You can also enjoy family style table service on our outdoor Tidal Deck while watching the Sunset over Mission Bay.
Set in what was a private beach house in the 60s, Tidal’s mid-century modern design draws from the era it was built by Hollywood producer Jack Skirball. A fire pit-dotted deck, communal tables, and cozy lounge beckon casual group gatherings and lively conversation — though the 180° views of Mission Bay might just leave you at a loss for words.

We tried the Land & Sea menu Wednesday night and ordered the scallops and paid $88 for the tomahawk enhancement.
Be aware that if you order any of the enhancements, you lose out on the rest of the prix fixe dishes such as the starter and salad. So, for more money you get less food.
Our reservation was at 8:30pm and two of the entrees were already sold out - the Roasted Root Vegetable Pot Pie and the Slow Roasted Koji Beef Striploin.
The salad and pain frites were delicious and I wish we could have each had our own servings. The scallops were also buttery and I enjoyed the flavor complements of the chorizo purée and street corn.
The ambiance is beautiful and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the outdoor seating and the tail-end of the live music performers.
The tomahawk was a major disappointment. Half of the 40 oz steak was fat. We requested medium rare and it came out rare. When we asked to have it cooked a little more, only one side was close to medium rare and the other side was still rare. The server offered to take it back again, but even after sending it back once, the steak was ruined.
Steak needs to be cooked well the first time and it is not difficult. This leads me to believe that the cook was inexperienced or lazy. Even a cheaper cut of steak can be saved with good preparation and seasoning but this cook managed to desecrate a tomahawk.
Amusing note: The second time I mentioned the steak not being cooked to specification, the server asked if I wanted to take it home and cook it myself…if I wanted to do that, I would have stayed home…
The manager offered a 30% discount off the total bill which was the bare minimum consolation for this experience.
Great food and nice ambience! The pork loin and crab legs were delicious!
You can't find another 3-course meal with waterfront views at this price. The atmosphere is awesome and the service was top-notch. We weren't thrilled about the food. It wasn't bad, it was just very basic (no interesting flavors or ingredient combinations). I think it would be a great option if you're bringing kids or pickier eaters to a "nicer" place.
We loved our table and the view at sunset - would recommend, but it won't be the best meal you've ever had.
We joined 2 of our friends for a meal at Tidal, what we thought would be a more upscale dining experience. I made reservations through Open Table for 4 at 5:30. Upon our arrival, we requested an outside table and, after too much time looking at the computer and a consult with a manager or assistant manager, we were told there were no outside tables available. Looking outside, all but a few of the outside tables were empty. When we left after out meal, there were still plenty of empty outside tables. The inside dining experience was not pleasant, with poor acoustics amplifying the noise inside preventing a normal conversation with our friends. Additionally, you could not hear the live music outside, which was one of the reasons we chose this restaurant in the first place.
The menu is designed for a one price per person for a set menu. Three of us had the fish the smoked mushrooms were under seasoned, but the cauliflower potato puree was a hit along with the Pan Frites both of which allowed for some taste satisfaction. The dessert, a lime brule' pie, was inedible. First bite gave a heavy tartness and then bitterness. We all left our dessert mostly untouched.
I would have given this restaurant one star, but the service was very good.
Overall, as long term San Diego resident, there are plenty of restaurants on or near the water that will give you great, not okay, experience. I recommend passing on Tidal and you find a better way to spend $150 for 2 for dinner.
We had the best server! Fun drinks & great Sunday brunch. Can’t beat the views!
Pleasant outdoor dining . This is a classical San Diego Hotel dining experience. Swaying palms and a view of the water and the palms. Service was pleasant; however the food was nothing to write home about. Mediocre describes the lomo lomo beef ($25) consisting of two spicy beef patties, a fried egg, and some greasy fried rice. Avocado toast ($16) was pleasant, but appeared to have been made with guacamole rather than fresh avocado. Diet cokes were $4 apiece.
In sum, nice setting, wished the food would match...
Went in on a Friday night for dinner, very noisy with children screaming/crying everywhere (which is at no fault of the staff especially at a family resort). Food was decent and either hit or miss ex: the salad had next to no dressing as was dry, salmon was excellent, mixed drinks were weak, etc. It's priced for what you'd expect a resort to be priced at. We ate off a set menu with 1 set price which apparently meant that the service was non-existant as our server barely did table touches. I'll give the benefit of the doubt as this may have been due to understaffing or other circumstances, but if that's the case, it would be a good idea to decrease the size of the sections. Considering all other elements of my visit, and as someone who has worked several years in fine dining, I wasn't very impressed and wont likely return
We thoroughly enjoy Tidal. The only drawback on Friday was four tables that included babies or toddlers. There happened to be screaming and crying for a majority of our meal. There were also young children running around and misbehaving. We understand this is a result of poor and inconsiderate parenting not poor service.
One of the best Mexican meals we’ve ever had. Fantastic service. Simply outstanding!
Tough to be location and service was excellent. The fixed prie format may be easier given the circumstances but if were to choose it would be a bit less fancy and more standard choices.
The view is awesome, the service was very good. The food was ok, It is a prefix menu.
The Restaurant was difficult to contact. Opening hours are only in the evening, from Wed. to Sun. We had a special request from a fourth party because of strict dietary needs. We never received any answer, so in fact, they opted out of the dinner reservations.
The portions were very small. I ordered the scallops as the main meal and received three small scallops. In other restaurants, this small serving would be served as an appetizer.
The server tried to take away my plate, while I was still eating. We were not in a hurry, but enjoying the great views from our table.
We were served dessert, but never asked if we would like coffee. The kitchen closed at 9:00 pm, we felt as though the restaurant personnel were waiting to go home.
Would we come back? No. The Resort grounds are beautiful and we would just go to the pool bar for drinks.
As many other reviewers pointed out, there are much better restaurants in SD. Go elsewhere where food, service, and value for the $$$ is standard.
What a disappointment!! We were really looking forward to dining here because of the spectacular view and ambiance. And we checked the menu online before booking and it looked fantastic.
The problem is that on July 3, they were only offering a pre fix option! Even the kids menu was 3 courses!!!! Wth? And we did not know this until we arrived and were seated. I’m sorry, this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, it’s a normal resort dinner restaurant! We asked our very friendly server if they could make an exception and allow us to order a la carte because we didn’t even like all of the course options to possibly enjoy a pre fix, plus it’s way too much food! The manager said no!!!
Needless to say, we had only one round of very delicious drinks and then left and went next-door to the barefoot bar. It was a bit more casual than we were desiring but the food was OK and we were able to enjoy the view.
I highly recommend you call this restaurant before booking and make sure they aren’t trying to extort guests with a ridiculous multi-course pre fix menu.
Excellent service, delicious food, beautiful view, drinks on point! Will definitely go back!
Loved the view! Perfect food was good drinks awesome
Amazing meal. My wife and I ordered different dishes and both were great. The Kids meal was the best Kids meal and presentation that I have ever seen. Great atmosphere. This is a must if you are staying at the hotel.
An amazing prefixed menu.... Is food was delicious drinks were strong... Entertainment was incredible...
Love the setting and service was spectacular. The food was disappointing, the lobster did not taste good and was tiny. The dish was served with hard butter, and no cracking tools were provided. Maybe the chefs vision just didn't come to life or it was a bad catch, but it just tasted awful. For the price it was definitely a disappointment, we always look forward to delicious seafood in San Diego!
Amazing food, excellent service, and beautiful scenery. What more could you ask for?
Please let me close this window, thanks
A gem. This was our first time there and I will be going back again and again!
The food was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from Service and Ambience were very good. A great way to celebrate Father's Day with an ocean view!
Wonderful! View of the bay was perfect! Service & food amazing! We will definitely return!
Great food, terrible service. At least the views were good.
Everything was outstanding. The servers were attentive and had extremely enjoyable personalities. The food was outstanding and the view of the bay exceptional.
Everything was terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of the main courses and all the side dishes. This has now become one of my favorite restaurants.
This is a one-price multi-course dinner with excellent food and presentation, along with a smiling staff and outstanding views (we arrived just after sunset and enjoyed a crescent moon adjacent to Mars). Good for one or two romantic couples. You have a choice of main courses, and everything else is fixed. It's all delicious. Wine and beer are extra. We would return and will recommend it to friends.
Over priced food that is fancy to look at but not tasty and sadly too expensive. However service and location great.
We arrived an hour early to get a drink before dinner and the bartender, Thomas, was very welcoming. The drinks were wonderful and he was accommodating to any substitutions we wanted.
Our server was so super sweet and took excellent care of us. The view was breathtaking and we were able to watch the sunset while we ate. The food was phenomenal and such a great value. We came on Thusrday which was South of the Border night and enjoyed a great 4 course meal. The smoked meats were very juicy and tender. The portion sizes were perfect, but we weren't so hungry so we had some leftovers to take home.
There was a large gathering inside that was rather loud, but we could barely hear them from where we were seated outside. The ambiance was very romantic. Loved the soft lighting and the seating set up.
We loved it so much we'll be going back tonight and Sunday for brunch!
Was disappointed to find out it was a set menu. It came with a nice salad. Some ok sides. And a choice between two meat, one chicken and a vegetarian entrees. Entrees were ok. And a desert which was ok. Didn’t want it. The entire thing was $48.
We ordered a bottle of wine. Which was not a corkscrew top and server didn’t have us taste the wine.
The service staff wore masks which was expected but also wore gloves which is useless unless you change gloves between every customer and transaction.
Over all disappointed. Friendly service and nice view however.
They could do so much better
Came on a Wednesday and it was "Surf and Turf" theme. It was a 4 course meal (we picked our entree and all the appetizers, sides and dessert was chosen for us. $46 per person. Wished me would've known that prior because we weren't too too hungry. Asked the waiter if we could share one course or if we should leave. He was annoyed but honored it. At that point we felt like he thought we were cheap or didnt have money. Didn't really check up on us afterwards.
For was weird tasting. Idk how else to describe it. We paid an extra $55 to upgrade to steak and it just wasn't good.
There was Live music which i thought was a little annoying.
It was great experience food portions big, service great and location perfect!
This is one of two restaurants at paradise point open during our visit. Based on the reviews and photos we were really excited to try this place. The price point is a bit higher and the options a bit more on the foodie side on our opinion, which is right up out alley.
For drinks I ordered the Fade to Black, their Manhattan interpretation and it was really good. My hubby ordered the Bear with Me, as a cocktail it was okay but disappointing for it to be served in a honey bear jar that seems a bit kid-like for a $14 cocktail. His next drink was an Irish whiskey.
For food, they were only offering a preset menu, with multiple entree choices. We chose the scallops and pork loin and both were well executed and delicious. The sides and starters that came with the meal were not our favorite.
Live music by Durell Anthony (keyboard and vocals) he was fantastic, created a great atmosphere! The view was beautiful. Our server was really nice and attentive. It was a bit noisier than anticipated and not quite as intimate as we had hoped for this nicer restaurant.
If we’re back again we likely would try again but would request a quiet table and maybe a less busy time for more of a date night.
Great vibes, food, service, and drinks.
I would highly recommend it
Tidal has great food, drinks, ambiance, service, and reasonable prices.
Decaf espresso would be nice, as would a dessert menu.
Awesome staff and good food.
Very beautiful scenery, I will choose again for the next gathering.
The Resort is so pretty!! The staff is so friendly and helpful!! The Brunch food is horrible!! This is my 2nd brunch here now. I thought I would play it safe. I didn't even think it was possible to do that bad a job with Biscuits and gravy!
However, they brought my friend a Birthday waffle and that was delish. Stick with a waffle and you'll be fine.
Went here for brunch while staying at the resort for a weekend. I got the salmon benedict which was totally amazing. Strawberry mimosas are a must for their brunch as well. The view if you get outdoor seating is very nice and the service was excellent. Only complaint is it is a bit pricey. Fine for a special treat but not something I would just go to as a local
Visited Tidal while staying at Paradise Point. Unfortunately we were not impressed with dining options. It was a set menu for bbq and my husband couldn’t eat most of the food as it all had dairy. For the meat option We got the pork ribs, and those were not great either. The sides were also not tasty, everything had a peculiar smell. Disappointed overall. We left most of our food.
We ate at Tidal on a Thursday evening when South of the Border was the theme for the menu. We were a party of four with a young child. The food could not have been better! The flavors of the food were delicious! From the varied meats we ordered down to the rice and beans, we found all excellently prepared. We will be back!
