The spicy fish tacos were the best I've ever had. The guacamole was bright and fresh, and the cabbage salad was yummy too. The Red Sangria was fruity and well balanced--I even ate the apples! If you have room, I highly recommend the churros...superlative.
We did the chef’s special, food was great.
Sunday brunch day. All you can eat and drink for 2 hours. Can’t go wrong for the price
The food was great. We ordered the bottomless brunch and were unsure what to order. It all looked good. Our server recommended bringing two of each dish out to sample everything. It worked out well, but towards the end the restaurant got busy and our service became slow, totally understandable, but we were told at the hostess stand that we had a 2 hour table limit. There are definitely some tapas I would skip because it's very filling! The Bloody Mary's were awesome. I think it would also be beneficial to list the beers that are on the bottomless brunch. My partner ordered a beer and was charged an additional $8.00 and there were times that our server didn't understand what we were asking. Overall, the experience was great, just a couple of snafus. I would definitely go back!
Fun atmosphere!
Service slow and inattentive. Food very tasty, but lukewarm
The manager was very understanding due to the changes in our group count. Everyone was very accommodating and staff enjoyed their time at Tico. I love this restaurant and will always recommended it.
My husband and I have been to Tico many times and have enjoyed its brunch. It had a wide variety of quality meals available at a decent price. With the requirement that it’s ‘all you can eat’ substantive portions and quality, and I emphasize quality, have gone out the window. Secondly, they force you to pay for the $49 all you can eat and drink just to get coffee. With this experience, we’re not going back for brunch again. The service was very poor as well, not once offering to refill coffee or ask if we wanted a second drink.
Been here many times and it’s never disappointed
Excellent food, very attentive waiter and Host. Great for meeting friends or your older kids.
I have been going to Tico since it first opened. It used to be a go-to spot. Unfortunately, over the last couple years the menu seems to be ever changing and getting smaller and smaller. There are a few long standing items that are standouts - cabbage and green bean salad and the corn - but overall the restaurant has lost a lot of its luster.
Every dish was full of flavor. We brought some first-timers and they loved it!
Food was sub-par at best. We had to send one of the dishes back because it was so salty, it was not edible. Definitely will not go back.
We wanted to try a new place and I’ve always passed by Tico and was curious. It was very busy and had a great ambiance. The food and drink were on the expensive side but decent. Nothing truly amazing but a good place to check out
I was excited to try Tico with a friend of mine. We went last night (Saturday night), and I don’t think I will be returning. The waiters were very kind and attentive, but unfortunately, the lack of a vestibule in the entrance and the food quality made the experience miserable. As I said, the restaurant doesn’t have a vestibule in the entrance. As we were seated in a table close to the door, every time someone came in (every 30 seconds), we got hit by a horrible cold draft. We asked to be moved to another table, which we were told we would, but it never happened, so we both ended up eating with out coats, which was uncomfortable and odd.
Second, we ordered the shrimp entrée and the queso dish and they were terribly executed. The size of the shrimp was great (very large), but they were so overcooked and salty that I was sad to see such nice shrimp be wasted. The queso was slightly better but also really salty.
Lastly, the tables are very tightly placed so I got hit by at least 3 people walking by. Lots of people and very loud, so sadly, I will not be coming back again.
Loved it! Great girls night!
I invited a foreigner and she love it
The food was really not that great. Chips were cold and tacos had too much sauce on them. The restaurant smelled bad and it took forever to get our drinks.
Nice waiter, fast enough service, good deal on brunch, nice drink options... food was good enough but not good, excluding the duck hash.
Took a while to get our waiter’s attention to place our first order, but food was outstanding. Very tight eating spaces, so don’t plan on spreading out. Drinks were amazing and strong! Reservations are A MUST for brunch. 😊
Very much enjoyed brunch. Energetic restaurant and the duck hash and churros were great.
Tico’s is one of our favorite restaurants in DC for every day dining. On this occasion we were able to get our favorite server David who provides amazing service and recommendations. We tried one of the chef’s new dishes Fluke Ceviche With sweet potato, ginger and Leche de Tigre which has a true Peruvian flavor profile and was delicious. We’ve never had a bad dish at Tico’s but some of our favorite go to‘s are the spicy crab, ahi tuna and cauliflower dish; and all of their tacos are amazing. You definitely won’t go away hungry.
This was my birthday brunch! Our server was pretty attentive and she did her thing. The kitchen was slow getting the food out so it made things a bit strained at times. Overall, we had a good time and I will return at some point!
Outstanding food and service - desserts were amazing!
Awesome brunch and the food was very tasty. We enjoyed the variety of options available!
Great experience and ambience. Food was good, the service was great despite how busy it was, and the staff was very nice and accommodating!
Tico has some great appetizers and desserts, there could be more options for large plates. There werren't a lot of "wow" dishes on the menu but it's a great place to go in a group and share some small plates. We had a good time, though I wish they would make their margaritas from scratch instead of using the premade mixer.
Bartender was lovely as we waited. Great front desk. Nice waiter who got most of our order correct. But they almost refuse to clear dirty dishes. They piled up on our table and the food runner kept dropping food and leaving. When I finally asked to have some removed. Literally ignored. Back turned. I even yelled after the food runner. Nothing. Great food but you are eating in an unsanitary town dump by the end. Not returning.
I used to love this place, but the food has really gone downhill. This was officially my last visit.
We went here to celebrate a friend moving back to town after being away for 3 years. At first It seemed as if the staff was attentive but then we began to realize they were just trying to rush us out. As soon as we finished our meal and indicated we didn’t want desert, the manager came up to us and said “we need this table. We have a party of 9 and we need to take your table to convert it for them. They’ve been waiting.” Now when we arrived for dinner the restaurant was only a quarter full. You would have thought if they had such a large party coming in so close to our reservation that maybe they would have just set up for that earlier. It was super rude and we won’t ever go back.
Food was bland. Did not have the Mexican south american spice and favors I was expecting. Great location and beautiful atmosphere.
Helpful server guided us through the menu and kept our glasses full.
Party of 5 for the all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunch. The food was great, our waiter was super nice, and we stayed the whole two hours. No complaints.
I went for the first time with some friends from college. The brunch was amazing! We were able to try a lot of different foods and drinks because of unlimited food and drinks and everything was really good. There was a great vibe throughout the restaurant from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. Great place!
Great food and great service and a wonderful urban space
Fish tacos inedible due to addition of extremely hot peppers, and I like spicy food. Also virtually no fish.Mentioned to server; response: Meh. Calamari well cooked, nice sauce. Portion too small for price. Several better dining options within one block.
We stopped at Tico before a concert at the Lincoln Theater. We LOVED it. Delicious fresh food served on small plates, allowed up to sample a variety of Tico's offerings. Reasonable prices. We'll be back.
Great food for a great price ! Our server was awesome kept the food and drinks flowing for unlimited brunch. We’ll definitely be back !!
Excellent atomosphere and very good food. A bit noisy for serious conversations but not a problem for a fun night out with family or friends. Only regret is that the restaurant didn’t propose anything for the birthday we were there to celebrate...
Excellent food!!! Would definitely return
