Perfect spot for a special date night! Very creative, flavorful, and not too expensive
More'chata is a must-have brunch cocktail
Read reviews ahead of time and was expecting better. TJ our server was quite good and recommended a delicious small plate (cauliflower) that was the best thing I ordered. Calamari was bland and greasy. Empanadas were dry. Pork belly sliders were good, but more sweet than savory. Fish tacos were ho hum. Supposed to be Costa Rican cuisine, but from this visit I wouldn't say it is any better than average Mexican. Ambiance was nice and for that I would try it again to sample an entree and a few other small plates. (With 4 cocktails $110+ for 2 people.)
Everything was great.
As always amazing!
Excellent food and service! Our server, Abagail, was terrific! We'll be back!
We selected TICO randomly based on the good reviews, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. We picked the “forgot to eat lunch” option on the menu, where they serve you their best selections from the menu. The amount of food was ridiculous (you really get a good value) and the flavors were unexpected and delicious. My favorite was the entree- melt in your mouth lamb! The tuna ceviche from the first course was a close second.
Overall, 5/5. It was a little noisy, but that’s expected on a Saturday night in DC. Our server (Dennis) was super attentive, and the 6 courses came at a perfect pace. We will definitely be back!
Loved it! We allowed our server to pick our dishes and we weren’t disappointed! We left stuffed and still had a few items to go! This was the small order, so I can’t imagine the bigger one!
Imaginative drinks and a lively atmosphere helped make this a perfect date night with my wife. I’m already looking for reasons to go back and bring friends!
The service was great and the food came out very quickly! Highly recommend it! I will definitely be going back!
We had a good visit with plenty of delicious food to go around. However, Tico management, please tell your servers to stop calling mid-30s women "girls." We were referred as "girls" the entire night, and we were all obviously older than the server himself. Also, the restaurant was very dark, maybe just a slight adjustment to the lighting?
Awesome food, awesome place, awesome service!
Tico never disappoints...
great food, service and ambiance.
I’ve been for Brunch and Dinner; multiple times and always excellent.
I had a great dinner with two friends. Even on a Saturday night during Restaurant Week, service was excellent--prompt and helpful. We chose tapas dishes from the regular menu rather than the RW menu. The food was wonderful; the Spanish octopus was amazing. Highly recommended!
WE ENJOYED OUR VISIT TO TICO. "TJ" WAS THE SERVER, AND A GOOD ONE. THE MANAGER "STEVE" CAME TO THE TABLE TO ASK IF ALL WAS WELL. WE HAD 2 CEVICHE DISHES, WHICH WAS VERY FRESH, DELICIOUS AND A GUAC APP, WHICH WAS EXCELLENT. WE WOULD DEF RETURN NEXT TIME WE HIT THE LINCOLN THEATER, WHICH IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.
The beer was outstanding! This is a tapas place, and we started with the meatballs, brussels sprouts, and pork sliders. All were great, especially the brussels sprouts. Lemony, spicy, buttery. We then moved on to the crunchy gruyere cheese -- delicious thick slices of gruyere in panko, fried crispy. Loved the gruyere, not stringy but flavorful, served with a spicy pomegranate dip. We thought we'd stop with the gruyere -- but we had to revisit the brussels sprouts! Lots of energy in this place, predominantly young folks, disco music -- not a favorite, but also not too loud. Service was good -- our waiter was a little green, perhaps, and he forgot a couple of details, but all service staff/the supervisor picked up the slack very smoothly. Would definitely recommend!
