Fantastic, deliciouse, coming certainly back
There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant at the time and it still took over 5 minutes to be greeted. The food was very overpriced and poorly prepared. My girlfriends scallops had arguably the worst texture we have experienced with scallops and my steak had no flavor. Given the amount of money we paid, we could have had 5 similar meals with better quality at an Applebees
Overpriced, fair quality, not the "high-end" experience you think of when you see $$$$. PS: not easy to find, dark road & parking lot
It was the perfect setting for our anniversary dinner. We were seated right on the edge of the outdoor seating, mere steps from the water's edge. We were able to see the sun set over the bay as we ate our dinner.
The service was snappy and spot-on. The food was delicious.
Rachel took great care of us - she was cheerful, professional, made great recommendations about the menu, checked on us often, and never missed a beat. Bravo!
Great surprise to find CHamoru food in San Diego on property at the hotel i was staying at. The scallops were divine as was the clams kadun pika
No reservations necessary as Tidal’s buzz has definitely worn off. Sometimes the venue is closed for special events though. But still a creative menu and outstanding bay views. Cocktails are nearly the same price as brunch entrees. Total bill was $96 plus tip for a couple. Two cocktails each.
Parking is ample and free but spaces are skinny. Have to park in the back 40 to avoid door dings.
It was noisy, but in their defense, we were seated next to a party (Birthday) of about 12 - 10 year olds. They did say that we had gotten the wrong menus. Which was kind of a bummer. Oh, there were possibly more options. Well now we are in time crunch and don't have time to check out other options. You kind of feel gypped. But I had the Kahlua pork and cabbage with Garlic Fried Rice. I think everything came with Garlic Fried Rice. And it is VERY garlicky. But also super yummy! The sourdough toast came with some super yummy guava jam.
Just would have liked some pico de galo salsa. None to be found.
Good food, beautiful view, service was less than par. Not very kid-friendly.
The service was outstanding hands down. Our charcuterie board was exciting, because so far the food at Paradise was kind of a let down. The main coarse was super salty, and we felt tired of being negative about the food and drinks from different spots on the facilities. We were excited that it was better. Seems like the kitchen just needs a little tightening up, and re-examine. Please, rescue the bar program everywhere, it needs help. The service was outstanding, and genuine. It was almost like the staff knew drinks or food weren’t good and couldn’t do anything about it, so I hope that changes. Guests need to get what they are paying for.
Booked this spot for my birthday. Food selection was hard for all my party. Kids didn’t like most of it. Adults too were picky. Food was ok not great. Starter bread rolls were crusty and dry. I ordered the tomokawk steak $110 for my 12 yr old son. Pricey & nothing special. Drinks and ambiance was great. Great noise level for kids. We sat outdoor and it was nice. Sister ordered scallops - only 3 medium size for $40 not worth it. Lobster - flavor was great but not worth the cost. Duck appetizer was too fried, hard and greasy. Recommend only for drinks & Clams appetizer or Steak special was amazing .
Our reservation was honored and we were seated at the time and place requested on reservation. 1st impression was that staff was very helpful and friendly;which continued throughout the dinner. Andrew, our waiter was excellent- he knew the menu well and was able to explain the different options. We ordered the Foraged Mushrooms- sadly we had to send them back be cause they were inedible salty. Andrew was apologetic, and took the order off our bill without hesitation.
To our happy surprise, the reminder of our order, salmon and scallop dishes, were perfect. My companion and I both were satisfied with the amount of food as well as the delicious taste.
We were a bit put off by the people traffic and noise-, the resort was full, and noisy. We might have just picked the wrong weekend to go. Our comment was that if we are spending that much on dinner, we have the expectation that the venue would be quieter and more peaceful. With that said, we would recommend to friend who want to try something new and different.
Melissa was our server and she was so nice and respectful. Always checked in on us. We were a party of seven. We had the steamed halibut ( so good), salmon was also delicious. The filet mignon special served with purple yam was unique. We also had desserts. The green tea panna cotta and cheesecake were also refreshing and lite.
Although the food and atmosphere is nice, we were disappointed that there were no linens on the table. When you spend over $150 you would expect table linens. Also, it is very touristy with a lot of children eating on the patio. We were there for my birthday, hoping for a romantic evening as specified in the reservation, and it took away from the experience. Also, we ordered the Hawaiian rolls with Citrus butter and jam and they appeared to come from the King's Hawaiian package that you buy at the grocery store. Given the price of $4.50 for three rolls I expected a little more. I also don't like paying for bread with dinner when I'm paying thirty-five to fifty dollars for my entree. Overall, I found the food tasty but rather expensive. Our appetizer of octopus featured 2 tentacles for $21. The Caesar salad was $17. As I mentioned earlier, it was my birthday but rather than being offered a choice of desert we were brought a small brownie with whipped cream again not what I expect for this caliber of restaurant. Lastly, on Wednesday they advertise half-price wine night, however it was only a choice of one red or one white wine for half price you are not given the choice of the entire wine list.
Our table of 8 sat on the deck & enjoyed a delicious dinner with the most picturesque backdrop. Sending a huge thank you to our server, Rachel for being extra amazing & fun-yes we would recommend!
While expensive this restaurant has a beautiful setting. The food was exceptional. I had the grilled octopus for an appetizer and it was the best I had ever eaten. Dinner selections are varied enough to please anyone and they were very accommodating with my gluten and dairy free preferences. Daniel our server was outstanding.
Very delicious foods and nice view!
Excellent seafood in an incredible waterfront location. Service was outstanding.
Food was superb. Each plate showed great care and thought in its construction and execution. Some of the best seafood dishes I have ever tasted.
The live music when we arrived was really good, pity that the musician finished at 7pm though!
Our server, Brent, was awesome and attentive, and the food was excellent!
The Tomahawk was closer to Medium than to Medium Rare, but the flavour was still exquisite and the meat wonderfully tender!
The sides are also a great size and easily shareable :)
Long time friends were visiting from New York, first time in San Diego, and they wanted to eat by the water. I’d eaten at Tidal before and loved it, so I thought it would be perfect. I made a reservation through Open Table for 7 pm, but the only time available was for 6:15, so I took it. When we arrived at 6:15, the place was empty, except for a wedding reception off to the side. The patio had plenty of open seating, so I requested a table outside. The host said all the outside tables were reserved. He sat us inside, and we were the only people in that part of the dining room. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the view was beautiful. Two things, however, made the evening disappointing. First, the wedding reception was so loud that we had to shout to hear each other. I wish we had been seated in a different part of the restaurant so that the noise was minimized. Second, we finished our dinner and left the restaurant at 7:40, but none of the outside tables that were “reserved” when we arrived had been occupied. Could it be that all those people who reserved an outside table didn’t show up for their reservation? How long does Tidal hold a reservation for? It was confusing to be refused an outside table that was available the whole time we were there. However, the food was good, so I’ll probable be back, but I’ll call in advance to see if they are hosting any large parties because the noise was a challenge.
Really good food wasn’t expecting to get a small portion of food on the house so it made things better definitely coming back
Excellent food and service but menu is too short of items
Fuimos a repetir el tomahawk y no decepcionó. El pescado del dia buenísimo y postre espectacular
Food was ok. Price was high. Too fancy for my 8 year old daughter. Beautiful view on patio.
Always enjoy the outdoor seating of this island resort and the menu selection here!
Beautiful bay view, especially for sunset.
Went really well and the sunset timing was perfect
The place needs cleaning. A woman was washing her child’s feet in the women’s rest room sink. The windows around the place need a good cleaning. The food was so so. Lots of small kids bc its at a family resort but $30 per plate. Over priced for what it was.
We came here for brunch to celebrate my mom's birthday. The view was beautiful, the deck is has sun sails so you are in the shade wherever you sit, our servers were friendly and accomadating. They treat you like guests even if you are not staying at the hotel. We came here more for the ambiance than the food. My shrimp omelet was interesting and tasty.
Amazing views, crew and dinner... Ask for Daniel, unbelievable guy!!... small but worthwhile wine list, surely you'll find a match for your taste.
Fantastic friendly service. Always had my water refilled, food came out hot, fresh, a d delicious. I highly recommend!
Incredibly friendly staff, perfectly cooked food and an amazing view.ade out anniversary very special!!
Great seafood. Well informed waiter. We are happy with tidal
Our server Daniel was beyond amazing. Very professional
Daniel is the best server!!!
Honestly the worst food ever !! They were out of bread !!!! Yes bread !!! How do you run out of bread ?! The Ceaser salad was tasteless !! The Halibut was disgusting and and had extreme fish ordor. Im guessing the head chef who won all the awards took off 4th of July week . And his Sioux chef doesn’t know how to order for a resort that is at maximum capacity or cook!!!
The ambience is very nice we sat outside we had a waiter that kind of had a chip on his shoulder didn’t really like him very much. we got the beef cheeks that was so soy-based and spicy they were horrible we should’ve sent it back. The menu didn’t really explain the flavor profile and our waiter didn’t bother to explain it either. The clams were good, the sauce nice but would prefer muscles.
Surprised to find this excellent restaurant so empty, and what appeared to be a full house next door at the grill. Guess nobody was interested in adventurous fresh fish dishes like Halibut steamed in Taro leaves on a bed of toasted rice. They’re missing out! We had a great meal here. Plenty of patio heaters and wait staff everywhere.
Birthday and staycation! Absolutely lovely evening. Thank you
Nice setting... good service.. but that’s about all.. food is mediocre ..
