Tidal History
Set in what was a private beach house in the 60s, Tidal’s mid-century modern design draws from the era it was built by Hollywood producer Jack Skirball. A fire pit-dotted deck, communal tables, and cozy lounge beckon casual group gatherings and lively conversation — though the 180° views of Mission Bay might just leave you at a loss for words.

Beautiful spot on the water... tons of heaters and fire places. The drinks were excellent; highly recommend the old fashioned. Food was also good but limited in choices; even more so as a gluten free eater...I had pretty much 1 option. But it was delicious! Highly recommend!!
I chose this place after looking at the menu. I was looking forward to trying the delicious food. But once we got there, we were told it’s a prefix set menu due to Covid-19. Makes sense, but why didn’t they mention it on the site? I would have made plans elsewhere. The food was eh. The price was high. Paying a lot for food I really didn’t care for makes no sense. Waitress was nice. She mentioned that other customers expected a full menu also. The only thing I liked about this place was the ambiance.
Our "Tidal"experience was perfect. Great ambiance, delicious food, great service, both our waitress and busboy.
Very impressed by the staff! They made the dinner and brunch experience amazing!
Easter brunch outing. Great service, food and atmosphere.
This restaurant is in an amazing setting. Unfortunately, it is the most poorly managed eatery I have ever visited. I made reservations, but when we arrived I was told they were running a little late. It would be 15-20 minutes. Not a problem. We went to the bar, ordered drinks, went to sit outside by the fire pits, had to move dirty glasses to sit. Tables within view were empty, but needed to be bused. 45 minutes later and a reminder to the hostess we were seated at an outdoor table with an inoperable portable heater, waited 10 minutes for wait staff to request a new table. 10 minutes after that we were taken back to the fire pit area with the unbused tables. We gave up and walked out. This restaurant is a hot mess in a beautiful location.
Despite having reservations and the restaurant being fairly empty, it took an hour for our party to be seated, and we had to remind the staff that we were still waiting 3 times. They also sat us an indoor table with no view even though I booked the reservation 2 weeks in advance. It took 24 phone calls to get a hold of the restaurant as they do not answer their line. The Saturday bbq fixed menu was very disappointing and the overall experience was quite lacking. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
It was a really nice place for a night with friends. The menu was interesting and the communal items made for a nice relaxing shared experience. The ambiance was lovely.
Just not worth the price. They claim it’s fine dining but they don’t offer options and the preset meal is embarrassing at best. I love the resort but will not be eating here again.
Everything was great except the menu is fixed and it was a lot of food. Come to find out that sharing is allowed. Great dinner experience overall.
Great, food was excellent had the Sunday brunch, avacado toast is a must along with fresh fruit and French toast .
We enjoyed getting out to a lovely and delicious dinner.
They were closed! I don’t understand how we were able to make a booking through Open Table, have it confirmed and then turn up there to find everything shut. It was a special occasion and we were very disappointed.
didn't open !!!!they didn't mention it~!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They had their smoked bbq dinner that evening. The food was extremely dry. My husband ate his meat, but I couldn’t eat any of mine. It was very disappointing. The dinner bread was not edible.....and my hubby and I love bread, not the case that evening. The salad was ok, the green beans.....not sure what taste they had, and the mashed potatoes were too sweet. We didn’t even attempt the corn or wait for the dessert that was included. I read great reviews about their food, so this was a huge disappointment. The waitress was super nice, even comped my meal, but we still paid for my husbands food and he barely ate. Needless to say, we left hungry....a sad end to our well needed getaway 😟.
Tidal service was great. The waitress was attentive and understanding. It was beautiful by the water. Food was overall delicious. I got the fried chicken for brunch however and the chicken was not cooked through. I sent it back and got new pieces and it came back uncooked again. Manager was apologetic and head chef came out to talk to us and offer us a free meal.
Excellent service, beautiful views and good food.
We celebrated our daughter birthday here. Everything about this restaurant was EXCELLENT!
Boring service. Boring food. Great view!
OMG this place is a hidden jem!! food was amaze ,, killer bay view .. People were all super nice,, We had best dinner ... ended up going for brunch too ... and it got even better for brunch ! bloody marrys with Bacon !! YASS!
Lovely ambience, with great attentive service.
What a beautiful view and fantastic foods !!! I’ll come back for sure
Food was delicious and the drinks were even better
The food was ok. I wish it wasn’t a set menu but I understand with covid and it being an off season for the resort. Jesus was AMAZING he went above and beyond for us!
Everything was amazing. The food was incredible and the service is beyond what I expected
Great service. Family friendly.
It’s price fix and choices are marginal. And when they brought the food it was like serving birds! Too expensive for not so good food
Staff were all very nice and helpful with a food allergy and covid conscious. . The food was mediocre and we felt overpriced. Location was beautiful.
Great spot for dinner while on our honeymoon! Great food, and lovely patio area!
This used to be a decent restaurant. Now they are doing a set menu. The food was below mediocre and very overpriced. It’s a great location but I won’t return.
My husband and I, as well as our friends, had a great experience. The dinner was delicious and our server was attentive. We sat in the patio area and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. Even though the menu was pre-set price, it was a good value and we left very full.
We had such a high expectation from this evening. We made the reservation and was so happy to celebrate my husband's birthday with the family at this beautiful restaurant but the food were a huge disappointment!!!! We paid 680$ and felt bad for that we didn't get
a good eating experience for the money.
We had a delicious meal on their Wok and Roll themed night, I had the Crispy fish while my son had the tenderloin, appetizers were delicious and everything was presented beautifully. Can't wait for our next trip to San Diego so we can try a different themed night.
Acknowledged our anniversary upon arrival and got a little chocolate wafer saying so with our dessert. Called prior to let us know menu was Prix fixe for dinner. Service excellent and Katie quick to notice I was cold and suggested turning on the heater. Other servers very helpful also. Food well presented and beautiful view of the bay sitting on the patio. We would return.
Great service from KATI, Jesus and Zoe! Food was a unique experience that it was Asian and very unique. Thank you for a great experience! We will come back.
Best view of San Diego ever!
Celebrated our anniversary at the Sunday brunch. My choice of main course was grouper as they were out of salmon. Sensational flavors of the white fish, sweet potato fritter with fennel salad came together beautifully and satisfied. View of the bay and Julia's attentive service made the whole experience pleasing and memorable. Thank you Tidal for a lovely brunch!
Nice place, great food, very good service.........................
Great service, food and amazing sunset view.
I came to Tidal for few times and I love this place a lot. The last time brought my friends here for my birthday dinner and all of my friends love it. The service, food, ambiance are excellent.
The food was delicious and we had a great table with a scenic ocean view.
Would definitely eat there again
