasonable wine prices. Good service and nice atmosphere. Will re-visit when it's warmer and will try to catch sunset.

Food and service were good but we also picked a cold night when no one else was there (low season) so getting attention was not a problem.
They also add a 4% fee to the bill as some stupid offset to a local increase in minimum wage. I thought that was unethical. Add it to your prices so people know how much they are spending - don’t slip it in on the tab at the end!!! Is this common in San Diego??

Place and service were great! We went on Christmas Eve and it is surprisingly overpriced. We started with the appetizer which is okay then the entree threw everything off. Prime rib with mash and uncooked string beans were all bland my wife got the salmon instead of grouper with chick pea and sauce overpowered the fish. I feel really bad paying 230$ for this evening. Sorry not sorry I cook for a living Im not the greatest but you they couldve done better.

Personally I would not recommend this place for food. Food was awful. First off I picked this place for the food but didn’t know there was a set menu for that day. My bad. We had the Christmas Dinner. For $70 a person I expected way better food. I had the tamale duck. Strange tasting. The only thing that was decent was prime ribs and mash potatoes. For Desert I had Orange chocolate chip cookie which was weird tasting. A grity strange tasting milk shake. Wasn’t really even a milkshake. Was not worth money or trip.

Unfortunately, my wife and kids really didn't enjoy the food here. The Chicken Confit was overcooked and dry. Entree Diver Scallops (2) can be a full entree. Mash potatoes were like glue (over processed not mashed). They sat all the families with kids on one end away from other patrons. Didn't enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner at all.

Went for Thanksgiving since this used to be a great restaurant. We were wrong. This was one of the worst Thanksgiving meals we have ever experienced. The food was really awful. I couldn't eat it. Yet it was $70/person plus the wine pairing cost (with lousy wines). The personnel were great from the servers to the hostesses, but they were overshadowed by D+ cafeteria quality food that was truly awful. This was a Thanksgiving where I went home hungry!!

Disappointing, expensive dinner. The flavors of the food didn’t taste good. Do not get the $40 bland tuna with mushrooms. You will never want to eat a mushroom again. We regretfully should have just gone to a taco shop, which we know is always good.

Service was so slow, we didn’t get our drinks until the food showed up.

We stayed the night at Paradise Point to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. I took him to Tidal for dinner. I had the salmon and he had the Sea Bass. The food was excellent and our server was very nice/knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Tidal for any meal and occasion!

Made reservations for 6, thinking 1 hour 30 minutes would be enough time before heading to an 8pm concert. We were mistaken, it took 40 minutes to get cheese we ordered as an appetizer, and didn’t receive our meal until an hour after ordering. We had to cancel and leave hungry to the concert since the food didn’t come until 7:30!!!! Staff was unapologetic. Will never return!

My wife and I have been here in the past and had a great overall experience. Something has changed. Food was different. Ribeye overcooked. Didnt like the scallops. Server seemed inexperienced. Drinks were great and dessert was awesome.

This is San Diego restaurant week so we decided to give Tidal a try. The food was excellent. The service was wonderful. I had the vegetarian options which were fantastic given that they were not on the regular menu. The vegetables were crisp and the quinoa was great. My husband had the lobster coconut soup which he loved. The chocolate coconut cream cake was the perfect end to the meal. Rich, decadent and moist. Sitting out on the patio overlooking the bay was fantastic. Would definitely go back.
